      • A Characteristic-Preserving Steganographic Method Based on Revision Identifiers

        Since the majority of the available steganographic schemes in OOXML format documents suffered the disadvantages of unsatisfactory anti-detection capability and security level, a characteristic-preserving steganographic method with high security is proposed in this paper. The proposed method embeds secret information by replacing the last three bytes of the values of the revision identifiers in the main document body of the OOXML format document, while preserving the normal characteristics of the document. Meanwhile, position marks are added to track the locations of the embedded information. In order to keep the internal data consistency of the document, the newly created values are added into other related parts. Experimental results show that the method not only possesses good imperceptibility and anti-detection capability, but also has high security and large embedding capacity.

      • On the Existence of Subliminal Channel in Instant Messaging Systems

        Subliminal channel is a covert communication channel that can securely exchange secret information. By analyzing the communication protocols and encryption algorithms of two popular instant messaging systems QQ and Skype, this paper devotes the efforts to find whether they satisfy the condition of establishing subliminal channel or not. The broad-band subliminal channel can be established in Skype and QQ messages. Therefore, two subliminal channel schemes are proposed to embed and extract subliminal information. Finally, performances of the proposed subliminal channels are compared with those of the ones based on ElGamal digital signature and Newton channel. Experimental results and theoretical analysis show that they are easy to be implemented with large bandwidth and execute fast.

        Generative Linguistic Steganography: A Comprehensive Review

        Text steganography is one of the most imminent and promising research interests in the information security field. With the unprecedented success of the neural network and natural language processing (NLP), the last years have seen a surge of research on generative linguistic steganography (GLS). This paper provides a thorough and comprehensive review to summarize the existing key contributions, and creates a novel taxonomy for GLS according to NLP techniques and steganographic encoding algorithm, then summarizes the characteristics of generative linguistic steganographic methods properly to analyze the relationship and difference between each type of them. Meanwhile, this paper also comprehensively introduces and analyzes several evaluation metrics to evaluate the performance of GLS from diverse perspective. Finally, this paper concludes the future research work, which is more conducive to the follow-up research and innovation of researchers.

        Nanofibrous Membranes with High Air Permeability and Fluffy Structure based on Low Temperature Electrospinning Technology

        Due to its small diameter and high density, electrospun nanofiber membranes have high resistance which obstaclestheir application. In this paper, we proposed a new electrospinning method based on low-temperature, which can affect thedeposition process of electrospinning by utilizing the freezing process of steam in the receiving plate. The filling andsupporting of ice could enlarge the pores of membranes and intervals among fibers, which caused the high porosity (92 %),rough surface, fluffy structure and low pressure drop (123 Pa) of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofibrous membranes. The results suggested that the electrospinning method is a promising way to prepare nanofibrous membranes with high airpermeability and fluffy structure for air filtration.

        SOC Test Compression Scheme Sharing Free Variables in Embedded Deterministic Test Environment

        This paper presents a new SOC test compression scheme in Embedded Deterministic Test (EDT) compression environment. Compressed test data is brought over the TAM from the tester to the cores in SOC and decompressed in the cores. The proposed scheme allows cores tested at the same time to share some test channels. By sharing free variables in these channels across test cubes of different cores decompressed at the same time, high encoding efficiency is achieved. Moreover, no excess control data is required in this scheme. The ability to reuse excess free variables eliminates the need for high precision in matching the number of test channels with the number of care bits for every core. Experimental results obtained for some SOC designs illustrate effectiveness of the proposed test application scheme.

        Reducing Test Power and Improving Test Effectiveness for Logic BIST

        Excessive power dissipation is one of the major issues in the testing of VLSI systems. Many techniques are proposed for scan test, but there are not so many for logic BIST because of its unmanageable randomness. This paper presents a novel low switching activity BIST scheme that reduces toggle frequency in the majority of scan chain inputs while allowing a small portion of scan chains to receive pseudorandom test data. Reducing toggle frequency in the scan chain inputs can reduce test power but may result in fault coverage loss. Allowing a small portion of scan chains to receive pseudorandom test data can make better uniform distribution of 0 and 1 and improve test effectiveness significantly. When compared with existing methods, experimental results on larger benchmark circuits of ISCAS’89 show that the proposed strategy can not only reduce significantly switching activity in circuits under test but also achieve high fault coverage.

        TFPI inhibits breast cancer progression by suppressing ERK/p38 MAPK signaling pathway

        Background: Tissue factor pathway inhibitor-1 (TFPI) is a serine protease inhibitor, which is responsible for inactivating TF-induced coagulation. Recently, increasing studies revealed that TFPI was lowly expressed in tumor cells and exhibited the antitumor activity. Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the role and underlying molecular mechanisms of TFPI in breast cancer. Methods: The expression and prognostic value of TFPI were analyzed using UALCAN and Kaplan-Meier plotter website. The expression level of TFPI in breast cancer tissues and cells was examined by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and western blot analysis, respectively. Cellular proliferation was evaluated by CCK-8 and colony formation assays. Cell migration and invasion were determined by transwell assay. The methylation level of TFPI promoter was determined by methylation-specific PCR. Results: TFPI expression was significantly lower in breast cancer tissues and cells compared to normal breast tissues and normal breast cells. Patients with low TFPI levels showed worse overall survival (OS). Furthermore, overexpression of TFPI significantly inhibited the proliferation, migration and invasion of breast cancer cells. Conversely, knockdown of TFPI promoted the proliferation, migration and invasion of breast cancer cells. Mechanistically, TFPI inhibited the ERK/p38 MAPK signaling pathway in breast cancer. Moreover, DNA hypermethylation of TFPI promoter was responsible for the downregulation of TFPI in breast cancer cells. Conclusion: TFPI inhibited breast cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion through inhibition of the ERK/p38 MAPK signaling pathway, suggesting that TFPI may serve as a novel prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for breast cancer.

        Compression-Friendly Low Power Test Application Based on Scan Slices Reusing

        This paper presents a compression-friendly low power test scheme in EDT environment. The proposed approach exploits scan slices reusing to reduce the switching activity during shifting for test scheme based on linear decompressor. To avoid the impact on encoding efficiency from resulting control data, a counter is utilized to generate control signals. Experimental results obtained for some larger ISCAS’89 and ITC’99 benchmark circuits illustrate that the proposed test application scheme can improve significantly the encoding efficiency of linear decompressor.
