This study was carried out to grasp the awareness and habits of food intake and use the information for health education program in order to help healthy dietary life. The survey was done in cooperation with health manager in industries on 1,200 workers who was selected randomly from 5 types of industries from Sep. 2 to Oct. 31, 1995. The results are summarized as follows: 1) The percentage of subjects who assess themselves "Healthy" was more higher in female, in 20∼29 age group, in single, in daytime workers, in college graduate than other groups respectively. 2) As for the degree of health education satisfaction, 35.5% of the subjects answered "dissatisfaction" 3) As for the exercise, 52.7% exercised for their health and the rate of exercise was more higher in male, in 30 years age group, in single than other groups respectively. 4) The rate of smoking was 57.6% and the rate of drinking alcohol was 47.3%. 5) 92.8% of the subjects got stress everyday and the rate is more higher in female, in less than 19 years old, in single, in longer working duration, in lower income, in high school graduates, in workers of product field line than other groups respectively. 6) As for drinking times of coffee or soft drink, two times per day was 29.5%, more three times per day was 28.0%. As for the eating speed of meal, 46.0% of the subjects answered "fast" and the rate was more higher in male, in 30 years age group, in married group, than other groups respectively. 7) With regard to the level of preference to instant food, 23.1% preferred to take instant food. As for the level of preference to hot and salty food, 28.1% preferred to have hot and salty food. 8) The score of eating behavior was 3.38±32 point to 6 point full marks. 9) With regard to the correlation among related variables, the variables of gender, marital status and working duration had positive relation with the variables of regular meal intake, the preference to food intake between regular meals.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are considered as high potential filler material to improve the mechanical properties of epoxy nanocomposites. The CNTs are functionalized by attaching melamine to improve the dispersibility in epoxy matrix and to enhance the interfacial bonding between CNTs and matrix. The tensile tests and single edge notch bending (SENB) tests were performed for CNT/Epoxy and M-CNT/Epoxy nanocomposites at various weight fraction of functionalized CNTs. The M-CNT/Epoxy nanocomposites with addition of 2wt% functionalized CNTs exhibited enhancements of Young's modulus by 64% and ultimate tensile strength by 22%. Furthermore, a significant increase of fracture toughness by 95% was observed for 2wt% M-CNT/Epoxy nanocomposite. The homogeneity of CNTs in epoxy matrix has been analyzed and related to the improvement of modulus and strength. The phenomena of crack propagation has been investigated and related to the improvement of fracture toughness.</P>

국내 신재생에너지의 보급은 정부 보조금 지원을 통해 국내 지역별로 다양한 형태, 발전 용량으로 보급되고 있다. 그 중에서도 태양광 발전의 주택보급과 산간지역의 풍력발전 보급은 발전 규모와 설비가 대형화 되어 가고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 발전 시스템 지원을 위한 지역 기후 현황 분석과 발전 시스템과의 연계를 통해 특성을 분석하고자 하였다.

Rotaviruses belong to Reoviridae causes diarrhea in human beings as well as domestic animals. This study was conducted to see what type of human rotaviruses are distributed in Seoul and Kyung-gi province. Twenty two of 81 patients showed rotavirus positive with diagnostic kit and RNA electropherosis. We isolated all of rotaviruses from the patients. Electropherotypes of 22 isolates showed 4:2:3:2 pattern whereas those migration patterns were long type. All of those isolates belonged to group A. Twenty out of 22 isolates reacted with monoclonal antibodies specific to G1, P1A and subgroup II, whereas rest of them, A-29 and K-30 reacted with subgroup I specific monoclonal antibody. The nucleotide sequence of an isolate K-21 showed 98-100% and 90-96% homologies with those of Wa and KU strain, respectively.

We applied KF on CIGS film to modify CIGS surface with a wider-bandgap surface layer. With the KF deposition the surface of CIGS film had fine particle on the CIGS surface at 350 and 300°C. No fine particle was detected at 500 and 250°C. With the KF treatment, the Ga and O content increased at the surface, while the In and Cu content decreased. The valence band maximum was lowered with KF treatment. The composition profile and band structure were positive side of applying KF on the CIGS surface. However, the efficiency decreased with the KF treatment due to high series resistance, probably due to too thick surface layer. A smaller amount of KF should be supplied and more systematic analysis is necessary to obtain a reproducible higher efficiency CIGS solar cells.

