내향성 발톱의 교정을 평가하기 위한 발톱 C커브 각도 계측 방법의 제안

In this paper, we proposed a new method to measure the C-curve angle of a toenail to evaluate an ingrowing toenail, and analyzed the measured angle of C-curve of toenail to find the related variables, such as, self-judged angle, presence of an ingrowing toenail, walking style, type of shoes, height of heel, the experience of foot care, education and occupation. Basically, in the study of ingrowing toenail, it is important for the C-curve angle of toenail to be a tool of measuring the degree of refraction of toenail, and of evaluating an ingrowing toenail. The survey was performed with questionnaires and the picture of the toenail of respondents were taken. The data from 197 respondents who are female students or female customers of the nailcare shop were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, and F-test (ANOVA). The results of this study were as follows. First, the measured angle of C-curve is very important to study the evaluation of an ingrowing toenail. Second, it is more fit to study the ingrowing toenail than the self-judged angle. Third, it is differed by the presence of an ingrowing toenail. Four, it is differed among the position of the center of mass during walking. Five, it is narrowed in the case of high hill typed footgear. Six, it is narrowed for the group not taken footcare.

P287 : Treatment of ingrowing toenails: comparison of surgical method to conservative method using shape-memory alloy

Background: Many techniques for the treatment of ingrowing toenails are described on the medical literature. The lowest recurrence rate is reported for the surgery removing the nail plate with partial matricectomy.Shape-memory alloy (KD wire) showed promising results in ingrown toenails. However, data of long term follow up and the comparison to the surgery is absent, and the adequate removal time of wire is unknown yet. Objectives: To compare the surgical treatment using partial matricectomy (PM) and the conservative treatment using KD wire (KD). And to find out the removal time of wire. Methods: We compared PM group(n:14) and KD group(n:39) in following parameters; pain relief, quality of life improvement, pain and discomfort during the procedures and during the next 3weeks, improvement of nail index by using clinical photos, and patient`s satisfaction with the treatments. We also compared nail index improvement in KD group at postprocedural day14 and day21. Results: PM group showed statistically significant (p=.025) better patient`s satisfaction over KD group. Other parameters showed no significant difference between the two groups. Nail index improvement of KD group showed no significant difference at postprocedural day14 and day21. Conclusion: We suggest that conservative treatment using KD wire is as effective as surgical treatment with partial matricectomy in the treatment of ingrowing nails and that the adequate application period of KD wire is 2weeks.

내향성 발톱 교정을 위한 크랄레젤의 적용법에 따른 효과성 연구

As a study on the effectiveness according to the application of kralle gel for the correction of ingrowing nail. this study suggests the measures for utilizing the kralle gel for the correction of ingrowing nail as follows, focusing on the results of comparatively analyzing the effectiveness for 28 days according to the application of kralle gel(the number of application). 1. When the nail is cared without the application of kralle gel recover, the ingrowing nail disease could be caused or worsen, which requires attention. 2. If the kralle gel recover is applied once and kept for 28 days, the ingrowing nail disease could be prevented. 3. If the kralle gel recover is applied twice and kept for 28 days, it could not only prevent the ingrowing nail, but also improve the ingrowing nail of people with ingrowing nail disease. 4. If the kralle gel recover is applied three times and kept for 28 days, the ingrowing nail of people with ingrowing nail disease could be improved and corrected. 5. If the kralle gel recover is applied four times and kept for 28 days, the ingrowing nail of people with ingrowing nail disease could be corrected. 6. If the kralle gel recover is applied five times and kept for 14 days, the ingrowing nail of people with ingrowing nail disease could be quickly corrected. Hopefully, the data of this study could be much helpful for the prevention of ingrowing nail and people with ingrowing nail disease.

