캘리그래피는 아름다움과 신선한 감동을 주는 표현력이 강한 글자체로서 전달하려는 문화적 메시지와 특성에 따라 매우 다양하게 나타남을 알 수 있다. 이것은 한글이 우리의 정서에 맞는 감각이기 때문이며 캘리그래피의 영역은 무한하다고 볼 수 있다. 타이포그래피의 영역 속에 있으나 그 독자적으로 새로운 표현 가능성을 찾아내고, 디자인의 한 요소인 캘리그래피는 한 시대의 유행이 아닌 발전적 가능성을 충분히 내포하고 있는 것으로서 보다 근원적이고 새로운 사고와 연구를 통하여 그 개념을 정립하는 것이 중요한 과제가 될 것이며 디자인에의 적용 및 시도는 표현의 다양성을 추구하는 현대 디자인에서 강력한 표현 도구가 될 것이다. 캘리그래피에서 표현기법은 신중하게 선택해야 한다. 왜냐하면 표현기법에 따라 전달하고자 하는 정보의 이미지가 달라지기 때문이다. 최근 정보전달 효과를 극대화하기 위한 새로운 기법으로 캘리그래피가 여러 광고 매체에서 활용되어지고 있다. 그러나 잘못 전달되는 매체표현도 많아 정보의 사각지대가 되고 있다. 이러한 캘리그래피의 매체들은 직접적으로 전달하려고 하는 메시지를 보다 새로운 기법으로 표현함으로써 소비자들의 기억에 오래도록 각인되고 있다. 본 연구는 창조적 캘리그래피의 중요성을 인지하고 한글 캘리그래피의 효과를 더욱 높이기 위하여 다양한 도구를 활용한 표현기법을 통해 신선하고 독특하며, 새로운 표현기법을 구사하고 또한 각 브랜드별 캘리그래피의 표현 사례 및 분석을 통해 이에 따른 문제점 및 캘리그래피의 향후 발전 방향을 제시함으로써 캘리그래피의 미래에 대한 효과적인 메시지 전달 기능을 극대화 시킬 수 있도록 하는 것에 그 의의를 두었다. As calligraphy is expressive giving beauty and charge, it is various according to its cultural messages and characteristics. It’s because Hangul matches our emotion and we can see an area of calligraphy is infinite. Calligraphy belonging to typography but being one factor of design with new independent representability is not a fashion but have enough growing possibility, so through original thinking and research, arranging its concept will be an important study. Also, application and trying to design will be a strong expression instrument in modern design pursuing diversity of expression. We have to choose an expression instrument carefully in calligraphy, because an image of information depends on expression instruments. Nowadays, calligraphy is used in various advertisements as a new way for maximizing an effect of information delivery. However, there are many wrong media’s expressions so it is becoming a blind spot of information. These medias is stamped on consumers with a new technique expressing messages to deliver. This research recognizes importance of calligraphy and suggests its problems and future developmental direction through analysing examples of using calligraphy by brands. It puts meaning to maximizing the effective messages’ delivery function for the future.

21C 디자인의 움직임은 인간의 미묘한 요구를 보다 잘 수용하고 디자인으로 인해 인간이 좌절감을 느끼지 않게 하며, 소외되고 차별된 느낌을 받지 않는 인간사회를 보다 유연하게 만들고자 하는 새로운 사고의 움직임이어야 한다. 특히 공공시설은 장애인, 노인 등 사회적 약자가 이용하기 위해서는 장애물이 없이 공공시설 내부 및 편의시설에 접근할 수 있도록 물리적 접근성이 갖추어져야 하고 그 물리적 접근성은 물 흐르듯이 연속적으로 이루어져 있지 않으면 안된다. 영국의 식민지로 인하여 홍콩의 지하철은 매우 발달하였고 좁은 지상보다는 지하공간을 넓게 개발하였다. 세계 최초로 지하철을 개발한 영국의 기술로 홍콩의 지하철은 런던, 파리, 모스크바, 바르셀로나, 도쿄의 지하철과 함께 세계적인 사인시스템을 갖춘 것으로 평가된다. 따라서 홍콩의 지하철이 유니버설디자인의 개념이 적용된 것으로 예상하고 문헌과 현지 조사로 연구의 방법을 전개하였다. 홍콩의 지하철은 영국의 영향으로 일본보다도 유니버설디자인의 적용이 확실한 것으로 판단되었다. 에스컬레이터의 탑승 입구 바로 위에 화살표 사인이 배치되어 이동에 대한 인식을 직접적으로 갖게 하며, 콘코스에서의 노선색상은 천장, 벽, 바닥 등 이동환경에 모두 적용되어 있음은 완벽함을 추구하는 사례로 볼 수 있다. 차량내부의 교통약자를 위한 지정석이나 적절한 안전폴, 개별적 좌석의 개념을 도입한 디자인은 서로간의 불편함을 해소시키는 사례로 판단되며, 특히 모든 좌석의 측면에 설치된 유리칸막이는 서있는 사람의 가방이나 짐 등이 앉아 있는 사람의 신체에 닿는 것을 방지하여 개인 존중의 역할을 충분하게 하고 있었다. 이와 같은 배려차원의 설치는 홍콩지하철만의 유니버설디자인이 적용 된 사례로 생각된다. In 21C, design’s movement has to be a movement of new thinking that accepts human’s delicate requirements, doesn’t make human feel frustration, and makes society not giving a sense of alienation. Especially, public facilities should have physical approachability to inside or accommodations without obstacles for second class citizen such as the disabled and aged, and that physical approachability should be in a row. Because of been an England’s colony, Hongkong subway developed greatly and developed underground widely rather than ground. Thanks to England’s technique of first subway’s development in the world, Hongkong subway is considered equipping worldwide sign system with London, Paris, Moscow, Barcelona, and Tokyo. Thus, I researched literatures and site anticipating that Hongkong subway applies to universal design. Hongkong subway is judged that it applies to universal design certainly than Japan. An arrow near entrance of escalator gives recognition to move and application of route color to wall, floor, ceiling, and so on in concourse are examples of pursuing perfection. Design such as designated seats for trafficking weak, proper safety poll, and individual seats is an example for solving problems of inconvenience each other. Especially, glass partitions installed at the sides of all the seats prevent touching between standing people and luggages respecting individuals. These thoughtful installations are thought to be examples of only Hongkong subway’s application of universal design.