Sageretia theezans, commonly known as Chinese bird plum, is an evergreen tender shrub of the Rhamnaceae family. In Korea, it grows along the southern seashore areas, and traditionally the leaves have been used as tea materials. Although S. theezans is widely used to create bonsais, it has been used in traditional herbal medicine for the treatment of hepatitis and fevers in Korea and China. S. theezans has been reported to show various pharmacological activities for neuroprotective, hepatoprotective and anti-oxidant. However, there have been only a few chemical composition studies of S. theezans so far. In this study, phytochemicals (1-11) were isolated from the ethanol extract of S. theezans leaves using different chromatographic techniques, and the chemical structures of isolates were elucidated as anthraquinone glycoside (1), five myricetin glycosides (2-6), three quercetin glycosides (7-9), a flavanol (10), and a simple phenolic compound (11) by NMR and mass analysis, and comparison to the literature. To the best our knowledge, compounds 1, 5, and 10 were obtained from the genus Sageretia for the first time.

<P>As society became more complex, the logistics also increased, demanding for logistics transport vehicles and feeder has increased. Because the self-weight of skate for cargo transport used in this study is heavy, it needs to be weight lightening. However there is a lack of capital and technology not to improve lasting. We conducted FEM studies about weight lightening applying composites on cargo transport skate and the stiffness can be obtained at the same time. However, due to the presence of discontinuities such as holes in the parts. If you are applying composite, Because this causes the degradation of the strength of the material under static and fatigue load induced stress concentration in parts. In order to examine the safety of the cargo transport skate, you must consider the impact of the static strength damage on the stress concentration because of the discontinuous parts. In this study, therefore, the cargo skate was performed to evaluate the structural analysis through the FEM analysis. As a result, it was found that CFRP compared to existing SM45C is superior 25% when considering the characteristics. It indicated the best results in about 30% of the weight lightening.</P>

<P>Background: This study evaluated the effect of a booster vaccination of a new, live attenuated, Japanese encephalitis chimeric vaccine (JE-CV). Previously this vaccine has been used as a booster 12 months after priming with an inactivated vaccine and at >24 months after priming with the same JE-CV. This study evaluates the immunogenicity and safety of the JE-CV given at 12-24 months after JE-CV priming. Methods: Phase III, open-label study in the Republic of Korea in which 119 children previously vaccinated with JE-CV at 12-24 months of age received a JE-CV booster at 12-24 months after primary vaccination. JE neutralizing antibody titers were measured using >50% plaque reduction neutralization test prebooster and 1 month postbooster vaccination. Seroprotection (SP) was defined as 10 (1/dil). Safety was assessed for 28 days postvaccination by parental reports. Serious adverse events were monitored for 6 months postvaccination. Results: Antibody persistence was high prebooster (SP rate 93.5%). There was a strong anamnestic response postbooster vaccination, with an SP rate of 100% and a >50-fold increase in geometric mean titer from the prebooster level. Both antibody persistence and the booster response were independent of whether the booster was given at 12-17 or 18-24 months. The safety profile was good and comparable with the primary vaccination; there were no vaccine-related serious adverse events and no deaths. Conclusions: This study confirms the suitability of a JE-CV booster vaccination at 12-24 months after a primary dose of the same vaccine given at 12-24 months of age in children in the Republic of Korea.</P>

A fuel cell power system among various alternative power sources has many advantages such as low-polluted, high-efficient, and heat-recyclable, thus it is now able to be up to hundreds MWh-scaled through improving feasibility and longevity of it. During the last few years of the twentieth century, much changed to stimulate new and expanding interest in fuel cell technology. This paper presents optimal design and operational features of stand-alone 500W PEMFC(Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell) system which can be a substitute instead fossil fuel. The stack of PEMFC is composed of 35 laminated graphite, and a unit cell of the stack has electrical characteristics as below; 14W, 0.9V, 15A. The other components of BOP(Balance of Plant) are composed of hydrogen and nitrogen tanks, regulators, 3way solenoid valves, mass flow meters, etc.
