Objective To investigate the optimal sonographic method for diagnosing carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) in patients with diabetic sensorimotor polyneuropathy (DSP). Methods A total of 190 participants were divided into four groups based on DSP history and electrodiagnostic results of CTS. The absolute parameters were measured at baseline and the relative values were calculated: maximal cross-sectional area (CSA) of the median nerve throughout the carpal tunnel (Mmax), median nerve CSA at the forearm level (Mf), ulnar nerve CSA at the pisiform level (Upi), difference between Mmax and Mf (DMM), and difference between Mmax and Upi (DMU). Then, the optimal ultrasonographic parameters for diagnosing CTS, according to the presence of DSP, using absolute and relative cutoff values were analyzed. Results Median and ulnar nerve CSAs were significantly larger in the DSP group than in the control group. In the DSP participants, the mean Mmax, DMM, and DMU values were significantly larger in patients with both DSP and CTS than in patients with DSP only. The Mmax thresholds of 9.5 mm2 in the control group and 11.5 mm2 in the DSP group showed the greatest sensitivity and specificity for diagnosing CTS. The DMM thresholds of 2.5 mm2 and DMU thresholds of 4.5 mm2 had the greatest sensitivity and specificity in both the DSP and control groups. Conclusion Measurement of Mmax, DMM and DMU is an optimal ultrasonographic evaluation method for diagnosing CTS in patients with DSP.
가토모델에서 Lipo-PGE1이 복합조직이식편의 미세혈관신생에 미치는 영향

Purpose: The survival of composite graft is dependent on three steps, (1) plasmatic imbibitions, (2) inosculation, and (3) neovascularization. Among the many trials to increase the survival rate of composite graft, prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) has beneficial effects on the microcirculatory level with vasodilating, antithrombotic, anti-inflammatory and neoangiogenic properties. Lipo-PGE1 which is lipid microspheres containing PGE1 had developed to compensate the systemic and local side effects of PGE1. This study was proposed to determine whether Lipo-PGE1 administration enhanced the survival of composite graft through neovascularization quantitatively in a rabbit ear model. Methods: Fourteen New Zealand White Rabbits each weighing 3~4 kg were divided in two groups: (1) intravenous Lipo-PGE1 injection group and (2) control group. A $2{\times}1\;cm$ sized, full-thickness rectangular composite graft was harvested in each auricle. Then, the graft was reaaproximated in situ using a 5-0 nylon suture. For the experimental group, $3{\mu}g$/kg/day of Lipo-PGE1 ($5{\mu}g$/mL) was administered intravenously through the marginal vein of the ear for 14 days. The control group was received no pharmacologic treatment. On the 14th postoperative day, composite graft of the ear was harvested and immunochemistry staining used Monoclonal mouse anti-CD 31 antibody was performed. Neoangiogenesis was quantified by counting the vessels that showed luminal structures surrounded by the brown color-stained epithelium and counted from 10 random high-power fields (400x) by independent blinded observer. Statistical analysis (Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test for nonparametric data) was performed using SPSS v12.0, with values of p<0.05 considered significant. Results: The mean number of the microvessels was $15.48{\pm}8.65$ in the experimental group and $9.82{\pm}7.25$ in the control group (p=0.028). Conclusion: The use of Lipo-PGE1 facilitated the neoangiogenesis, resulted in the improvement of the survival rate of graft. On the basis of this results, we could support wider application of Lipo-PGE1 for more effective therapeutic angiogenesis and successful survival in various cases of composite graft in the human.
배기가스가 혼합된 고온 공기류에서의 CO 소멸특성에 대한수치해석 연구

The CO reduction characteristics of hot air stream diluted with exhaust gas in a perfectly stirred reactor (PSR) were investigated numerically. The dilution ratio (Ω), inlet temperature (Tin), and residence time () were considered as parameters to investigate the effects of those on the emission indices for CO and CO2 (EICO and EICO2). The roles of dominant reactions and the production rates of major species were analyzed. It was found from the EICO trend that the supplied CO in the air stream was consumed. The EICO increased negatively with Tin at fixed τ regardless of Ω. However, the magnitude of EICO and minimum inlet temperature for CO reduction showed complicated trend according to the variation of τ. It was identified that the OH radical, generated from the reactions, O2 +H ↔ O + OH and 2OH ↔ H+H2O, affected the CO reduction by the reaction, CO + OH ↔ H+ CO2. However, the CO emission ratio increased at sufficiently high inlet temperature range due to the thermal dissociation of CO2.
손상된 단일 뷰로부터 강인한 그래프 학습을 통한 원스텝 그래프 클러스터링

그래프의 노드 클러스터링의 성능을 높이기 위해 여러 개의 관계 정보를 활용하거나 데이터에 적합한 그래프를 구성하는 방법들이 존재한다. 이 논문에서, 다중(멀티)-뷰의 정보나 기타 추가적인 정보가 없이 손상된 단일(싱글)-뷰로부터 안정적이고 정확한 클러스터링을 하기 위하여 새로운 그래프의 노드 클러스터링 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 블록 대각의 인접행렬을 어떤 노드가 어떤 클러스터에 속하는지를 알려주는 클러스터 인디케이터 행렬의 곱으로 표현한다. 제안한 방법은 손상된 단일(싱글)-뷰로부터 인접행렬과 클러스터 인디케이터 행렬을 동시에 학습하며, k-means 클러스터링과 같은 후처리가 필요하지 않다. 다양한 데이터셋을 이용하여 제안한 방법의 효과와 강인성을 측정하였으며, 결과를 통해 제안한 방법이 제안된 최신의 다중(멀티)-뷰에 의존하는 모델이나 다른 후처리가 필요하지 않는 모델보다 더 우수함을 보였다.

IS-95와 IMT-2000 시스템에서 사용되고 있는 여러 종류의 길쌈 부호기를 부호율 1/2, 구속장 3인 길쌈 부호기로 한정하여, neural network의 LVQ(Learning Vector Quantization)과 PVSL(Prototype Vector Selecting Logic)을 적용하여 비터비 복호기에서 사용되는 PM(Path Metric)과 BM(Branch Metric) 메모리 수와 산술$.$비교 연산량을 줄임으로써 시스템의 단순화와 순방향 복호를 가능하게 한다. 구속장의 확장성 여부와 관계없이 간단한 응용으로 기존의비터비 복호기에 적용할 수 있는 새로운 비터비 복호기의 구조와 적용 알고리즘을 제시하고, 제시된 비터비 복호기의 합리성을 VHDL 시뮬레이션으로 검증 후, 기존의 복호기와의 성능을 비교 분석한다. In IS-95 and IMT-2000 systems using variable code rates and constraint lengths, this paper limits code rate 1/2 and constraint length 3 and states the effective reduction of PM(Path Metric) and BM(Branch Metric) memories and arithmetic comparative calculations with appling PVSL(Prototype Vector Selecting Logic) and LVQ(Learning Vector Quantization) in neural network to simplify systems and to decode forwardly. Regardless of extension of constraint length, this paper presents the new Vierbi decoder and the appied algorithm because new structure and algorithm can apply to the existing Viterbi decoder using only uncomplicated application and verifies the rationality of the proposed Viterbi decoder through VHDL simulation and compares the performance between the proposed Viterbi decoder and the existing.
