Management of indoor air quality of underground subway station is an important issue. The air handling unit (AHU) installed in the underground subway station is the main facility determining the air quality of station. Especially for removing particulate matters, it is important to operate the appropriate air filter. However, there is no quantitative test method for existing air filter in site. It is rarely known that the collection efficiency of air filter can satisfy the designed criteria or not. In this study, we surveyed the particle removal systems and we set the reference method using the mini-volume air sampler inside the AHU to evaluate the collection efficiency of different types of air filters. In addition, we applied the portable instrument based on the light-scattering method to the efficiency test. The method we applied in this study can be used in the evaluation of air filter in site.

This study simulated chilled water valve stiction (ratio 30, 60%) by EnergyPlus in order to develop a fault detection and diagnosis algorithm for Air Handing Unit (AHU) based on machine learning. The abnormal zone temperature and AHU power consumption generated by the chilled water valve stiction ratio were reviewed. It was determined that the chilled water valve stiction errors reduced the chilled water flow and increased energy consumption through temperature changes at each node point in the HVAC while also creating an unsuitable thermal environment. In the future, we will generate the fault data of various elements of AHU and develop AHU fault detection and diagnosis algorithms through machine learning.

Korea determined medium-term reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 30% in comparison with BAU(Business As Usual). In order to achieve the objective, prepared with sectoral, industrial and annual goals. The building sector is progressing many promotion strategies and projects to achieve reduction goal by 26.9%. The building sector account for 18.2% of the total energy consumption, cooling and heating energy is the most consumed. Therefore many efforts is progressing to reduce cooling and heating energy. In case of non-residential building a lot of cooling load, it is important to design energy saving HVAC system. Economizer is one of energy saving method for HVAC system. The purpose of this study is a comparative study the energy consumptions using a simulation program(Energy plus) for each type of Economizer.
