Virtual Laboratory of Bottling Process with Temperature Control in an Autoclave
Jefry Anderson Mora,Dario Amaya 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.9 No.9
Technological advances in the area of virtual laboratories in recent years, have made possible the implementation of industrial processes in virtual environments for different purposes, such as monitoring and control of these processes, and as a didactic aid in the education field at professional level. This development offers the capability to navigate and control a graphical environment of a bottling process in the brewery industry. As well as being accessible from any virtual platform with internet access.
Study and Analysis of Semiconductors for the Development of Two-layer Solar Cells
Jefry Mora,Jorge Ospina,Darío Amaya 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Smart Home Vol.9 No.11
In the field of renewable energies, researchers have always looked for the improvement of the conversion method in solar cells, due to the fact that only 14% of the electrical potential is being used. That is why in order to increase efficiency, different designs and materials have been studied. One of the most viable ways is the technology of multilayer solar cells, which the recent investigations focused due to the fact this technique allows the possibility of achieving efficiencies above 30%. Despite the above, the problem of this technique is the cost of manufacturing, which compared to the commercial cells, is inferior in benefit - cost relationship. For this reason, this paper shows a study of different semiconductors to design a two-layer solar cell, with the aim of selecting the best combination of semiconductors according to their own characteristics and results according to the described method.
Tourism Demand for ASEAN Countries
Kamarudin Othman,Jefry Elias 세계문화관광학회 2008 Conference Proceedings Vol.9 No.0
Tourism industry plays one of the most important and dynamic industries roles in ASEAN economic development. It is providing employment and business opportunities for a wide section for the urban and remote community in the region. This situation has encouraged the tourism industry to be one of the sources of economic growth and country prosperity. The reasons for the increase of international tourists' arrivals in ASEAN are the suitability of its geographical location, similarities of natural resources, good tourism infrastructures, interesting cultures, heritage, tradition and hospitality. The governments' respectively to each country plays an important part in establishing supporting policies in promoting tourism in the ASEAN countries. This paper is to investigate a balance model of ASEAN tourism demand. The empirical analysis exploits the panel structure of the dataset for the 10 ASEAN countries of tourists over the period 1998-2005. The preferred model is the Fixed Effects and Random Effects. Based on the result a few policies will be recommended to the ASEAN countries in order to advance the tourism industries.

Trumpet Laminectomy Microdecompression for Lumbal Canal Stenosis
Jefri Henky,Muneyoshi Yasuda,Muhammad Zafrullah Arifin,Masakazu Takayasu,Ahmad Faried 대한척추외과학회 2014 Asian Spine Journal Vol.8 No.5
Microsurgery techniques are useful innovations towards minimizing the insult of canal stenosis. Here, we describe the trumpet laminectomy microdecompression (TLM) technique, advantages and disadvantages. Sixty-two TLM patients with lumbar disc herniation, facet hypertrophy or yellow ligament or intracanal granulation tissue. The symptoms are low back pain, dysesthesia and severe pain on both legs. Spine levels operated Th11–S1; the patients who had trumpet-type fenestration, 62.9% had hypertrophy of the facet joint, 11.3% had intracanal granulation tissue, 79.1% had hypertrophy of the yellow ligament and 64.5% had disc herniation. The average of procedure duration was 68.9 min and intraoperative blood loss was 47.4 mL. Intraoperative complications were found in 3.2% of patients, with dural damage but without cerebrospinal fluid leakage. The TLM can be performed for all ages and all levels of spinal canal stenosis, without the complication of spondilolistesis. The TLM has a shorter duration, with minimal intraoperative blood loss.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of waste valve and the delivery valve diameter on the 3-inch hydraulic ram efficiency. The waste valve is one important component of the hydraulic ram. The results showed that the diameter of the waste and delivery valves greatly affect the efficiency of hydraulic ram. The highest D’Aubuisson efficiency was 67.66% with the waste valve diameter of contained 2.75 inches and the in the waste valve variation of 2.75 inches diameter and delivery valve diameter of 2 2 inches. The lowest efficiency was 36.14% with the waste valve diameter of 2.25 inches and the delivery valve diameter of 0.6 inches.

The Indonesian Archipelago has a very complex geological history, along with equatorial warm sea temperature, resulting in diverse types of coral reefs and high diversity of coral reef fish. Many livelihoods of the coastal community are dependent on coral reef fisheries. The present study aimed to determine which region and location in the Indonesian Archipelago has the most diverse and abundant coral reef fish. The archipelago was divided into four regions: the Indian Ocean, Sunda Shelf, Wallacea, and the Pacific Ocean. Data were obtained from a national coral reef monitoring program of the Indonesian Research Center for Oceanography (RCO)-the National Board for Research and Innovation (BRIN). The reef fish data were collected using the underwater visual census method, from 321 belt transects on 24 locations (districts) across the archipelago. The results show that coral reef fish diversity of the Pacific region was the highest across the archipelago for all three trophic levels, i.e., corallivore, herbivore, and carnivore fish. The Pacific Ocean region also had the highest fish abundance for the three trophic levels. Comparison among locations revealed that the best ten locations in reef fish diversity and abundance were Sabang, Mentawai, Makassar, Selayar, Buton, Luwuk, Ternate, Raja Ampat, Biak, and Wakatobi. Wakatobi reefs showed their supremacy in carnivore fish diversity and abundance, while Biak reefs were the best in herbivore fish. The abundance of corallivore fish was also considerably high in Sabang reefs, but it is still lower than in Raja Ampat, Biak, and Wakatobi reefs. These results provide empirical evidence that the coral reefs of Wakatobi and Biak are the hottest hotspots of coral reef fish diversity and abundance in the Indonesian Archipelago.
