Objectives : Obesity is not Overweight, it`s Overfat in body. The originator of Sasang(四象) Constitutional Medicine, I Je-ma(李濟馬) presented that different a body type, pathology, character in everybody at his book ≪Dong-uisusebowon(東醫壽世保元)≫. On this theory ground, many studies ascertain relationship of Obesity and Sasang(四象) Constitution. There was mainly report that relate Obesity and Taeeumin(太陰人) by high concentration of Triglyceride and Cholesterol. So we will report that ascertain which Sasang(四象) Constitution is most relationship with Obesity by body fat(kg), %body fat, %abdominal fat, BMI. Methods : The subject are 235 peoples over 19 age adults that have a comprehensive medical testing from 2001. August to 2002. Jun in College of Oriental Medicine, Woo-suk University. This subjects tested Body Composition Analysing and Questionnaire for the Sasang Constitution Classification(QSCC)Ⅱ.And then classify the subjects by Sasang Constitution, and analyse relationship with over body fat(kg), over %body fat, over %abdominal fat, over BMI. conclusions : The subjects are constituted 26.0% of Soeumin(少陰人), 36.2% of Soyang-in(少陽人), 37.9% of Taeeumin(太陰人), 0.0% of Taeyang-in(太陽人). Taeeumin(太陰人) occupy most number of over body fat(kg), over %body fat, over %abdominal fat, over BMI peoples(P<0.001).

The effects of acupuncture and moxibustion at ST 36 (足三里) acupoint on the changes of body weight, related serum lipids and leptin density of the stomach were investigated. 3 groups of male, 7 animals each, were ad libitum standard diet for 5 days. Body weight was effective decreased for 5 days after moxibustion at ST 36 acupoint and the density of leptin which was related food intake and body weight deficiency was decreased remarkerbly in the mucosa of stomach. Moxibustion on ST 36 affected the levels of total cholesterol, glucose, HDL-cholesterol, but acupuncture on ST 36 affected only the levels of total lipid, triglyceride, HDL cholesterol. It is considered that the treatment of acupuncture and moxibustion at ST 36 (足三里) have different effect actively on body weight, serum lipids and leptin density and moxibustion of ST 36 (足三里) can be applied as effective therapy for obesity.
