A new method to calculate the equivalent stiffness of the suspension system of a vehicle
Zhao, Pinbin,Yao, Guo-Feng,Wang, Min,Wang, Xumin,Li, Jianhui Techno-Press 2012 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.44 No.3
The stiffness of a suspension system is provided by the bushings and the stiffness of the wheel center controls the suspension's elasto-kinematic (e-k) specification. So the stiffness of the wheel center is very important, but the stiffness of the wheel center is very hard to measure. The paper give a new method that we can use the stiffness of the bushings to calculate the equivalent stiffness of the wheel center, which can quickly and widely be used in all kinds of suspension structure. This method can also be used to optimize and design the suspension system. In the example we use the method to calculate the equivalent stiffness of the wheel center which meets the symmetric and positive conditions of the stiffness matrix.
Phase Noise Self-Cancellation Scheme Based on Orthogonal Polarization for OFDM System
( Yao Nie ),( Chunyan Feng ),( Fangfang Liu ),( Caili Guo ),( Wen Zhao ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2017 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.11 No.9
In orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, phase noise introduced by the local oscillators can cause bit error rate (BER) performance degradation. To solve the phase noise problem, a novel orthogonal-polarization-based phase noise self-cancellation (OP-PNSC) scheme is proposed. First, the efficiency of canceling the phase noise of the OP-PNSC scheme in the AWGN channel is investigated. Then, the OP-PNSC scheme in the polarization-dependent loss (PDL) channel is investigated due to power imbalance caused by PDL, and a PDL pre-compensated OP-PNSC (PPC -OP-PNSC) scheme is proposed to mitigate the power imbalance caused by PDL. In addition, the performance of the PPC-OP-PNSC scheme is investigated, where the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and spectral efficiency (SE) performances are analyzed. Finally, a comparison between the OP-PNSC and polarization diversity scheme is discussed. The numerical results show that the BER and SINR performances of the OP-PNSC scheme outperform the case with the phase noise compensation and phase noise self-cancellation scheme.
Effects of stiffening rings on the dynamic properties of hyperboloidal cooling towers
Jun-Feng Zhang,Huai Chen,Yao-Jun Ge,Lin Zhao,Shi-Tang Ke 국제구조공학회 2014 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.49 No.5
As hyperboloidal cooling towers (HCTs) growing larger and slender, they become more sensitive to gust wind. To improve the dynamic properties of HCTs and to improve the wind resistance capability, stiffening rings have been studied and applied. Although there have been some findings, the influence mechanism of stiffening rings on the dynamic properties is still not fully understood. Based on some fundamental perceptions on the dynamic properties of HCTs and free ring structures, a concept named “participation degree” of stiffening rings was proposed and the influence mechanism on the dynamic properties was illustrated. The “participation degree” is determined by the modal deform amplitude and latitude wave number of stiffening rings. Larger modal deform amplitude and more latitude waves can both result in higher participation degree and more improvement to eigenfrequencies. Also, this concept can explain and associate the pre-existing independent findings.
A new clustering algorithm based on the connected region generation
( Liuwei Feng ),( Dongxia Chang ),( Yao Zhao ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.6
In this paper, a new clustering algorithm based on the connected region generation (CRG-clustering) is proposed. It is an effective and robust approach to clustering on the basis of the connectivity of the points and their neighbors. In the new algorithm, a connected region generating (CRG) algorithm is developed to obtain the connected regions and an isolated point set. Each connected region corresponds to a homogeneous cluster and this ensures the separability of an arbitrary data set theoretically. Then, a region expansion strategy and a consensus criterion are used to deal with the points in the isolated point set. Experimental results on the synthetic datasets and the real world datasets show that the proposed algorithm has high performance and is insensitive to noise.

