Compact SPICE Modeling of LC Cell for TV Panel Simulation
Sukin Yoon,Taeyoung Won 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.49 No.III
In this paper, we report a novel compact SPICE modeling approach for LCD-TV panel simulation. The SPICE model for a unit cell of a TFT-LCD was established by taking all parasitic elements into account. In order to extract a circuit model from a layout of a unit cell, electrical connectivities of passive elements were generated through a smart pattern analysis with electrical information such as electrode and port, followed by the calculation of parasitic elements via a finite element method (FEM). We exploited a piecewise linear voltage-controlled-capacitor model for a liquid-crystal cell in an effort to consider voltage dependency of LC capacitance. Finally, we propose a novel model for kickback voltage which considers the interference of the adjacent bus lines as well as the liquid crystal.
An Interleaved Half-Bridge Bidirectional DC-DC Converter for Energy Storage System Applications
Sukin Park,Yujin Song 전력전자학회 2011 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2011 No.5
This paper describes a new interleaved bidirectional dc-dc converter for energy storage system applications. The proposed bidirectional dc-dc converter consists of energy storage system as input source and an interleaved half-bridge on both sides of high frequency transformer. The proposed converter can be easily extended to the multi-phase interleaved bidirectional dc-dc converter with modularity as the capacity of energy storage increases. The number of switching devices of the proposed converter is reduced by half count compared to the dual full-bridge dc-dc converter in parallel operation, and a high step-up voltage conversion is achieved with reduced transformer turn ratio and switching losses of all active switching devices are minimized through zero voltage switching without additional circuit components. The operation principle, mathematical analysis and simulation results are presented in this paper.
A New Parallel Hybrid Filter Configuration Minimizing Active Filter Size
Sukin Park,Jeong-hyoun Sung,Kwanghee Nam 전력전자학회 1998 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.- No.-
A conventional parallel hybrid active filter has an inherent problem of large current ratings of devices used in inverter. In general, this problem has been solved by adjusting turn ratio of a matching transformer. However, making the transformer with high turn ratio may be not available for high power system due to its requirement for high voltage insulation. In this paper, a new configuration is proposed for parallel hybrid active filter. In the proposed hybrid active filter, the active filter is connected to the passive filter inductor in parallel through a matching transformer for the aim of reducing the size of inverter. Through computer simulations, we have shown the outstanding performances of the proposed topology.

This paper proposes a balancing and driving control system for a bicycle robot. A reaction wheel pendulum control method is adopted to maintain the balance while the bicycle robot is driving. For the driving control, PID control algorithm with a variable gain adjustment has been developed in this paper, where the gains are heuristically adjusted during the experiments. To measure the angles of the wheels the encoders are used. For the balancing control, a roll controller is designed with a non-model based algorithm to make the shortest cycle. The tilt angle is measured by the fusion of the acceleration and gyroscope sensors, which is used to generate the control input of the roll controller to make the tilt angle zero. The performance of the designed control system has been verified through the real experiments with the developed bicycle robot.
Secure Collaborative Key Management for Dynamic Groups in Mobile Networks
Kang, Sukin,Ji, Cheongmin,Hong, Manpyo Hindawi Limited 2014 Journal of applied mathematics (JAM) Vol.2014 No.-

Mobile networks are composed of heterogeneous mobile devices with peer-to-peer wireless communication. Their dynamic and self-organizing natures pose security challenge. We consider secure group key management for peer dynamic groups in mobile wireless networks. Many group based applications have achieved remarkable growth along with increasing use of multicast based services. The key sharing among the group members is an important issue for secure group communication because the communication for many participants implies that the likelihood of illegal overhearing increases. We propose a group key sharing scheme and efficient rekeying methods for frequent membership changes from network dynamics. The proposed method enables the group members to simply establish a group key and provide high flexibility for dynamic group changes such as member join or leave and group merging or partition. We conduct mathematical evaluation with other group key management protocols and finally prove its security by demonstrating group key secrecy, backward and forward secrecy, key independence, and implicit key authentication under the decisional Diffie-Hellman (DDH) assumption.

The recent problems such as the rapid increase o electricity consumption, the large variation of electrical loads, and the sitting difficulty for new power plants could become a barrier to stable electrical power supply. Consequently, an electrical load management technology has become important, by which an electricity can be stored during off-peak time and efficiently used during peak time. The technology provides a variety of direct or indirect benefits which include, for utilities, reduction of new power plants, economical electricity production, and improved efficiency and reliability of power system and for consumers, low prices 0 electricity The study is to develop a proto-type load management system and Its application technology for a peak shaving In the system, conventional batteries are used as energy storage device
