Deciphering Key Genes of Proliferative and Secretory Phase Using Integrated Transcriptomics and Network Analysis

        Gupta Payal,Dube Shriya,Priyadarshini Payal,Singh Shanvi,R Anasuya Pravallika,Srivastava Vijay Lakshmi,Sengupta Abhishek,Narad Priyanka 한국미생물·생명공학회 2023 한국미생물·생명공학회지 Vol.51 No.3

Endometrium receptivity is a complex mechanism of intricate pathways that lead to the shift from the proliferative to the secretory phase. Our goal was to identify high-ranking differentially expressed genes and study the pathways associated with the phenomenon. Raw data were retrieved from six GEO datasets and 705 DEGs were identified through robust ranking aggregation after the integration of five datasets. 20 key genes were identified that were further re-validated in an additional dataset. Supporting evidence through the experimental references confirms them as major biomarkers of the shift from the proliferative to the secretory phase.

        Biocompatibility update

        Payal Saxena,Saurabh Kumar Gupta,Vilas Newaskar 대한치과보존학회 2013 Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics Vol.38 No.3

The purpose of a root-end filling is to establish a seal between the root canal space and the periradicular tissues. As root-end filling materials come into contact with periradicular tissues, knowledge of the tissue response is crucial. Almost every available dental restorative material has been suggested as the root-end material of choice at a certain point in the past. This literature review on root-end filling materials will evaluate and comparatively analyse the biocompatibility and tissue response to these products, with primary focus on newly introduced materials. Measurement of emission current and temperature profile of emissive probe materials using CO_2 LASER

        Payal Mehta,Arun Sarma,Joydeep Ghosh,Shwetang Pandya,Santosh Pandya,Paritosh Choudhuri,J. Govindarajan,C. Ionita Schrittwieser,Roman Schrittwieser 한국물리학회 2011 Current Applied Physics Vol.11 No.5

Emissive probes have been used for the direct measurement of plasma potential in many plasma devices. Different approaches have been introduced to measure the plasma potential using emissive probes. But the biggest disadvantage of the emissive probe is short life span due to its self-arrangement and different plasma environment. Few initiations have been made to measure plasma potential by using LASER heated emissive probe. In case of LASER heated emissive probe, mostly graphite and LaB_6 are being used as probe tip to emit electrons by heating with LASER light. However, very little studies have been done to understand the mechanism of heating process of the LaB_6 and graphite materials. The complete heating dynamics of these materials, heated by a CW CO_2 LASER with a maximum 55Wpower have been studied in this work. In-situ temperature of the probe tip has been measured by using an IR camera. Complete theoretical and simulated model have been developed to understand the experimentally measured data. Further, the experimental results are compared with ANSYS simulations. The emission current from the probe with respect to the bias voltage applied to the probe has also been measured.

Systematic Review on Design and Development of Efficient Semiconductor Based Surface Acoustic Wave Gas Sensor

Payal Patial,Manish Deshwal 한국전기전자재료학회 2021 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.22 No.4

In today’s digital world, the industries have adopted the automized machines that are remotely controlled. So in such environment various types of monitoring have become an essential part. One of them is gas sensing mechanisms that are implemented to monitor various types of harmful /toxic/fl ammable gases. As available in the literature, there are various methods available for the detection of such gases. In the present review, the authors are considering the Surface Acoustic Waves based gas sensors only. The present review paper discusses about various parameters that can be enhanced for an optimized sensitivity and the selectivity for a particular sensor. The present study also compares the bulk material sensing properties with sensing properties of thin fi lms. The thin films are generally distinguished from bulk material due to their thicknesses that are in the range of several nanometers but much less than 700 nm after which a material attains bulk properties.

Effectiveness of thaumaturgic distraction in alleviation of anxiety in 4-6-year-old children during inferior alveolar nerve block administration: a randomized controlled trial

Payal Kothari,Aditi Mathur,Rashmi Singh Chauhan,Meenakshi Nankar,Sunnypriyatham Tirupathi,Ashrita Suvarna The Korean Dental Society of Anesthsiology 2023 Journal of Dental Anesthesia and Pain Medicine Vol.23 No.3

Background: Dental anxiety is a matter of serious concern to pediatric dentists as it may impede the efficient delivery of dental care. If not adequately resolved, a persistent negative response pattern may emerge. Thaumaturgy, commonly known as magic trick, has become popular recently. It is a tool that distracts and relaxes the child by using magic trick while the dentist performs necessary treatment. Hence, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Thaumaturgic aid in alleviation of anxiety in 4-6 - year-old children during administration of local anesthesia using the inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) technique. Methods: Thirty children aged between 4-6 years with dental anxiety requiring IANB were included in this study. Patients were divided equally into two groups: Group I, thaumaturgic aid group and Group II, conventional non-pharmacological group using randomization. Anxiety was measured before and after using the intervention with Raghavendra Madhuri Sujata-Pictorial scale (RMS-PS), Venham's anxiety rating scale, and pulse rate. All the data were tabulated and compared using statistical analysis. Results: Children in thaumaturgy group (Group- I) exhibited significantly lower anxiety during IANB in comparison with children in the conventional group (Group- II) and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Magic tricks are effective in reducing anxiety among young children during IANB; Moreover, it expands the arsenal of behavior guidance techniques for treatment of children with anxiety and plays an important role in shaping the behavior of a child in pediatric dentistry.

