Numerical treatment of non-monotonic blow-problems based on some non-local transformations
Basem Attili 한국전산응용수학회 2024 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.42 No.2
We consider the numerical treatment of blow-up problems having non-monotonic singular solutions that tend to infinity at some point in the domain. The use of standard numerical methods for solving problems with blow-up solutions can lead to significant errors. The reason being that solutions of such problems have singularities whose positions are unknown in advance. To be able to integrate such non-monotonic blow-up problems, we describe and use a method of non-local transformations. To show the efficiency of the method, we present a comparison of exact and numerical solutions in addition to some comparison with the work of other authors.
Weight reduction and strengthening of marine hatch covers by using composite materials
Basem E. Tawfik,Heba Leheta,Ahmed Elhewy,Tarek Elsayed 대한조선학회 2017 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.9 No.2
The application of composites as an alternative material for marine steel hatch covers is the subject of this study. Two separate approaches are considered; weight reduction approach and strengthening approach. For both approaches Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was performed using ANSYS software. Critical design parameters of the composite hatch cover and FEA are discussed in details. Regarding the weight reduction approach; steel hatch covers of a bulk carrier were replaced by composite covers and a weight reduction of 44.32% was achieved leading to many benefits including fuel saving, Deadweight Increment and lower center of gravity of the vessel. For the strengthening approach; the foremost hatch cover was strengthened to withstand 150% of the load required by IACS for safer navigation while no change in weight was made between the steel and composite covers. Results show that both approaches are feasible and advantageous.
A Second Order Finite Di¤erence Scheme for Some Singularly Perturbed Boundary Value Problems
Basem S. Attili 장전수학회 2010 Proceedings of the Jangjeon mathematical society Vol.13 No.2
A numerical algorithm based on a second order finite di¤erence scheme is proposed to solve singularly perturbed linear two point value problems. The system is first decoupled partially into two independent subsystems, fast and slow components. Each subsystem then is solved separately using the proposed algorithm. We present some numerical examples to show the effciency of the algorithm.
Subclasses of Starlike and Convex Functions Associated with Pascal Distribution Series
Basem Aref Frasin,Sondekola Rudra Swamy,Abbas Kareem Wanas 경북대학교 자연과학대학 수학과 2021 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.61 No.1
In the present paper, we determine new characterisations of the subclasses TS∗C(α, β; γ) and TCC(α, β; γ) of analytic functions associated with Pascal distribution series Φm q (z) = z −R∞ n=2 (n+m−2 m−1)qn−1(1 − q)m(z)n. Further, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for an integral operator related to Pascal distribution series Gmq f(z) = R z 0 Φmq (t)t dt to belong to the above classes. Several corollaries and consequences of the main results are also considered.

In the present paper, a subclass of analytic and bi-univalent functions is defined using a symmetric q−derivative operator by means of Gegenbauer polynomials. Coefficients bounds for functions belonging to this subclass are obtained. Furthermore, the Fekete-Szego problem for this subclass is solved. A number of known or new results are shown to follow upon specializing the parameters involved in our main results.
The Typology of Pharyngealization in Arabic Dialects Focusing on a Rural Jordanian Variety
Basem Ibrahim Malawi Al-Raba'a,Stuart Davis 세종대학교 언어연구소 2020 Journal of Universal Language Vol.21 No.2
Pharyngealization, also known as emphasis, is phonologically a very productive process in most Arabic varieties. This study first overviews the typology of pharyngealization in Arabic dialects and then focuses on the analysis of pharyngealization (i.e., emphasis spread) in a subvariety of rural Jordanian Arabic, which differs considerably from other dialects. The preferred structure in this subvariety of Jordanian Arabic is the emphatic syllable (the domain of emphasis) which is the driving force behind the spread of emphasis from underlying emphatics to other segments. This study also offers an Optimality-Theoretic analysis of ES in this Jordanian subvariety, where EMPHATIC-σ is an undominated constraint whose hierarchical interaction with other high ranked and lower ranked constraints always favors candidates with an emphatic syllable over other candidates.

We consider the stability and bifurcation of the famous Brusselator chemical reaction-diffusion model. To reveal the mechanism with which the transition between the fast and slow process happens, we employ the slow-fast analysis method. For the stability, it is done through coordinate transformation in order to separate the system into slow and fast subsystems. We will use the integral sliding mode control law to show the anti- synchronization of the model for all initial conditions.

Micro-machining of dental ceramics namely as zirconium oxide is carried out through laser beam machining. Micro-channels of different sizes are fabricated under different laser parameters. The laser process performance is evaluated by considering the geometrical and quality responses associated with micro-channels. Laser intensity, pulse frequency, scanning speed and layer thickness per laser scan are opted as the influential controlling parameters. Geometrical characteristics of micro-channels include upper width (W U ), lower width (W L ), depth (D), taper angle of micro-channel’s sidewalls at right side ( q R ), and taper angle at left side ( q L ). Quality of the machined micro-channels is evaluated by means of surface roughness (R a ) of the bottom surface. Effects of each of the laser parameters on each of the geometrical and quality responses are studied in order to get the influential trends of laser parameters. SEM analysis is further performed to assess the micro-details of machining results. The results reveals that the shape and size of micro-channel are very sensitive to the variation in laser parameters. Two types of micro-channels shapes are obtained having V-shaped and U-shaped cross-sections. Furthermore, it is quite challenging to achieve the micro-channels with reasonable amount of lower width (W L ).
Ultrasound Guided Carpel Tunnel Syndrome Hydrodissection; It’s All About It
Basem Hamdy Fouda 대한신경초음파학회 2023 대한신경초음파학회지 (JNN) Vol.15 No.2
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is one of the most common entrapment neuropathies leading to median nerve compression, with a high prevalence in the adult population. The term hydrodissection (HD) conveys a process of nerve fiber separation from adjacent structures, thus alleviating the underlying nerve compression, helping in pain relief, and improving nerve functions subsequently. Several methods with different techniques and different injectates have been studied with variable results. This review aims at highlighting the efficacy and safety of CTS ultrasound-guided HD, discussing and evaluating different techniques and modalities, and covering the most practical points of this technique with evidence-based recommendations for its use.

In [2], Jahangiri studied the harmonic starlike func-tions of order; and he dened the class TH () consisting of func-tions f = h + g where h and g are the analytic and the co-analyticpart of the functionf;respectively. In this paper, we introduce theclassTH (;) of analytic functions and prove various coecient in-equalities, growth and distortion theorems, radius of convexity forthe function h; if the functionf belongs to the classesTH () andTH (;):
