Energy Analysis of a Vapor Compression System Cascaded with Ammonia-Water Absorption System

        GULSHAN SACHDEVA,VAIBHAV JAIN,S. S. KACHHWAHA 대한설비공학회 2014 International Journal Of Air-Conditioning and Refr Vol.22 No.1

The first law analysis of a vapor compression–vapor absorption (VC–VA) cascade system iscarried out for a wide range of cooling capacity. While ammonia–water is the working pair in VAsection, R407C is used in VC section. The in°uences of change in cooling capacity, superheatingand subcooling in the condenser, temperature in the generator, degree of overlap in cascadecondenser, size of the heat exchangers etc. on the system performance are investigated. It isconcluded that the COP of the VC section of the cascade system could be improved by 146% andthe electricity consumption could be reduced by 64% compared to an equivalent VC unit. Separately the results showed the considerable increase in the generator heat when coolingcapacity was increased from 83.33kW. The COP of the cascade system at high cooling capacity isstrongly dependent on the performance of condenser.

      • Hybrid wind-solar power deployment in India: Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) and Renewable Energy Certificates (REC)

        Hardik K. Jani,Surendra Singh Kachhwaha,Garlapati Nagababu,Alok Das Techno-Press 2022 Advances in energy research Vol.8 No.4

The hybrid wind-solar energy concept has a big influence on the spread of wind and solar power projects in India since it combines the benefits of both industries while also providing extra benefits such as resource sharing such as land, infrastructure, and power evacuation systems. Furthermore, while the hybrid policy may reduce certain barriers to the installation of wind and solar energy in India, there are still some issues that must be resolved rapidly in order to ensure a sustainable installation. According to the study's findings, the installation of wind and solar power plants is significantly influenced by energy policy. The wind-solar hybrid energy strategy will also be crucial in the near future for growing the usage of renewable energy sources. Aside from that, the establishment of Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) and the restart of the trading of Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) would promote the quick deployment of standalone and hybrid renewable power projects throughout the nation, enabling it to reach 500 GW of installed non-fossil energy capacity by 2030.

EXERGY ANALYSIS OF A VAPOR COMPRESSION–VAPOR ABSORPTION CASCADE SYSTEM

        GULSHAN SACHDEVA,VAIBHAV JAIN,S. S. KACHHWAHA 대한설비공학회 2013 International Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refr Vol.21 No.4

In this paper, second law analysis has been done for the vapor compression–vapor absorption (VC–VA) cascade system. Ammonia–water is considered as the working pair in absorption section and R407C is dealt as the working °uid in VC section. Exergy destruction or the irreversibility rate is determined in each components of VC–VA cascade system, for a wide range of cooling capacity by considering a variable speed reciprocating compressor. Further in this, Coe±cient of structural bond (CSB) analysis is carried out to quantify the effect of varying the generator temperature, effectiveness of solution heat exchanger, inlet temperature of external °uids in evaporator/condenser and some other variables. Solution heat exchanger and the condenser are reported to have high CSB value, so have a great scope of improvement to reduce the irreversibility rate of the whole system.

Variant biochemical responses: intrinsic and adaptive system for ecologically different rice varieties

        Shamshad Ul Haq,Deepa Kumari,Prerna Dhingra,S. L. Kothari,Sumita Kachhwaha 한국작물학회 2021 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.24 No.3

India has a diverse range of agro-ecological conditions which support the cultivation of diferent rice varieties difering in the adaptation which is so important for sustainable development of rice crop. Specifc ecotypes of rice adapted to diverse conditions have divergence in their morphology, physiology, biochemistry, molecular function, agronomy, and stress response. In the present study, 12 diferent rice varieties viz., PB-1, PB-1509, Pusa-RH-10, CSR-30, HKR-47, PR-126, Govind, Sharbati, ADT-37, ADT-39, ADT-45, White Ponni, were selected for the study of intrinsic biochemical behaviour and these varieties belong to diferent Agro-ecological zones and basmati or non-basmati rice varieties. Amongst intrinsic biochemicals activity, the diferential response of radical scavenging, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and guaiacol peroxidase (POX) activities, were observed in the selected rice varieties at 14 days old seedling stage, developed under controlled growth conditions. Comparatively, North India region rice varieties displayed an enhanced intrinsic biochemical response than south India region rice varieties. Similarly, basmati rice varieties showed increased biochemical response compared to non-basmati rice varieties. Thus, the diferential biochemical responses (radical scavenging, SOD, CAT, and POX activities) observed creates a signifcant diference between rice varieties and provides valuable information about rice ecotype-biochemical interaction for sustainable adaptive value under diferent ecological conditions.
