Gold plating films are used extensively as electronics industry materials, because it is such as high corrosion resistance and conductivity. However, gold plating thin films are probably porous layer. Therefore, nickel plating films under gold plating films are corroded by local cell. In this paper, the inhibitor-effect is investigated by electrochemical technique and structural analysis of surface and interface.

Property of nickel hydroxide positive electrode containing a small amount of manganese was investigated by electrochemical and crystal structural analysis. The characteristic curves of charge-discharge process of nickel hydroxide electrode was improved by contain manganese. The other side, peak current density of oxidation reaction was decreased than the without manganese. It was considered that the carbonate ion and water molecule are inserted between interlayer of oxy nickel hydroxide.
