Recently, one of the growing hot topics in the field of wireless network is to enable of Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN). It aims to solve the long delay paths and unpredictable link disruptions that occur in the challenged networks. In order to maintain a safe and secure DTN model, a secure way of key distribution would be required to provide robustness from all the attacks it suffers. This paper proposes a clear and illustrative security architecture for DTN with secure key management framework to distribute the cryptographic keys to the constituted nodes in a secure way. The performance of how the cryptographic keys work and perform during a node is departed away from the network are discussed. The distributed keys use the public key cryptography to mitigate during the network attacks. Along with the key management protocol, some degree of security features can be achieved with the bundle of security protocol to rescue the network model from any attacks.
Determining Compoundhood in Ígálà: From Universal to Language Specific Focus
2012 Journal of Universal Language Vol.13 No.2
In spite of the fact that compounding is really pervasive in the world’s languages and despite the huge volume of literatures on compounding in languages, a critical assessment of the extant literature on compounding reveals that providing satisfactory criteria for defining and or determining compoundhood still requires both language specific and cross-linguistic investigations for dependable linguistic generalizations. As it were, there are hardly any universally accepted criteria for determining compoundhood, hence the focus of reasearch is how to determine compounding across languages. In Ígálà,1 in particular, not much attention has been devoted to describing compounding. The present study therefore investigates compounding and or compound word formation in Ígálà, a West Benue-Congo language spoken in north central Nigeria. Defining compoundhood and distinguishing compound words in Ígálà, the study shows, favours semantic criteria such as unity of concept, semantic specialization, permanent aspect, and unitary representation of concept above phonological and syntactic considerations. Compounding generally has been found to be a highly productive word formation process in Ígálà in terms of forms and functions. For instance, apart from Noun + Noun nominal compounds, other compound types such as verbal as well as synthetic compounds have been attested in the language. Besides, in addition to the general function of lexical expansion through creation of new lexical categories or lexemes, compounding has been used copiously in naming concepts, particularly foreign institutions, ideas, items, objects and or concepts that were hitherto non-existent in Ígálà.

This work presents a comparative optimality account of primary stress assignment in Standard British English (SBE) and Nigerian English (NE), particularly from the point of view of Igala users of English as a second language. Data for this study included readymade exercises and already recorded cassettes, which deal directly with primary stress assignment in SBE. This is in addition to the researcher’s knowledge of these varieties of English, his choice of a native speaker of SBE as a language helper as well as useful pieces of information collated using wordlists. The method for elicitation of segments was mainly perceptual. The study has demonstrated how the constraint ordering in Standard British English is ‘naturally’ reordered in Nigerian English observing that the different constraint orderings notwithstanding, these constraints are the same, and are present in each of these varieties. It has shown also that Optimality Theory satisfies the requirement that any serious theory of phonology must rely heavily on well-formedness constraints, which means it must be committed to universal grammar, a fact that places the theory at an advantage over its predecessors

Puberty onset is a milestone in sexual development. A tumor suppress gene (TSG) network had been reported to be involved in the regulation of female puberty onset. The observations in rodents and primates showed a potential link between microRNAs and puberty onset. To figure out what miRNAs play roles in this important biological process, profilings of microRNAs in the hypothalamus of female mice from three different pubertal stages, juvenile [postnatal day (P10)], early pubertal (P25) and pubertal (P30) were performed on the Affymetrix GeneChip miRNA 3.0 Arrays, the cerebral cortex (CTX) was used as a control tissue. 20 miRNAs were shown to be differentially expressed in hypothalamus (fold change > 1.5, P < 0.05), but not in CTX during the transition from juvenile to pubertal. Four of them were validated by real-time quantitative RT-PCR (qRTPCR) method. 1018 genes were predicted as the targets of these miRNAs. Further bioinformatics analysis suggested that these target genes were involved in many important signaling pathways, especially in the cancer related pathways. We also found that about 90% of these target genes were expressed in the hypothalamus, as well as in the immortalized GnRH-producing GT1-7 cells, which provided additional evidence that these miRNAs could be female puberty onset related. Here we present a novel comprehensive data set of miRNA gene expression during the puberty onset; and it provides an important recourse for the future functional characterization of individual miRNAs and their targets in mouse hypothalamus and in GT1-7 cells.
Anthropologie und Gesellschaft in Buchners Woyzeck
Vol.0 No.52
