Numerical study has been performed to figure out the phenomena occurring while a passenger car is overtaking another one. Flow simulations are performed in a steady state at each location of overtaking vehicle. DrivAer model is used as an overtaking car, and a hexahedron with rounded corners is used as an overtaken car. The driving speed of the vehicle is 100㎞/h, and the ground condition is set on the same speed as driving speed.

Adoption of various air-bag is new trend in motor industry. Especially in frontal impact case, there are many excellent analysis tools and researches. But in other cases it is difficult to find out efficient method for analysis. This paper uses finite element analysis for side impact with side air-bag. Generally passenger's behavior analyses in impact are done by dynamic analysis tools(for example, Madymo) and BIW analyses are done by FE analysis tools Doing both of analyses by FE tools gives more flexible methods which are easily changed for any other kinds of airbag application. This paper tries integrated FE analysis for SINCAP mode that includes, US DOT SID model, passenger car model, and head & thorax air-bag model. It will be easily changed for any other air-bag analyses.<br/>

Currently, 3D non-contact type scanning equipments are widely and effectively used for the press die manufacturing process as well as for the automobile manufacturing technology. This paper presents lots of 3D scan applications that are applicable for the press die manufacturing process to aid shorten die tooling delivery and for the enhanced die making productivities. Three-dimensional scanning can be used to capture hand-worked die surfaces or panels for the car body and this captured three-dimensional data can be used tor a lot of application. Die duplication and repairing, root cause analysis during die making process, applying surface compensation, support spring back analysis, cutter path optimization are applicable key activities on die tooling procedures and to be presented in this paper.
