A practical method for simultaneous determination of Poisson’s ratio and Young’s modulus of elasticity of thin films

        Jun-yi Sun,Jian-li Hu,Zhou-lian Zheng,Xiao-ting He,Huan-huan Geng 대한기계학회 2011 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.25 No.12

In this paper, based on the exact analytical solution of axisymmetric deformation of the circular membrane fixed at its edge under the action of uniformly-distributed loads, we propose a new method to be able to simultaneously determine Poisson's ratio and Young's modulus of elasticity for thin films. We also present a set of exact formulas used for simultaneously determining Poisson's ratio and Young's modulus of elasticity for free-standing thin films or coating thin films without residual stresses or pre-tension. This method has the advantages of simplicity and reliability, and it doesn’t involve the substrate effect.

Effect of L-carnitine on sperm quality during liquid storage of boar semen

        Yang Kang,Wang Na,Guo Hai-Tao,Wang Jing-Ran,Sun Huan-Huan,Sun Liang-Zhen,Yue Shun-Li,Zhou Jia-Bo 아세아·태평양축산학회 2020 Animal Bioscience Vol.33 No.11

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of L-carnitine on the pig semen characteristics during storage. Methods: Spermatozoa samples were examined for spermatozoa quality and then randomly divided into 5 groups: 0 (control), 12.5, 25, 50, and 100 mM L-carnitine. Sperm motility, plasma membrane integrity and antioxidant parameters (total reactive oxygen species, total antioxidant capacity, and malondialdehyde) were evaluated after 0, 3, 5, and 10 day cooled-storage at 17°C. Moreover, ATP content, mitochondria activity as well as sperm-binding and in vitro fertilizing ability of preserved boar sperm were also investigated. Results: Supplementation with 50 mM L-carnitine could effectively maintain boar sperm quality parameters such as sperm motility and membrane integrity. Besides, we found that L-carnitine had positive effects on boar sperm quality mainly through improving antioxidant capacities and enhancing ATP content and mitochondria activity. Interestingly, by assessing the effect of L-carnitine on sperm fertility and developmental potential, we discovered that the extender containing L-carnitine could improve sperm quality and increase the number of sperms bounding to zona pellucida, without improving in vitro fertility and development potential. Conclusion: These findings suggested that the proper addition of L-carnitine to the semen extender improved boar sperm quality during liquid storage at 17°C.

Design and Implementation of Hyperspectral Image Analysis Tool: HYVIEW

        Huan, Nguyen van,Kim, Ha-Kil,Kim, Sun-Hwa,Lee, Kyu-Sung The Korean Society of Remote Sensing 2007 大韓遠隔探査學會誌 Vol.23 No.3

Hyperspectral images have shown a great potential for the applications in resource management, agriculture, mineral exploration and environmental monitoring. However, due to the large volume of data, processing of hyperspectral images faces some difficulties. This paper introduces the development of an image processing tool (HYVIEW) that is particularly designed for handling hyperspectral image data. Current version of HYVIEW is dealing with efficient algorithms for displaying hyperspectral images, selecting bands to create color composites, and atmospheric correction. Three band-selection schemes for producing color composites are available based on three most popular indexes of OIF, SI and CI. HYVIEW can effectively demonstrate the differences in the results of the three schemes. For the atmospheric correction, HYVIEW utilizes a pre-calculated LUT by which the complex process of correcting atmospheric effects can be performed fast and efficiently.

Bi-Directional Wireless Power Transfer for Vehicle-to-Grid Systems

Sun, Yue,Jiang, Cheng,Wang, Zhihui,Xiang, Lijuan,Zhang, Huan The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2018 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.18 No.4

A current sourced bi-directional wireless power transfer (WPT) system is proposed to solve the problems that exist in the bi-directional WPT for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) systems. These problems include the fact that these systems are not safe enough, the output power is limited and the control methods are complicated. Firstly, the proposed system adopts two different compensation and control methods on both the primary and secondary sides. Secondly, based on an AC impedance analysis, the working principle is analyzed and the parameter configuration method with frequency stability is given. In order to output a constant voltage, a bi-directional DC/DC circuit and a controllable rectifier bridge are adopted, which are based on the "constant primary current, constant secondary voltage" control strategy. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed methods are verified by experimental results.

      • ANXA2 Regulates the Behavior of SGC-7901 Cells

        Sun, Meng-Yao,Xing, Rui-Huan,Gao, Xiao-Jie,Yu, Xiang,He, Hui-Min,Gao, Ning,Shi, Hong-Yan,Hu, Yan-Yan,Wang, Qi-Xuan,Xu, Jin-Hui,Hou, Ying-Chun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.10

ANXA2, a member of the annexin family, is overexpressed and plays important roles in tumor development. However, the significance of ANXA2 expression in gastric carcinoma has not been clarified. To elucidate its roles in growth of gastric cancer, ANXA2 expression in SGC-7901 cells was inhibited with a designated siRNA, then cell proliferation, cell cycling, apoptosis and motility were determined by MTT assay, flow cytometry, Hoechst 33342 staining and wound healing assay, respectively. To further assess the behavior of ANXA2 deleted SGC-7901 cells, changes of microstructures were observed under fluorescence microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy and electron microscopy. We found that inhibition of ANXA2 expression caused cell proliferation to decrease significantly with G1 arrest, motility to be reduced with changes in pseudopodia/filopodia structure and F-actin and ${\beta}$-tubulin expression, and apoptosis to be enhanced albeit without significance. At the same time, ANXA2 deletion resulted in fewer pseudopodia/filopodia, non-stained areas were increased, contact inhibition among cells reappeared, and expression of F-actin and ${\beta}$-tubulin was decreased, with induction of polymerized disassembled forms. Taken together, these data suggest that ANXA2 overexpression is important to maintain the malignancy of cancer cells, and this member of the annexin family has potential to be considered as a target for the gene therapy of gastric carcinoma.

