Light emitting devices (LEDs) are widely used in the liquid crystal display (LCD) industry, especially for LCD back light units. Therefore, much research has been performed to minimize manufacturing costs. However, the current process does not process LED chips from broken substrates even though the substrate is expensive sapphire wafer. This is because the broken substrates lose their alignment marks. After pre-processing, LED dies are glued onto blue tape to continue post-processing. If auxiliary alignment marks are stamped on the blue tape, post-processing can be performed using some of the LED dies from broken substrates. In this paper, a novel stamper module that can stamp the alignment mark on the blue tape is proposed, designed, and fabricated. In testing, the stamper was reliable even after a few hundred stamps. The module can position the stamp and apply the pattern effectively. By using this module, the LED industry can reduce manufacturing costs.

Multi-layer coating of silicon carbide and graphite on UO₂ nuclear pellet was carried out with a fluidized bed type chemical vapor deposition unit to enhance the inherent safety of the nuclear pellet and to develop a renovative coating process. Silane, propane and argon gases were used as the source and carrier gases to deposit silicon and pyrolytic carbon. Combustion reaction was performed in an inert argon atmosphere, which conditions were pre-determined by numerical evaluation of the combustion reaction between silicon and carbon to synthesize silicon carbide. Microstructural observation of the combustion products by scanning electron microscopy showed that the inner and outer pyrolytic carbon layers were equiaxed structure. Chemical analysis by Auger electron spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometry revealed that the middle layer formed by a combustion reaction was fine crystalline beta-silicon carbide.

The anticlastogenic effect of galangin, flavonoid derivative, was studied in vivo micronucleus test using C57BL/6 mice. The frequencies of micronuclei induced by N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG) in bone-marrow cells of C57BL/6 mice were significantly decreased by the simultaneous treatment or multiple pre-treatment of galangin. When galangin was orally administered at 0, 0.1, 1.0, or 10.0 mg/kg twice with 24 hr interval, together with intraperitoneally administered MNNG, there were suppressive effects in the tested doses. The most marked suppressive effect was observed in the treatment group of 1.0 mg/kg (64.5%), not in the treatment group of 10.0 mg/kg (36.3%). When galangin was multiply administered at 1/7 or 1 mg/kg for 7 days respectively, galangin showed higher suppressive effect in the treatment group of 1/7 mg/kg (23.5%) rather than in the treatment group of 1 mg/kg (13.5%). In another experiment, galangin was administered at 0.001, 0.01 or 0.1 mg/kg for 1 month respectively. The suppressive effects in one month treatment gradually increased with dose-dependent manner, although suppressive effects were not high. The results showed that galangin was effective in suppressing the frequencies of micronuclei induced by MNNG. Our study indicates that galangin is a potent anticlastogenic agent against MNNG.

A Series of 8 cases of bile peritonitis treated in the 3 year period, Mar. 1969 to Jan. 1972, is presented. In this group, half of the cases were of perforation of acute cholecystitis; other casees were of idio pathic and rupture of subcapsular cholangitic abscess. The chief pathology of the bile peritonitis is induced by a salt of Na. glycocholate and Na. tauro?cholate which irritate, weaken and destroy the peritoneum and serosa so that a serious stage of endotoxic shock may be induced, the diagnosis is difficult. The treatment of bile peritonitis is surgical. 2 deaths occured in this series.
마이크로 웨이브에 의한 Albite-Anorthite 이성분계의 결정화 특성

The three different compositions of albite (Ab) and anorthite (An) were melted and then held at 1200℃ for 64 h and 128 h in microwave and thermal radiation environments. The amount of crystalline phase for samples processed in a 2.45 GHz microwave field was near zero or much less than that for samples processed in a conventional furnace. These results showed that a microwave field affected the nucleation of plagioclase crystal in its two phase region. Therefore, a 2.45 GHz electromagnetic field could prohibit to form crystalline phase. Albite (Ab)와 anorthite (An)의 세가지 다른 조성들을 마이크로 웨이브와 재래식 열파의 분위기에서 녹인 후 1200℃에서 64시간과 128시간 동안유지시켰다. 2.45GHz 마이크로 웨이브 에너지에 의해서 만들어진 시료 결정상의 양은 재래식 열파에 의해서 만들어진 시료 결정상의 양보다 훨씬 적거나 거의 존재하지 않았다. 그 결과 마이크로 웨이브가 二相영역에서 plagioclase 결정의 핵생성에 영향을 미치므로 2.45 GHz 전자기파가 용융상태에서 결정상의 형성을 저해한다고 추정된다.

<P>We report a temperature-dependent optical spectroscopic study of the Heisenberg-Kitaev magnet alpha-RuCl3. Our measurements reveal anomalies in the optical response near the magnetic ordering temperature. At higher temperatures, we observe a redistribution of spectral weight over a broad energy range that is associated with nearest-neighbor spin-spin correlations. This finding is consistent with highly frustrated magnetic interactions and in agreement with theoretical expectations for this class of material. The optical data also reveal significant electron-hole interaction effects, including a bound excitonic state. These results demonstrate a clear coupling between charge and spin degrees of freedom and provide insight into the properties of thermally disordered Heisenberg-Kitaev magnets.</P>