내향성 발톱 교정에 관한 사례 고찰 연구

본 연구는 ‘내향성 발톱 교정에 관한 사례 고찰 연구’로서 보다 효과적인 내향성 발톱 교정 방안을 제안하고자 함에 있다. 고찰하여 분석한 결과 배민규, 윤천성(2022)은 내향성 발톱 예방 및 개선⋅교정을 목적으로 활용한 레진 젤(크랄레젤)을 활용한 내향성 발톱 교정 방법이 제품 활용 편리성, 문제점 등에서 다른 연구자들의 연구방법에 따른 문제점 등과 비교했을 때 활용 가치가 있을 것으로 판단했다. 다만 기존 다른 연구자들의 아크릴 스캅춰, Brace System, 실크, 와이어 등 제품들에 비해 교정 효과가 비교적 낮아 김경환(2022) 연구자가 내향성 발톱 교정 효과성 검증을 위해 활용했던 견인기를 함께 활용하기를 제안한다. 내향성 발톱 예방 및 재발 방지를 목적으로 배민규, 윤천성(2022) 연구자가 제안한 크랄레젤 리커버 1회 적용을 제안하고, 내향성 발톱 개선 및 교정을 목적으로 김경환(2022) 연구자가 활용한 견인기를 활용하여 발톱을 펴준 후, 배민규, 윤천성(2022) 연구자가 제안한 크랄레젤 리커버를 목적에 맞게 2~5회 적용하여 활용하기를 제안한다. 본 연구 자료가 내향성 발톱 질환으로부터 건강한 삶을 영위하기 위한 자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대해 본다. As “a case study on the correction of ingrowing nail”, this study aims to suggest more effective measures for the correction of ingrowing nail. In the results of considering and analyzing it, the correction of ingrowing nail using the Resin Gel(Kralle Gel) which was used by researchers Min-Gyu Bae & Chun-Sung Youn(2022) for the purpose of preventing, improving, and correcting the ingrowing nail, seemed to be more useful than other methods used by other researchers in the aspect of convenience of product use and problem. However, compared to the products like Acrylic Sculpture, Brace System, Silk, and Wire used by other researchers, the effect on correction was relatively lower, so it is proposed to be used together with the Retractor that was used by Kyeong-Hwan Kim(2022) for verifying the effectiveness on the correction of ingrowing nail. This study suggests applying Kralle Gel Recover one time suggested by Min-Gyu Bae & Chun-Sung Youn(2002) for the purpose of prevention & recurrence prevention of ingrowing nail, unbending the nail by using the Retractor used by a researcher Kyeong-Hwan Kim(2022) for the purpose of improving/correcting the ingrowing nail, and then applying Kralle Gel Recover 2-5 times suitable for the purpose, suggested by researchers Min-Gyu Bae & Chun-Sung Youn(2022). The results of this study are expected to be utilized as the data for enjoying a healthy life from ingrowing nail disease.

조갑 감입증의 27 예의 임상소견과 플라스틱 튜브 삽입 치료 결과

N/A Background: Ingrowing toenail is one of common dermatological disorders causing significant daily disability. Clinical study of the disease seems not to be enough. Objective: To elucidate clinical aspects of the disease and to evaluate the plastic tube insertion method for the treatment. Method: In 27 cases, clinical stages, sites and duration of lesions, duration and previous treatments were examined. The plastic tube insertion method was done in all of the cases and its results were evaluated. The method ws consisted of insertion of a longitudinally slitted soft flexible plastic tube between the lateral edge of the nail plate and the inflamed soft nail fold. Result: l. Age distribution showed 96% (26 cases) were between 15 to 36 years with mean 25 years. 2. Average duration of illness was 18 months. 12 cases (45%) was previously treated with various operative methods. 3. 9 cases wre involved in both feet and 18 cases in unilateral foot. Among the unilateral 18 cases, 12 cases were in right foot and 6 cases in left foot. 4. In each involved toenail 8 cases showed both side lesions and 19 cases showed one side lesions. Among the 19 cases 6 cases had medial side lesions and 13 cases lateral side lesions. 5. By the plastic tube method, 96% (26 cases) had immediate relief of the pain. But 63% (17 cases) showed recurrence and needed other treatment within 6 months. Conclusion: Predilection age of the ingrowing toenail was between 15 to 36. The most common site is the lateral side of the right great toe. The rate of the cure by the plastic tube method was only 37%. (Korean J Dermatol 2001; 39(7): 782-788)
