PWM-PDM Controlled Soft-Switching DC-DC Power Converter Operating at Battery Input
Hidekazu Muraoka,Mutsuo Nakaoka,Kenya Sakamoto 전력전자학회 2004 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.- No.-
This paper presents a innovative prototype of PWM soft-switching DC-DC forward type converter designed for specific low voltage large current condition at 24V battery input. To achieve soft-switching, prototype of ZCS PWM DC-DC forward type converter applies additional control mode at partial operating area. The proposed converter is controlled by dual modulation as PWM-PDM at low duty operation. The soft-switching forward converter controlled PWM-PDM dual control scheme which can efficiency operate over wide load ranges under conditions of ZCS and active voltage clamped<br/> switching is established.
Novel Drivers for Alcoholic Hepatitis and Alcohol-Promoter Liver Cancer
( Hidekazu Tsukamoto ) 대한간학회 2018 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2018 No.1
Most devastating sequela of alcoholic liver disease (ALD) are alcoholic cirrhosis, alcoholic hepatitis (AH), and liver cancer which collectively cause more than half million deaths annually in the world. As current therapeutic options are severely limited, identification of new therapeutic targets is urgently needed. Our integrated “omic” analyses of liver tissues from clinically relevant animal models and patients identify CASPASE11/4 (CASP11/4) and GASDERMIN-D (GSDMD) as novel drivers for a transition from chronic alcoholic steatohepatitis (cASH) to AH. This CASP11/4-GSDMD pathway is activated by translocated bacteria and responsible for programmed lytic cell death called pyroptosis of hepatocytes and hepatic macrophages, local dissemination of bacteria, PAMPs and DAMPs, and intense neutrophilic infiltration, a hallmark of AH. Genetic suppression of this pathway, abrogates liver bacterial load, hepatocyte death, and neutrophilic infiltration and improves the liver. Conversely, genetic upregulation of the pathway, worsens AH. If this pyroptotic pathway activation is excessive, endotoxemia and septicemia may ensue leading to systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), the major complication of AH. Alcohol and Western diet synergistically promote liver tumorigenesis but the mechanisms underlying this effect is elusive. Our study discloses a novel Wnt positive loop facilitated by stearoyl co-A desaturase (SCD) in activated hepatic stellate cells (aHSCs), which links liver fibrosis to liver tumorigenesis and drives tumor promotion by alcohol and Western diet via lipid metabolic reprogramming. Selective genetic ablation of Scd in aHSCs reduces tumor-promoting lipid metabolites in tumor microenvironment and abrogates tumor progression. Translational relevance of this finding will be discussed.
Human-Machine Interaction in Nuclear Power Plants
Hidekazu Yoshikawa 한국원자력학회 2005 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.37 No.2
Advanced nuclear power plants are generally large complex systems automated by computers. Whenever a rare plant emergency occurs the plant operators must cope with the emergency under severe mental stress without committing any fatal errors. Furthermore, The operators must train to improve and maintain their ability to cope with every conceivable situation, though it is almost impossible to be fully prepared for an infinite variety of situations. In view of the limited capability of operators in emergency situations, there has been a new approach to preventing the human error caused by improper human-machine interaction. The new approach has been triggered by the introduction of advanced information systems that help operators recognize and counteract plant emergencies. In this paper, the adverse effect of automation in human-machine systems is explained. The discussion then focuses on how to configure a joint human-machine system for ideal human-machine interaction. Finally, there is a new proposal on how to organize technologies that recognize the different states of such a joint human- machine system.
DISTRIBUTED HMI SYSTEM FOR MANAGING ALL SPAN OF PLANT CONTROL AND MAINTENANCE
HIDEKAZU YOSHIKAWA 한국원자력학회 2009 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.41 No.3
Digitalization of not only non-safety but also safety-grade I &C systems with full computerized Main Control Room (MCR) is the recent trend of I&C systems of nuclear power plants (NPP) around the world, while plant maintenance has been shifting from traditional time based maintenance to condition based maintenance. In order to cope with the new trend of operation and maintenance in NPP, a concept of online distributed diagnostic system for both plant operation and maintenance has been proposed in order to further improve both the plant efficiency and the work environment of plant operation staff members by organizational learning. In this respect, the research subjects of human machine interface (HMI) for the online distributed diagnostic system are also discussed for supporting the plant personnel at both MCR and local working places in the plant by the application of advanced ICT (Information and Communication Technologies).
Hidekazu Yoshikawa 한국원자력학회 2013 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.45 No.2
A comprehensive review on the technical standards about human factors (HF) design and software reliability maintenance for digital instrumentation and control (I&C) and human-machine interface technology (HMIT) in Japanese light water reactor nuclear power plants (NPPs) was given in this paper mainly by introducing the relevant activities at the Japan Electric Association to set up many industrial standards within the traditional framework of nuclear safety regulation in Japan. In Japan, the Fukushima Daiichi accident that occurred on March 11, 2011 has great impact on nuclear regulation and nuclear industries where concerns by the general public about safety have heightened significantly. However for the part of HF design and software reliability maintenance of digital I&C and HMIT for NPP, the author believes that the past practice of Japanese activities with the related technical standards can be successfully inherited in the future, by reinforcing the technical preparedness for the prevention and mitigation against any types of severe accident occurrence.

Tag Clustering with Social Bookmarking Data
Hidekazu Yanagimoto,Michifumi Yoshioka,Sigeru Omatu 한국멀티미디어학회 2009 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2009 No.-
We propose a tag clustering with social bookmarking data in this paper. In social bookmarking services, various kinds of data, for example, text data, image data, and movie data, and users use tags, which are keywords added to registered web pages, to administer the registered web pages. However, the tags are not limited to a particular vocabulary and are added to the web pages freely. Hence, though the same tag is added to web pages, it might have a difference of meaning for each web page. Thesauruses are not useful to solve it because of including neologisms and symbols. Hence, our goal is to solve the ambiguity of tags and to classify them according to their meanings. To achieve the goal we regard adding a tag to a web page as a link between the tag and the web page and construct a weighted bipartite graph between tags and web pages without their contents. To classify the tags according to their meanings, Probabilistic Latent Semantic Indexing is used to analyze the weighted bipartite graph. We carried out evaluation experiments using real social bookmarking data, Buzzurl and confirmed the proposed method classifies the tags precisely regardless of the ambiguity of description and meaning.