Background/Aims: Crohn’s disease (CD) primarily affects young female adults of reproductive age. Few studies have been conducted on this population’s ovarian reserve status. The aim of study was to investigate potential risk factors associated with low ovarian reserve, as reflected by serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in women of reproductive age with CD. Methods: This was a case-control study. Cases included 87 patients with established CD, and healthy controls were matched by age, height and weight in a 1:1 ratio. Serum AMH levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: The average serum AMH level was significantly lower in CD patients than in control group (2.47±2.08 ng/mL vs. 3.87±1.96 ng/mL, respectively, P<0.001). Serum AMH levels were comparable between CD patients and control group under 25 years of age (4.41±1.52 ng/mL vs. 3.49±2.10 ng/mL, P=0.06), however, serum AMH levels were significantly lower in CD patients over 25 years of age compared to control group (P<0.05). Multivariable analysis showed that an age greater than 25 (odds ratio [OR], 10.03; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.90-52.93, P=0.007), active disease state (OR, 27.99; 95% CI, 6.13-127.95, P<0.001) and thalidomide use (OR, 15.66; 95% CI, 2.22-110.65, P=0.006) were independent risk factors associated with low ovarian reserve (serum AMH levels <2 ng/mL) in CD patients. Conclusions: Ovarian reserve is impaired in young women of reproductive age with CD. Age over 25 and an active disease state were both independently associated with low ovarian reserve. Thalidomide use could result in impaired ovarian reserve. (Intest Res 2020; 18:200-209)

The influence mechanism of mean value components, noted as P0, on POD applications for complete random fields PC(t) and fluctuating random fields PF(t) are illustrated mathematically. The critical philosophy of the illustration is introduction of a new matrix, defined as the correlation function matrix of P0, which connect the correlation function matrix of PC(t) and PF(t), and their POD results. Then, POD analyses for several different wind pressure fields were presented comparatively as validation. It's inevitable mathematically that the first eigenmode of PC(t) resembles the distribution of P0 and the first eigenvalue of PC(t) is close to the energy of P0, due to similarity of the correlation function matrixs of PC(t) and P0. However, the viewpoint is not rigorous mathematically that the first mode represents the mean pressure and the following modes represent the fluctuating pressure when PC(t) are employed in POD application. When PC(t) are employed, POD results of all modes would be distorted by the mean value components, and it's impossible to identify P0 and PF(t) separately. Consequently, characteristics of the fluctuating component, which is always the primary concern in wind pressure field analysis, can only be precisely identified with P0 excluded in POD.
Expression of Cholera Toxin B Subunit and Assembly as Functional Oligomers in Silkworm
Gong, Zhao-Hui,Jin, Hui-Qing,Jin, Yong-Feng,Zhang, Yao-Zhou Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biol 2005 Journal of biochemistry and molecular biology Vol.38 No.6
The nontoxic B subunit of cholera toxin (CTB) can significantly increase the ability of proteins to induce immunological tolerance after oral administration, when it was conjugated to various proteins. Recombinant CTB offers great potential for treatment of autoimmune disease. Here we firstly investigated the feasibility of silkworm baculovirus expression vector system for the cost-effective production of CTB under the control of a strong polyhedrin promoter. Higher expression was achieved via introducing the partial non-coding and coding sequences (ATAAAT and ATGCCGAAT) of polyhedrin to the 5' end of the native CTB gene, with the maximal accumulation being approximately 54.4 mg/L of hemolymph. The silkworm bioreactor produced this protein vaccine as the glycoslated pentameric form, which retained the GM1-ganglioside binding affinity and the native antigenicity of CTB. Further studies revealed that mixing with silkworm-derived CTB increases the tolerogenic potential of insulin. In the nonconjugated form, an insulin : CTB ratio of 100 : 1 was optimal for the prominent reduction in pancreatic islet inflammation. The data presented here demonstrate that the silkworm bioreactor is an ideal production and delivery system for an oral protein vaccine designed to develop immunological tolerance against autoimmune diabetes and CTB functions as an effective mucosal adjuvant for oral tolerance induction.
