In this paper the numerical method with a zonal embedded grid system was applied to the spin-up flow within a semi-circular container. Flow visualization was also performed on a rotating table. The results show that at a low level of damping (i.e. low viscosity and high liquid depth) a cyclonic cell produced initially near the left-hand-side corner of the container moves along a wall and merged with the cell on the right-hand-side.

In this paper, we report the numerical and experimental solutions of the axi-symmetric flows in the axial plane driven by an impingement of fluid from the bottom wall of a circular cylinder. We managed to visualize successfully the flow pattern shown on the vertical plane through the container axis. The numerical results are not show to compare well with the experimental results for the case of the Rossby number 3. Because the numerical results calculate on the assumption that vortex flows are axi-symmetric flow on the other hand real experimental results are show asymmetric flow. The numerical solutions reveal that inertial oscillation plays an important role at small Rossby numbers, or at a larger background rotation.

This study is a development of 245kV 40kA GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) with motor-drive mechanism. The Ultra high voltage GIS applicates an interception technology of hybrid arc extinguishing method and Motor-Direct-Drive-Mechanism for operation type. We will develope a compact GIS for construction of an intelligent substation by an applicated IT technology.

Theoretical and numerical studies are given to the sink flows within a rotating circular tank driven by the fluid withdrawal from a bottom circular hole. It was found that, when the upper free surface was set with no-slip boundary conditions, the Ekman boundary-layer develops not only above the bottom surface but under the top surface. The sink fluid is coming from the two Ekman layers, and the mass transfer from the bulk, inviscid region is dependent on the rotational speed. It is also remarkable to see that all the fluid gathered along the axis flows in a form of rapidly rotating fluid column having almost the same diameter as the bottom hole.

현재 국내 중전기 시장은 시장규모에 비해 다수의 기업이 참여하고 있기 때문에, 국내 중전기 업체간 경쟁은 더욱 심화되고 있다. 띠라서 국내 중전기 업체가 더욱 발전해 나아가기 위해서는 해외시장 진출 확대를 위한 수출용 전력기기의 개발이 시급하고, WTO 체제하의 시장 개방화 정책에 따른 국내외시장에서의 User의 요구에 부응하는 전력기기 개발이 절실히 요구되어 당사에서는 국책과제로써 IT 기술을 기반으로 하는 245㎸ Motor-drive형 초고압 GIS를 개발하게 되었다. 금번에 개발된 절연개폐장치는 변전소 자동회리는 세계적 추세에 맞추어 Bay Controller 및 전자식 변성기(NCIT)를 적용하였고, 자체 참고시험을 통해 확보된 피시품을 기지고 국제공인인증기관인 한국전기연구원(KERI)에서 IEC 국제규격에 준하여 그 성능을 검증하였다.

Self-blast circuit breakers utilize the energy dissipated by the arc itself to create the required conditions for arc quenching during the current zero. The high-current simulation provides information about the mixing process of the hot PTFE cloud with SF? gas which is difficult to access for measurement. But it is also hard to simulate flow phenomenon because the flow in interrupter with high current, SF?-PTFE mixture vapor and complex physical behavior including radiation, calculation of electric field. Using a commercial computational fluid dynamics(CFD) package, the conservation equation for the gas and temperature, velocity and electric fields within breaker can be solved. Results show good agreement between the predicted and measured pressure rise in the thermal chamber.
