This study aims to determine the polymorphism and mRNA expression pattern of the heart-type fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP) gene and their association with intramuscular fat (IMF) content in the breast and leg muscles of Baicheng oil chicken (BOC). A total of 720 chickens, including 240 black Baicheng oil chicken (BBOC), 240 silky Baicheng oil chicken (SBOC), and 240 white Baicheng oil chicken (WBOC) were raised. Three genotypes of H-FABP gene second extron following AA, AB, and BB were detected by polymerase chain reaction-single strand conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP) strategy. The G939A site created AA genotype and G956A site created BB genotype. The content of IMF in AA genotype in breast muscle of BBOC was significantly higher than that of AB (p = 0.0176) and the genotype in leg muscle of WBOC was significantly higher than that of AB (p = 0.0145). The G939A site could be taken as genetic marker for higher IMF content selecting for breast muscle of BBOC and leg muscle of WBOC. The relative mRNA expression of H-FABP was measured by real-time PCR at 30, 60, 90, and 120 d. The IMF content significantly increased with age in both muscles. The mRNA expression level of H-FABP significantly decreased with age in both muscles of the three types of chickens. Moreover, a significant negative correlation between H-FABP abundance and IMF content in the leg muscles of WBOC (p = 0.035) was observed. The mRNA expression of H-FABP negatively correlated with the IMF content in both breast and leg muscles of BOC sat slaughter time.

There are many complex optimization problems in the real world, and various evolutionary algorithms are proposed to solve them. Recently, the many-objective evolutionary algorithm using a one-by-one selection strategy (1by1EA) adopts a convergence indicator and a distribution indicator to balance convergence and diversity. However, the algorithm is too random in initialization and the fitness evaluation of solutions in the mating selection is single, which leads to poor performance in solving large-scale problems. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved method called 1by1EA-CHV by using circle chaotic mapping and a solution ranking mechanism based on the hypervolume (HV) indicator. We first map each component of solutions into a certain value space to initialize the population. Then, we calculate the contribution of each partition divided based on HV and apply the aggregation method to guide the reallocation of fitness, which achieves the ranking of solutions by using it before the old calculation method. To validate the performance, experiments compared 1by1EA-CHV with 1by1EA and other seven many-objective algorithms on large-scale functions, and the differences between these algorithms were analyzed statistically by a non-parametric test. The results showed the superiority of 1by1EA-CHV in solving large-scale many-objective optimization problems with up to 2000 decision variables.
Grafting sulfated zirconia on mesoporous silica
Wang, Yong,Lee, Kwan-Young,Choi, Saemin,Liu, Jun,Wang, Li-Qiong,Peden, Charles H. F. Royal Society of Chemistry 2007 Green chemistry Vol.9 No.6
<P>Recently, sulfated zirconia has received considerable attention as a potential solid acid catalyst to replace problematic homogeneous acid catalysts. In this paper, the preparation and properties of acid catalysts obtained by grafting ziconia with atomic precision on MCM-41 mesoporous silica were studied. TEM and potential titration characterizations revealed that ZrO2/MCM-41 with monolayer coverage can be obtained using this grafting technique. Sulfated ZrO2/MCM-41 exhibits improved thermal stability than that of bulk sulfated zirconia, as evidenced by temperature programmed characterizations and XRD analysis. Temperature programmed reaction of isopropanol was used to evaluate the acidity of sulfated ZrO2/MCM-41. It was found that the acid strength of sulfated ZrO2/MCM-41 with monolayer coverage is weaker than bulk sulfated zirconia but stronger than SiO2–Al2O3, a common strong acid catalyst.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>Sulfated zirconia solid acid catalysts were prepared by grafting zirconium oxide on mesoporous silica with layer-by-layer coverage, followed by depositing sulfate groups on the surface. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=b614928f'> </P>
Isolation and Characterization of Plutella xylostella Granulovirus Isolated in Korea
Wang Yong,Choi Jae Young,Kang Joong Nam,Kim Yang-Su,Choi Heekyu,Roh Jong Yul,Li Ming Shun,Jin Byung Rae,Im Dae Joon,Je Yeon Ho Korean Society of Sericultural Science 2005 International Journal of Industrial Entomology Vol.11 No.2
We have first isolated and characterized a Plutella xylostella granulovirus ($P_xGV$) from dead larvae of P. xylostella in Korea. The granule of $P_xGV$ was ovoidal shape with an approximate measure of $350-400nm{\times}150-200nm$, and each granule contained one single rod-shape virion with a mean size of $150-180nm{\times}20-30nm$. The major granule protein, granulin, had a molecular weight of approximately 29kDa. Whereas the nucleotide sequence of the granulin gene was identical to that of previously reported $P_xGV$, nucleotide sequences of two of three putative p10 genes were slightly different from those of reported $P_xGV$. These results suggested that the $P_xGV$ isolated in this study was a novel isolate containing different genomic information.
CURVATURE OF MULTIPLY WARPED PRODUCTS WITH AN AFFINE CONNECTION
Wang, Yong Korean Mathematical Society 2013 대한수학회보 Vol.50 No.5
In this paper, we study the Einstein multiply warped products with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection and the multiply warped products with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection with constant scalar curvature, we apply our results to generalized Robertson-Walker spacetimes with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection and generalized Kasner spacetimes with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection and find some new examples of Einstein affine manifolds and affine manifolds with constant scalar curvature. We also consider the multiply warped products with an affine connection with a zero torsion.
