Reduced-Order Unscented Kalman Filter for Sensorless Control of Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor
Moon, Cheol,Kwon, Young Ahn The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2017 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.12 No.2
The unscented Kalman filter features a direct transforming process involving unscented transformation for removing the linearization process error that may occur in the extended Kalman filter. This paper proposes a reduced-order unscented Kalman filter for the sensorless control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The proposed method can reduce the computational load without degrading the accuracy compared to the conventional Kalman filters. Moreover, the proposed method can directly estimate the electrical rotor position and speed without a back-electromotive force. The proposed Kalman filter for the sensorless control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor is verified through the simulation and experimentation. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated over a wide range of operations, such as forward and reverse rotations in low and high speeds including the detuning parameters.

This paper investigates the application, design and implementation of unscented Kalman filter observer using the various scaling parameters for the sensorless speed control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The principles of unscented transformation and unscented Kalman filter are examined and their applications are explained. Typically the mapping transformation process is divided into two types, namely the basic unscented transformation and the general unscented transformation by virtue of the scaling parameter value. And resultantly, the number of sampling points, weights, code configuration and computation time are different. But there is no little information on the scaling parameter value or how this value influences the system performance. To analyze the unscented transformation with the various scaling parameters in this study, the experimental results under a wide range of operation condition have been demonstrated.
Design and Control of a Marine Satellite Antenna
Mooncheol Won,Sung-Soo Kim 대한기계학회 2005 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.19 No.1S
A three axes marine satellite antenna has been developed. As a design step, a CAD model for the antenna has been created according to the design requirements. Kinematic analyses are carried out in insure design specification and to check collision detection of the CAD model. Marine satellite antennas experience base motions. and a relevant control system should control the three antenna axis to point LO the satellites accurately. A sensor fusion algorithm and a PIDA (Proportional. Integral. Derivative. Acceleration) control algorithm arc designed and imple-mented to control the yaw, level. and cross-level angle of a small size satellite marine antenna. Antenna stabilization control experiments are performed using a test simulator which gives the antenna base motions. Experimental results show small pointing errors. which is less than 0.2 degree for the level. cross-level. and yaw axis.<br/>

In this paper, we develop a joystick manual driving algorithm for an electric vehicle called Cycab. Cycab is developed as a public transportation vehicle, which can be driven either by a manual joystick or an automated driving mode. The vehicle uses six motors for driving four wheels, and front/rear steerings. Cycab utilizes one industrial PC with a real time Linux kernel and four Motorola MPC555 micro controllers, and a CAN network for the communication among the five processors. The developed algorithm consists of two automatic vehicle speed control algorithms for normal and emergency situations that override the driver's joystick command and an open loop torque distribution algorithm for the traction motors. In this study, the algorithm is developed using SynDEx, which is a system level CAD software dedicated to rapid prototyping and optimizing the implementation of real-time embedded applications on distributed architectures. The experimental results verify the usefulness of the two automatic vehicle control algorithms.

In this study, we propose a control algorithm for Inertially Stabilized Platforms (ISP), which combines Disturbance Observer (DOB) with conventional proportional integral derivative (PID) control algorithm. A single axis ISP system was constructed using a direct drive motor. The joint friction was modeled as a nonlinear function of joint speed while the accuracy of the model was verified through experiments and simulation. In addition, various Q-filters, which have different orders and relative degrees of freedom (DOF), were implemented. The stability and performance of the ISP were compared through experimental study. The performance of the proposed PID-plus-DOB algorithm was compared with the experimental results of the conventional double loop PID control under artificial vehicle motion provided motion simulator with six DOF.

<B>ABSTRACT</B><P>Bacillus cereus has long been recognized as an important pathogen in foodborne poisoning worldwide. Fresh vegetables are often contaminated with enterotoxigenic B. cereus and have been implicated as a vehicle for the transmission of this bacterium. This study reports on the occurrence, virulence gene profile, and antibiotic resistance of B. cereus in fresh vegetables. Of 102 examined samples, 48 (47%) of the samples were contaminated with B. cereus (>1 log CFU/g) and 7 (6.8%) of the samples showed more than 3 log CFU/g. In total, 118 B. cereus isolates were examined for the virulence genes nheA, nheB, nheC, hblA, hblC, hblD, cytK, and entFM and for resistance to antibiotics. Of these B. cereus isolates, 70% harbored nheA, nheB, nheC, and cytK. Eighteen (80%) of 21 isolates from bell peppers possessed eight enterotoxin genes. B. cereus isolates were susceptible to imipenem, vancomycin, gentamicin, erythromycin, ciprofloxacin, and chloramphenicol, whereas 22.4% of isolates from garlic chives, 48.7% from perilla leaf, and 40.5% from romaine lettuce showed antibiotic resistance to rifampin and 6% of isolates from garlic chives exhibited resistance to tetracycline. Three isolates from garlic chives were resistant to both tetracycline and rifampin. Raw vegetables were revealed to be major sources of B. cereus containing multiple toxin genes and exhibiting antibiotic resistance. Therefore, the potential health risks of consuming these vegetables raw or undercooked should not be underestimated. This study provides basic information for monitoring the antibiotic resistance and toxigenicity of B. cereus in the food chain during vegetable distribution and for developing food safety management to reduce the contamination with and transmission of B. cereus.</P>

강문철,신현학,오형준,Kang, Mooncheol,Shin, Hyunhack,Oh, Hyungjoon 한국자동차안전학회 2015 자동차안전학회지 Vol.7 No.4
FMVSS226 Ejection Mitigation Impact Test is usually performed by real vehicle. But it is necessary to perform the test using by Reinforced B.I.W. with considering vehicle developing timing and roof rail airbag (RRAB) supplier capacity. We sometimes need tendency (quick data) instead of slow accurate data to fix RRAB design as proper timing. Test with Reinforced B.I.W. is helpful saving time and cost. But it should be confirmed how much different between vehicle conditioned test result and Reinforced B.I.W. conditioned test result. There are some points to be improved even in the test with vehicle. Understanding of deviation of Reinforced B.I.W. conditioned test result from vehicle conditioned test result is needed to get benefits with using Reinforced B.I.W. conditioned in the test.
