Prohibitin (PHB) is a chaperone protein which is highly conserved evolutionarily. It shows significant homology with the Drosophila cc gene which is considered important for development and differentiation of Drosophila melanogaster. Investigations have revealed an involvement of PHB in cellular proliferation and development, apoptosis, signal transduction, mitochondrial function and regulation of the estrogen and androgen receptors. Therefore, we conducted the present study to analyze mutations in the highly conserved region in Indian female breast cancer patients. Conventional PCR-SSCP and Automated DNA sequencing were performed with a total of 105 breast cancer samples along with adjacent normal tissue. Of the total, 14.2% (15/105) demonstrated a mutation status of prohibitin observed in our study population. We identified a novel missense mutation (Thr>Ser), a novel deletion of T nucleotide in an intron adjacent to intron-exon boundary and a previously determined missense mutation (Val>Ala). A statistically significant correlation was obtained which suggested that prohibitin may be associated with tumor development and/or progression of at least some proportion of breast cancers.
QoS Priority Based Femtocell User Power Control for Interference Mitigation in 3GPP LTE-A HetNet

In recent years, development of femtocells are receiving considerable attention towards increasing the network coverage, capacity, and improvement in the quality of service for users. In 3GPP LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) system, to efficiently utilize the bandwidth, femtocell and macro cell uses the same frequency band, but this deployment poses a technical challenge of cross-tier interference to macro users. In this paper, the novel quality of service based fractional power control (QoS-FPC) scheme under the heterogeneous networks environment is proposed, which considers the users priority and QoS-requirements during the power allocation. The proposed QoS-FPC scheme has two focal points: firs, it protects the macrocell users uplink communication by limiting the cross-tier interference at eNB below a given threshold, and second, it ensures the optimization of femtocell users power allocation at each power adjustment phase. Performance gain is demonstrated with extensive system-level simulations to show that the proposed QoS-FPC scheme significantly decreases the cross-tier intereference and improves the overall users throughput.
Mutable Encryption for Oblivious Data Access in Cloud Storage

Data privacy and access control policies in computer clouds are a prime concerns while talking about the sensitive data. Authorized access is ensured with the help of secret keys given to a range of valid users. Granting the role access is a trivial matter but revoking user access is tricky and compute intensive. To revoke a user and making his data access ineffective the data owner has to compute new set of keys for the rest of effective users. This situation is inappropriate where user revocation is a frequent phenomenon. Time based revocation is another way to deal this issue where key for data access expires automatically. This solution rests in a very strong assumption of time determination in advance. In this paper we have proposed a mutable encryption for oblivious data access in cloud storage where the access key becomes ineffective after defined number of threshold by the data owner. The proposed solution adds to its novelty by introducing mutable encryption while accessing the data obliviously.
Block Error Rate and UE Throughput Performance Evaluation using LLS and SLS in 3GPP LTE Downlink
Ishtiaq Ahmad,Zeeshan Kaleem,KyungHi Chang 한국통신학회 2013 한국통신학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2013 No.1
This paper provides a link and system level study of the downlink using OFDMA techniques based on LTE systems. At the link level, the Block Error Rate (BLER) performance curves are generated and 10 % points of BLER curves, calculated under SISO AWGN channel, are considered as reference to generate the SNR-to-CQI mapping. These mapping results are used in system level simulator (SLS) via MIESM link to system interface. Then the UE throughput is evaluated by considering proportional fair (PF), round robin (RR), and best CQI schedulers at different values of UE throughput CDF. In this paper we analyze that the PF scheduler outperforms other schedulers in fairness and average throughput, while the best CQI scheduler performs good under high SINR region. The RR is the best choice when resource allocation is to be done without considering any kind of channel condition.

World is moving towards digitization at a rapid pace, so the enterprises have developed information systems for management of their business. Empowering educational institutes with information systems are become very important and vital. Doing everything manually is very difficult for students, teachers and staff. Information system can enhance their efficiency and save a lot of time; this research proposed system will solve this issue by providing services like class room reservation, e-library facility, online submission etc. in a secured environment. Up till now limited attention has been paid to utilize robots and drones for automation inside educational institutes. Our proposed system incorporates robots and drones to fill this gap in automation being used in institutes. Through this research, the aim is to improve the efficiency of learning and services in educational institutions or universities.

The present article is planned theoretically to throw light on non-Newtonian Casson liquid flow and heat transport analysis over an exponentially stretching sheet with second-order velocity slip condition. The analysis of magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) is an important interdisciplinary field. One of the most imperative applications related to engineering problems is plasma confinement, liquid-metal cooling of nuclear reactors, and electromagnetic casting. The flow here is considered to be electrically conducting. The modelled equations of mass, momentum and energy transport are reduced into the nonlinear ordinary differential equations by employing a similarity approach which are then solved numerically by employing finite difference collocation process (a three-stage Lobatto IIIa scheme). The inspiration of convergence flow parameters on dimensionless velocity, temperature have been discussed graphically. The obtained results confirm that an excellent agreement is achieved for the Newtonian case with those available in the literature. Consequences establish that skin friction rises in the presence of Casson fluid parameter and the Nusselt number show enhancement for second order slip parameter.

Background: To determine the outcome and cost saving by placing ultrasound guided surgical clips for tumor localization in patients undergoing neo-adjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer. Materials and Methods: This retrospective cross sectional analytical study was conducted at the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan from January to December 2014. A sample of 25 women fulfilling our selection criteria was taken. All patients came to our department for ultrasound guided core biopsy of suspicious breast lesions and clip placement in the index lesion prior to neo-adjuvant chemotherapy. All the selected patients had biopsy proven breast cancer. Results: The mean age was $45{\pm}11.6years$. There were no complications seen after clip placement in terms of clip migration or hemorrhage. The cost of commercially available markers was approximately PKR 9,000 (US$ 90) and that of the surgical clip was PKR 900 (US$ 9). The cost of surgical clips in 25 patients was PKR 22,500 (US$ 225), when compared to the commercially available markers which may have incurred a cost of PKR 225,000 (US$ 2,250). The total cost saving for 25 patients was PKR 202,500 (US$ 2, 025), making it PKR 8100 (US$ 81) per patient. Conclusions: The results of our study show that ultrasound guided surgical clip placement in index lesions prior to neo-adjuvant therapy is a safe and cost effective method to identify tumor bed and response to treatment for further management.