Selectivity and Sensitivity Property of Metal Oxide Semiconductor Based Gas Sensor with Dopants Variation: A Review

Payal Patial,Manish Deshwal 한국전기전자재료학회 2022 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.23 No.1

This review paper exhaustively explores metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) gas sensors with prime focus to explore the ways for performance enhancement of a gas sensor. The paper discusses various aspects for a sensor and encompasses with several other gas sensors extensively. The fabricated sensors that are reported in the literature are compared and analyzed for a better understanding to the eff ects of diff erent dopants with diff erent MOS thin films. The present study is confined to the gases that are either highly toxic or inflammable in nature. The performance attributes like sensitivity, selectivity, as well as the stability of MOS gas sensors are influenced by a number of factors, that are discussed. The dopant-induced changes in MOS materials used in the gas sensing are also elaborated in the paper. The present study reveals the eff ect of dopant atoms to the structural and optical properties as well as the selectivity and sensitivity for particular metal oxides semiconductor and few semiconductor thin films. Dopants alter the microstructure and morphology of MOS, as well as their activation energy, optical absorption, and band gap, enhancing their characteristics for gas detection. Dopants may cause defects in MOS by creating oxygen vacancies. These defects improve the gas sensing capabilities. This study also looked at a variety of nanostructures. Finally, examples of MOS are provided to show how different MOS materials can be used for gas sensing. The review recognizes various aspects that can be utilized for enhancements of selectivity and sensitivity towards a particular gas for a sensor.

Effect of dentin biomodifiers on the immediate and long-term bond strengths of a simplified etch and rinse adhesive to dentin

        Payal Singh,Rajni Nagpal,Udai Pratap Singh 대한치과보존학회 2017 Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics Vol.42 No.3

Objectives: This in vitro study evaluated the effect of dentin biomodifiers on the immediate and long-term bond strengths of a simplified etch and rinse adhesive to dentin. Materials and Methods: Flat coronal dentin surfaces were prepared in 120 extracted human molars. Teeth were randomly divided into 5 groups (n = 24) according to 5 different surface pre-treatments: No pre-treatment (control); 1M carbodiimide (EDC); 0.1% epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG); 2% minocycline (MI); 10% sodium ascorbate (SA). After surface pre-treatment, adhesive (Adper Single Bond 2 [SB], 3M ESPE) was applied. Composite was applied into transparent plastic tubes (2.5 mm in diameter), which was placed over the bonded dentin surface. From each group, 10 samples were subjected to shear bond strength (SBS) evaluation at 24 hours (immediate) and remaining 10 samples were tested after 6 months (delayed). Additionally, 4 samples per group were subjected to scanning electron microscopic analysis for observation of resin-dentin interface. The data were statistically analysed with Shaperio‑Wilk W test, 2-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and post hoc Tukey's test. Results: At 24 hours, SBS of all surface pre-treatment groups were comparable with the control group, with significant differences found between EDC and SA groups only (p = 0.009). After 6 months storage, EDC, EGCG, and MI pre-treatments preserved the resin-dentin bond strength with no significant fall. Conclusions: Dentin pre-treatment with all the dentin biomodifiers except SA resulted in significant preservation of resin-dentin bond over 6 months storage period, without negatively affecting the immediate bond strength of the etch and rinse adhesive tested.

      • Performance evaluation of different shapes of headed bars in steel fiber reinforced concrete

        Sachdeva, Payal,Danie Roy, A.B.,Kwatra, Naveen Techno-Press 2021 Advances in concrete construction Vol.11 No.5

The behavior of headed bars in concrete is investigated through 108 pullout tests having an embedment depth of eight times the bar diameter in the M20 concrete mix. Headed bars are designed based on ASTM A970-16 and ACI 318-19 recommendations. The primary parameters used in this study are the steel bar diameter, the steel fibers percentage, and the head shapes. Three failure modes namely, Steel, Concrete-Blowout & Pull-Through failure have been observed. Based on load-deflection curves which are plotted to investigate the bond capacity of headed bars, it is observed that the circular-headed bars have displayed the highest peak load. The comparative analysis shows the smaller differences in the ultimate bond strength between MC2010 (0.89-2.26 MPa) and EN 1992-1-1 (2.32 MPa) as compared to ACI-318-19 (11-22 MPa) which is due to the absence of embedment depth and peak load factor in MC2010 and EN 1992-1-1 respectively.
