Fabrication of fine features of less than 0.2 ㎛ is vital for future ultra-large scale integration (ULSI) devices. An area of particular concern is whether and how optical lithography can delineate such feature sizes. Practical super resolution techniques for achieving fine features smaller than the exposure wavelength are presented. Various types of phase shift masks, pupil filtering techniques, and their imaging characteristics are discussed and compared to conventional techniques. These techniques offer the capability to improve resolution to overcome the wavelength limitation and to considerably increase depth of focus. The potential of electron beam direct writing and X-ray lithography for mass production is also discussed.

Understanding how outpatient physiotherapy impacts on specific motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease (PD) is important for multidisciplinary care, but these points have not been clarified. We investigated the impact of outpatient physiotherapy on individual motor symptoms in PD patients. Fifty-five PD patients participated in the prospective cohort study, which examined the changes in motor symptoms after 90 min of outpatient physiotherapy program (1×/week for 10 weeks) and at 3 months follow-up. Movement Disorder Society-Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS) motor score and tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia, and axial scores were assessed and compared pre-intervention, post-intervention, and at follow-up. Significant level was set at 0.05. Their MDS-UPDRS motor score and axial score significantly decreased post-intervention and at the follow-up. In the analysis differentiating effects based on the severity of motor symptoms according to the MDS-UPDRS motor score, only the moderate-severe group showed significant decreases in their MDS-UPDRS motor score, bradykinesia, and axial scores post-intervention, as well as in their MDS-UPDRS motor score, rigidity, bradykinesia, and axial scores at the follow-up. These findings suggest the outpatient physiotherapy might provide benefits, particularly in managing axial symptoms and bradykinesia, for community dwelling PD patients with moderate-severe motor symptoms within a multidisciplinary care framework.
Jespersen's Negative Cycle Revisited: A Sociolinguistic Study
Jun Terasawa 한국영어학학회 2004 영어학연구 Vol.- No.18
In Negation in English and Other Languages, Otto Jespersen describes the cyclic development of English negative constructions in terms of the following five stages. (I) Ie ne secge; (2) I ne seye not, (3) I say not; (4) I do not say, (5) I don't say As is often the case, an old linguistic farm may persist and Coexist with a new one until the former disappears Thus, most Middle English texts show the co-occurrence of constructions (1), (2), and (3) In Early Modern English, negative sentences without do were attested along with the newly emerging expressions with do The coexistence of the two constructions can be found in Shakespeare Was the choice between the different types of negative construction in earlier English in any way systematic? This paper will take a sociolinguistic approach to the problem and examine whether factors such as the socio-economic class of speakers, their gender and age as well as the genre and style of the text were relevant to the choice of negative construction in Middle English and in Early Modem English
