세계 여러 나라 전통놀이를 통한 다문화교육이 유아의 다문화 인식 및 태도에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 세계 여러 나라 전통놀이를 구성하고, 이를 적용한 다문화교육이 유아의 다문화 인식 및 태도에 미치는 교육적 효과와 유아의 태도 및 행동변화에 미치는 영향에 대해 밝히는 것이다. 연구대상은 서울특별시 S구에 소재하고 있으며, 규모와 지역적 특성이 비슷한 2개 병설유치원의 만 5세 유아 38명으로, 본 연구에서 구성한 세계 여러 나라의 전통놀이를 15주간 실험집단에서 실시 하였고, 유치원 일과 중 유아들의 모습을 다양한 방법으로 기록하였다. 연구결과 세계 여러 나라 전통놀이를 통한 다문화 교육은 유아들의 다문화 인식 및 태도변화에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 유아들은 세계 여러 나라의 전통놀이를 여러 놀이 상황에서 스스로 즐기는 모습을 보였으며, 우리나라 전통놀이와 다른 나라 전통놀이에 대한 공통점과 차이점 이해를 바탕으로 다른 나라 놀이를 자연스럽게 즐기는 모습을 보였다. 또한 유아들은 하나의 교실 안에서 세계 여러 나라 문화에 대한 공존의 경험을 하였으며, 이는 유아들로 하여금 세계 여러 나라의 문화를 이해하고 수용하는데 기초가 될 것이라 생각된다. This Research was performed in order to investigate the influence of multicultural education through the traditional plays of diverse countries around the world on young children`s awareness and attitude; its purpose was to investigate children`s attitude and behavioral change after receiving multicultural education. This research`s result was summarized as follows. First, the experimental group who experienced multicultural education through the traditional plays of diverse countries around the world demonstrated significant improvement in overall awareness score. The scores of experimental group in consideration, respect, and openness toward multi-culture, the sub-factors of multicultural awareness, that it were higher than those of comparative group so that there was a significant difference, but there was no significant difference in another sub-factor, the acceptance of multi-culture. This result showed that multicultural education through the traditional plays of diverse countries around the world was effective in changing consideration, respect, openness toward multi-culture, all of which are the sub-factors of multi-cultural awareness. Second, to examine children`s attitude and behavioral change in the beginning of multicultural education through the traditional plays of diverse countries around the world, children showed little interest in multi-culture and low participation rate in activities. However, as experiment continued, children showed positive attitude and behavioral change as they began to have more interests in multi-culture and participate in not only Korean traditional plays but also other countries` traditional plays. This result demonstrates that multicultural education through the traditional plays of diverse countries around the world positively influences children`s attitude and behavioral change in multicultural awareness.
