<P><I>Cinnamomum cassia</I> Blume (CC) is one of the world’s oldest natural spices, and is commonly used in traditional oriental medicine. We investigated the protective effect of ethanol extract from <I>Cinnamomum cassia</I> Blume (CCE) on the activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). In addition, we examined the effects of CC powder in Sprague-Dawley rats with acute liver injury induced by dimethylnitrosamine (DMN). <I>In vitro</I>, HSC-T6 cells exhibit an activated phenotype, as reflected in their fibroblast-like morphology. CCE significantly reduced the expression of alpha-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β1), and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1). <I>In vivo</I>, the results were significantly protected by CC powder in the serum total protein, albumin, total-bilirubin, direct-bilirubin, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP). We suggest that CC inhibits fibrogenesis, followed by HSC-T6 cell activation and increased restoration of liver function, ultimately resulting in acute liver injury.</P>

본 논문은 PDA(Personal Digital Assistants)에서의 MPEG-4 BIFS(BInary Format for Scenes) 파서를 구현한다. 일반 데스크탑 환경의 MPEG-4 재생기에서 장면 구성은 BIFS 파싱 결과로 생긴 장면 그래프의 각 객체정보를 모두 렌더링 한다. 그러나, 이용 단말기인 PDA는 메모리 및 디스플레이 자원이 제한되어 있어, 기존의 데스크탑 환경에서 구현된 모듈들을 그대로 적용하기가 어렵다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 BIFS 파싱 결과로 나온 장면 그래프에서 생성된 드로어블 노드 리스트 중 제한된 자원의 PDA에서 디스플레이 가능한 노드들만을 추출하는 새로운 기술을 제안한다. 추출된 드로어블 노드 리스트는 MPEG-4 재생기의 렌더링 모듈에서 검색하여 장면구성 및 비디오/오디오 스트림이 재생된다. 이러한 과정을 내장형 리눅스가 탑재된 PDA에서 구현하고, 기타 이동장치에서도 이용 가능하다.

본 논문에서는 내장형 리눅스 기반의 PDA(Personal Digital Assistants)를 위한 MPEG-4 비디오 재생기를 제안한다. PDA는 CPU 및 메인 메모리, 디스플레이 장치가 일반 PC에 비해 제한적이다. 현재 다양한 멀티미디어 데이터를 처리하기 위해 WinCE, Epoc, VxWorks과 같은 운영체제들이 개발되었으나, 운영체제의 크기가 크고 상용이라서 구입비용이 많이 드는 문제가 있다. 또, 기존의 MPEG-1, MPEG-2 같은 비디오 데이터는 1편의 영화를 감상하기에는 데이터의 크기가 커서 자원이 제한된 PDA에서 재상하기가 어렵다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 실시간 운영체제인 내장형 리눅스를 탑재하여 PD의 제한된 자원을 효율적으로 사용하도록 하며, 데이터 압축률이 뛰어난MPEG-4 포맷의 비디오를 재생할 수 있는 내장형 리눅스기반의 MPEG-4 비디오 재생기를 재안한다. 제안하는 MPEG-4 비디오 재생기는 화상통신 및 화상회의를 이동 중에 할 수 있다. 또한 PDA를 위한 MPEG-4 스트리밍 서비스를 지원하는 시스템에 적용 가능하다.

Both WG and BG had no significant inhibitory effect on normal splenocytes, but on colon26-M3.1 carcinoma cells, BG showed significantly greater inhibitory effect than that of WG. Treating with either WG or BG extracts, the release of TNF-$\alpha$ was significantly decreased in response to lipopolysaccharide as compared with untreated control.

Important sources of disturbances torque inputs which may severely degrade the seeker tracking accuracy of a guided missile, involve friction torque, spring torque and mass imbalance torque of two axis gimbaled system of seeker. Stabilization performance means the stabilization degree of the line-of-sight rate between the seeker and target. It also means isolation ratio of seeker stabilization platform due to disturbance torque by vibration of aero dynamic change and missile's body motion. In this paper, I have simulated stabilization performance as of disturbance torque change by modeling the controller and two axis gimbaled system considering coupling and disturbance torque. I have verified the model, comparing the result of real system. I finally have optimized the result of simulation with using response surface method and present the disturbance torque standard for seeker disturbance torque optimization.

<P>Salinazinones A (<B>1</B>) and B (<B>2</B>), two unprecedented pyrrolidinyl-oxazinones, were isolated from the culture broth of <I>Streptomyces</I> sp. KMF-004 from a solar saltern at Aphae Island, Korea. The structures of these salinazinones, which are unusual and consist of 2-methylpropenyl-1,3-oxazin-6-one bearing 1-oxopyrrolidinyl substituents, were assigned by spectral and chemical analyses using Mosher’s method, circular dichroism (CD), and calculated ECD. Excessive activation of microglia causes the continuous production of neurotoxic mediators, which further causes neuron degeneration. Therefore, inhibition of microglial activation is a possible target for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders. Balanophonin, a natural neolignoid from Firmiana simplex, has been reported to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the anti-neuroinflammatory effects and mechanism of balanophonin in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)- stimulated BV2 microglia cells. BV2 microglia cells were stimulated with LPS in the presence or absence of balanophonin. The results indicated that balanophonin reduced not only the LPS-mediated TLR4 activation but also the production of inflammatory mediators, such as nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), Interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), in BV2 cells. Balanophonin also inhibited LPS-induced inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX2) protein expression and mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPKs), including extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK1/2), c-Jun Nterminal kinase (JNK), and p38 MAPK. Interestingly, it also inhibited neuronal cell death resulting from LPS-activated microglia by regulating cleaved caspase-3 and poly ADP ribose polymerase (PARP) cleavage in N2a cells. In conclusion, our data indicated that balanophonin may delay the progression of neuronal cell death by inhibiting microglial activation.
