Penetration and Microleakage Assessment of Flowable Resin Applied on Carious Fissure Following Various Fissurotomy Techniques

        권세옥,이상호,이난영,지명관,윤영미 대한소아치과학회 2018 大韓小兒齒科學會誌 Vol.45 No.1

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of fissurotomy on the penetration and microleakage of flowable resins for carious fissures. A total of 250 extracted premolars with early fissure caries were selected and divided into five groups according to the fissurotomy; no fissurotomy (n = 50), fissurotomy with Fissurotomy® original bur (n = 50), fissurotomy with Fissurotomy® Miro NTF bur (n = 50), fissurotomy with SF104R tapered diamond bur (n = 50), fissurotomy with 1/2 round carbide bur (n = 50). Two types of flowable resins (UniFil®Flow, Filtek®Flow) were used as sealing materials. All samples were sectioned and observed using a stereoscopic microscope after thermocycling and immersing in methylene blue solution. The adaptation of flowable resin to the fissure wall was observed using scanning electron microscopy. The penetration of flowable resin into the carious fissure was significantly increased by fissurotomy, which also decreased microleakage. Fissure preparation using different burs showed a significantly different in penetration, but did not show any difference in microleakage. Unifil®Flow showed better penetration than Filtek®Flow, but there was no significant difference in microleakage. Fissurotomy can be used to increase the penetration of flowable resin into carious fissures and decrease microleakage.

2015 Oral Biology Research (Oral Biol Res) Vol.39 No.1

Tooth avulsion is a serious traumatic injury characterized by complete displacement of a tooth from its socket, disruption of the blood supply to the pulp, and exposure of periodontal ligament cells to the external environment. Avulsion of primary teeth has been reported to comprise 5.8% to 19.4% of all types of traumatic injuries to the primary dentition. Compared to the abundant literature on replantation of avulsed permanent teeth, literature on replantation of avulsed primary teeth is significantly limited. These case reports describe the treatment and follow-up relating to replantation of avulsed primary teeth. No negative consequences were observed in these cases, and the only specific finding was canal calcific degeneration, which is considered as a healing process for traumatized primary teeth.

      • Chromatographic Selectivity of Cyano-Bonded Silica Columns in RPLC Based on the Linear Solvation Energy Relationships

        Park,Jung Hag,Jang,Duk Jang,Kwon,Se Mok 嶺南大學校 基礎科學硏究所 1992 基礎科學硏究 Vol.12 No.-

Differences in chromatographic properties in RPLC of four brands of cyano bonded silica stationary phases are rationalized in terms of the type and relative strength of the solute-stationary phase interactions, which can be readily inferred from multiple linear regression analyses of retention data for a set of standard compounds on the stationary phases under study based on the linear solvation energy relationships(LSERs). Although four brands of cyano bonded columns studied (CPS-Hypersil, Ultrasphere cyano. Spherisorb-CN and μ-Bondapak-CN) have similar bonding density and have been prepared from monofunctional cyanopropysilane reagents, they possess quite different, relative hydrogen bonding (HB) donor and acceptor strengths. Comparison of the retention behavior on a cyano-bonded silica column with that on an ODS column shows that there are signficant differnces in the strength of HB interactions between the solute and the stationary phase on the two columns with different functionalities. Information on the differences in the interaction characteristics among brands of the cyano-bonded silica columns and between the ODS and cyano-bonded columns can be utilized to optimize the selectivity for a given separation on these columns.
