A Review of Recent Research on Automotive HVAC Systems for EVs
강병하,이현진 대한설비공학회 2017 International Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refr Vol.25 No.4
Automotive heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems are of particular interest from the viewpoint of improving fuel economy, especially in electric vehicles (EVs) such as hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), and battery electric vehicles (BEVs). This paper describes recent research on automotive air-conditioning and heating technologies after classifying them into heat pump applications, control and operation, heat exchangers, refrigerants, thermal comfort, localized HVAC systems, and additional energy-saving systems. Even though many researchers have applied the existing concepts and technologies for EVs, significant revamping efforts are necessary owing to the dynamic, transient, and local characteristics of vehicles.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions of a District Cooling System Utilizing Waste Heat from a Cogeneration Plant
강병하,CHANG HO YUN,김석현 대한설비공학회 2012 International Journal Of Air-Conditioning and Refr Vol.20 No.2
Reduction effect of greenhouse gas emissions from district cooling system by using waste heat froma cogeneration plant has received specific attention from the perspective of national energy and environmental policy, and was studied in this work. For each cooling system of a residential and commercial building, greenhouse gas emissions was estimated and compared to quantify reduction effect on emissions where the heat source of heat-powered cooling system was replaced with a cogeneration waste heat. In addition, to address the problem that the values of waste heat and CEF vary depending on variables such as national or geographical conditions, a general-purpose criterion to measure the utility of substituting a district cooling for a conventional system was suggested.