Study on adaptive concentric performance of floating self-concentric seals

        Huan Zhao,Jindao Guo,Dan Sun,Min Zhou,Jinyu Jiang,Ping Wang 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.5

In present study, solution models for CTPS, CCPS, and LS were established to study radial pressure distribution of the seals and to analyze the effects of inlet/outlet pressure ratios and eccentricity ratios on floating concentric force. A floating self-concentric seal experiment apparatus was designed to study the effects of inlet/outlet pressure ratios and eccentricity ratios on response time and moving track of CTPS, CCPS and LS. The results show that CTPS has a good adaptive concentric performance, which is more suitable as a floating seal ring. Under different inlet/outlet pressure ratios and eccentricity ratios, CTPS always move towards concentric direction, and thereafter stabilizes at equilibrium location with a low eccentricity ratio, which is contributed to the greater floating concentric force counteracting friction force between the ball and plate. With the increase of inlet/outlet pressure ratio and eccentricity ratio, it takes a shorter floating response time to reach the equilibrium location.

        Huan Liu,Jie Bai,Chunping Li,Shan Wang,Yarong Huang,QI WANG,WEIYAN SUN 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2014 NANO Vol.9 No.3

Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs) embedded carbon nano¯bers (CNFs) were prepared by a new routewhich included chemical reaction process, electrospinning and calcination technique. The mor-phology and structure of the composite nano¯bers were investigated by scanning electron mi-croscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-raydi®raction. It indicated that Ag NPs were uniformly distributed in the CNFs. This e®ectivesynthesis method can be used to prepare other composite nano¯bers with functionality. The AgNPs/CNFs that served as supported catalysts were used in the styrene epoxidation by TBHP. The Ag NPs/CNFs catalyst showed its highly catalytic activity for the epoxidation of styrene(conversion: 40.6%, SO selectivity: 35.9%). This kind of composite nano¯ber membrane wasproved e®ectively catalytic activity and recycled easily in the styrene epoxidation.

Effects of feed intake restriction during late pregnancy on the function, anti-oxidation capability and acute phase protein synthesis of ovine liver

        Huan Yang,Ying Wang,Chi Ma,Chuan Sun,Yingchun Liu,Kaifeng Wu,Ming Li,Gerelt Borjigin,Feng Gao 아세아·태평양축산학회 2019 Animal Bioscience Vol.32 No.2

Objective: An experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of feed intake restriction during late pregnancy on the function, anti-oxidation capability and acute phase protein synthesis of ovine liver. Methods: Eighteen time-mated ewes with singleton fetuses were allocated to three groups: restricted group 1 (RG1, 0.18 MJ ME/kg W0.75 d, n = 6), restricted group 2 (RG2, 0.33 MJ ME/kg W0.75 d), n = 6) and a control group (CG, ad libitum, 0.67 MJ ME/kg W0.75 d, n = 6). The feed restriction period was from 90 days to 140 days of pregnancy. Results: The ewe’s body weight, liver weights, water, and protein content of liver in the restricted groups were reduced compared with the CG group (p<0.05), but the liver fat contents in the RG1 group were higher than those of the CG group (p<0.05). The increased hepatic collagen fibers and reticular fibers were observed in the restricted groups with the reduction of energy intake. The concentrations of nonesterified free fatty acids in the RG1 and RG2 groups were higher than those of the CG group with the reduction of energy intake (p<0.05), but there were decreased concentrations of lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase in both restricted groups compared with the CG group (p<0.05). In addition, the increased concentrations of β-hydroxybutyric acid, triglycerides, malondialdehyde, total antioxidant capacity and activities of superoxide dismutase activity and catalase were found in the RG1 group, and the concentrations of cholinesterase in the RG1 group were reduced compared with the CG group (p<0.05). For the concentrations of acute phase proteins, the C-reactive protein (CRP) in the RG1 group were reduced compared with the CG group, but there were no differences in haptoglobin relative to the controls (p>0.05). Conclusion: The fat accumulation, increased hepatic fibrosis, antioxidant imbalance and modified synthesis of acute phase proteins were induced in ewe’s liver by maternal malnutrition during late pregnancy, which were detrimental for liver function to accommodate pregnancy.

A Miniaturized Catadioptric Laser-Irradiation-Precision Test System

        Huan Liu,Hao Sun,Chunyan Wang 한국광학회 2021 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.5 No.2

In this paper a catadioptric laser-irradiation-precision test system is designed, to achieve a high-precision laser-irradiation-accuracy test. In this system, we adopt the method of imaging the entire target surface at a certain distance to realize the measurement of laser-irradiation precision. The method possesses the advantages of convenient operation, high sensitivity, and good stability. To meet the test accuracy requirement of 100 mm/km (0.01%), the coma, field curvature, and distortion over the entire field of view should be eliminated from the optical system’s design. Taking into account the whole length of the tube and the influence of stray light on the structure type, a catadioptric system with a hood added near the primary imaging surface is designed. After optimization using the ZEMAX software, the modulation transfer function (MTF) of the designed optical system is 0.6 at 30 lp/mm, the full-field-of-view distor-tion is better than 0.18%, and the energy concentration in the 10-μm-radius surrounding circle reachesabout 90%. The illumination-accuracy test results show that the measurement accuracy of the radiation hit rate is better than 50 mm when the test distance is 1 km, which is better than the requirement of 100 mm/km for the laser-irradiation-accuracy test.
