Audiogram in Response to Stimulation Delivered to Fluid Applied to the External Meatus
Miriam Geal-Dor,Shai Chordekar,Cahtia Adelman,Michal Kaufmann-Yehezkely,Haim Sohmer 대한청각학회 2020 Journal of Audiology & Otology Vol.24 No.2
Background and Objectives: Hearing can be elicited in response to vibratory stimuli delivered to fluid in the external auditory meatus. To obtain a complete audiogram in subjects with normal hearing in response to pure tone vibratory stimuli delivered to fluid applied to the external meatus. Subjects and Methods: Pure tone vibratory stimuli in the audiometric range from 0.25 to 6.0 kHz were delivered to fluid applied to the external meatus of eight participants with normal hearing (15 dB or better) using a rod attached to a standard clinical bone vibrator. The fluid thresholds obtained were compared to the air conduction (AC), bone conduction (BC; mastoid), and soft tissue conduction (STC; neck) thresholds in the same subjects. Results: Fluid stimulation thresholds were obtained at every frequency in each subject. The fluid and STC (neck) audiograms sloped down at higher frequencies, while the AC and BC audiograms were flat. It is likely that the fluid stimulation audiograms did not involve AC mechanisms or even, possibly, osseous BC mechanisms. Conclusions: The thresholds elicited in response to the fluid in the meatus likely reflect a form of STC and may result from excitation of the inner ear by the vibrations induced in the fluid. The sloping fluid audiograms may reflect transmission pathways that are less effective at higher frequencies.
Chinese Islam: A Complete Concert
Zvi Ben-Dor Benite 고려대학교 민족문화연구원 2017 Cross-Currents Vol.- No.23
Why study a Chinese “minority” and its history? The task of scholars of Chinese Islam since the 1990s has been twofold: on the one hand, we have wanted to study Islam in China in its Chinese social and cultural context, as opposed to imagining it as a single separate entity, and to show that its history is relevant and meaningful for Chinese history in general. One could almost say that this goal was achieved a while ago. The next task has been to make the study of Chinese Islam and its history meaningful and useful for the greater community of scholars of Islam in general. It seems to me that with the books reviewed here, and with others in the making, we are getting close to reaching this target. In 1910, Marshall Broomhall’s Islam in China declared that Chinese Islam was a “neglected problem.” These books show that it is no longer neglected, and no longer a “problem”; rather, it is an exciting topic. Indeed, a complete, even if not harmonious, concert.
순수물질의 PVT관계 계산을 위한 Perturbed Hard Sphere 모델의 적용
최호석,Dor Ben-Amotz 忠南大學校 産業技術硏究所 1996 산업기술연구논문집 Vol.11 No.2
We have calculated thermodynamic properties of pure fluids of using a simple perturbed hard-sphere equation of state (the Camahan-Starling-van der Waals equation, denoted CS-vdW). In this calculation, we have used both 2 parameter equation and 4 parameter equation. It has been observed that 4 parameter model has shown better agreement with experimental results than 2 parameter model. It is because σand τof real fluids mildly depends on temperature. Since, however, 2 parameter model also has shown considerably good agreement with experimental results within certain temperature range and has effectively calculated useful thermodynamic properties of fluids, it may have been used to estimate thermodynamic properties of various solvent molecules in real chemical processes.

Using the latest physical modeling and constrained by the most recent data, we develop a phenomenological parameterized model of the contributions to intensity and polarization maps at millimeter wavelengths from external galaxies and Sunyaev-Zeldovich effects. We find such modeling to be necessary for estimation of cosmological parameters from Planck data. For example, ignoring the clustering of the infrared background would result in a bias in ns of 7s in the context of an eight-parameter cosmological model. We show that the simultaneous marginalization over a full foreground model can eliminate such biases, while increasing the statistical uncertainty in cosmological parameters by less than 20%. The small increases in uncertainty can be significantly reduced with the inclusion of higher-resolution ground-based data. The multi-frequency analysis we employ involves modeling 46 total power spectra and marginalization over 17 foreground parameters. We show that we can also reduce the data to a best estimate of the cosmic microwave background power spectra, with just two principal components (with constrained amplitudes) describing residual foreground contamination.
