The X-ray pelvimetry is widely used for investigation of fetal weight determination by measuring the size of the fetal head. The report concerns 173 cases with Colcher-Sussman method from January 177 to December 31'80 at Soon Chun Hyan College Hospital. We measured fetal head diameter in both A-P and lateral projections. The brief results are as follows : 1) Among the total 173 cases, vaginal delivery is 88 cases and Cesarean section is 85 cases. 2) The rate of Cesarean section is increased over 35 years of age and 4,000 gm of birth weight. 3) The rate of Cesarean section is increased in abnormal presentation. 4) The relationship between the fetal head diameter and fetal weight is more significant in A-P puus lateral projection than A-P only. 50 The average size of the fetal head is 0.8cm larger in Cesarean section than in vaginal delivery.
Histiocytosis X의 폐 침윤에 대한 방사선학적 고찰(증례 보고)

Histiocytosis X is a rare disease of unknown etiology, characterized by development of granulomatous lesions with histiocytic proliferation. Pulmonary involvement occurs as part of generalized disease process or as a separate entity referred to as primary histiocytosis X. A case of unusual pulmonary X in a young child is reported with brief review of literature. In radiologic findings of chest, severe honeycombing with moderate pneumothorax was visualized in both lung fields.

Neuronal migrational anomalies are rare congenital malformations of the brain, and caused by interruption of normal migration of neuroblasts during the 2nd to 6th months of gestation. These anomalies include agyria/pachygyria complex, schizencephaly, heterotopia of gray matter, polymicrogyria. Six patients with migrational anomalies are evaluated by MRI. One patient has agyria/pachygyria complex anomaly, three patients have schizenceaphaly, and two patients have gray matter heterotopia. The patients have other associated anomalities, such as absence of septum pellucidum, and some have complex anomalies. MRI is better method to determine the migratory disorders than CT, because of better contrast between gray and white matter, and multiplanar capability of MRI. MRI is an excellent method for diagnosing these neuronal migrational anomalies.

The study was undertakedn to asses the changes in the size and densities of intracranial hematomas by analyzing the sequential C.T. examination of 23 patients at Soon Chun Hyang College Hospital from Jul. '80 to Aug. '81. The results were as follows: 1. The high densities of hematoma were reduced slowly in size and density. 2. The factors influence the rate of changes were the cause of hematoma, hematoma location, age and sex of patient, and initial hematoma size. 3. The C.T. findings that indicate complete absorption of hematomas were normalization of mass effect, not disappearence of hematoma densities. 4. In intracerebral hematoma, the high density of hematoma reduced it's density and mass effect about 4-6 weeks duration. 5. In subdural hematoma, about 7 weeks after head trauma, the C.T. findings were normalized.

During the period of 7 months from May 1989 to November 1989, 138 cases of 21 patients with traumatic injury on the knee, who underwent magnetic resonance imaging and were confirmed by arthroscopy at Soonchunhyang University Hospital, reveal the following results. 1. The accuracy for ligaments was 90.3% (sensitivity 92%, specificity 91%) 2. The accuracy for menisci was 80% (sensitivity 50%, specificity 90%) 3. The overall results of the ligaments and menisci were 82.5% of sensitivity and 89.4% of specificity. 4. MR imaging is an accurate mean for noninvasive assessment of the internal derangement of the knee, and may eventually replace the more invasive arthrography.

Simple abdominal X-rays that included kidneys, ureters, and bladder(KUB) were obtained in 557 outpatients to investigate the frequency of conctipation and its relation to various abdominal symptoms. Four-hundred and six patients presented with various abdominal symptoms as their chief complaints and the remaining 151 patients had other symptoms. The distribution of fecal material within the large intestine was scored and the fecal retention was classified as mild, moderate, and severe. Chief complaints and final diagnosis when established failed to predict the severity of fecal retention but moderate or severe fecal retention was observed in 64% of all patients and in 61% of 265 patients in whom no other cause of abdominal was identified. Constipation as defined by moderate or severe fecal retention on KUB may or may not be symptomatic but may be a much more common cause of various abdominal symptoms in Koreans than has been known. A KUB may be a simple and inexpensive tool in the diagnosis of constipation.
