Simulation of Silicon Film Growth by Silane Decomposition at Low Pressures and Temperatures
Moon, Sang Heup,Lee, Ju Hyung,Rhee, Shi Woo 한국화학공학회 1992 NICE Vol.10 No.3
Silicon film deposition by silence decomposition in LPCVD(Low Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition) process has been simulated by numerical computation of the governing transport and reaction equations, assuming that the rate of silane decomposition in the gas phase controls the overall film growth rate. The film grouch rate and the film uniformity increase with the reattain flow rate when the flow rate is restively low, but they decrease at higher flow rates due to the negalive effect of the reduced reaction time in the reactor. Accordingly, the film deposition process is optimized 1y controlling the reactants flow rate so that the position of the maximum SiH₄-decomposition rate in the gas phase is located above the substrate region. With a larger degree of the substrate tilting, the growth rate decreases but the film uniformity is improved. The film uniformity is also improved when the pressure is low.

Merocyanine 540 mediated photosensitization was tested in vitro for its efficacy and selectivity to eliminate K562, HL-60 and chronic myelogenous leukemic cells. 1. Merocyanine 540 without light exposure was not remarkably cytotoxic, a concentration of 2 ㎍/ml or less merocyanine 540 was adequate. 2. To preseve enough normal hematopoietic cells, a concentrations of 20 ㎍/ml or less merocyanine 540 with light exposure was adequate. 3. The most optimal condition of photosensitization to eliminate clonogenic leukemic cells selectively was 20 ㎍/ml merocyanine 540 for 60 minutes of light expossure. 4. Renewal capacity of clonogenic leukemic cells was lost even though they survived after photopurging. 5. Normal marrow cells contaminate with K562 and HL-60 cells simulated to complete remission marrow with minima1 residual leukemmic were effectively purged. 6. The purging effect on leukemic cells of merocyanine 540 was added to that of 4- hydroperoxycyclophosphamide and heat. We conclude that merocyaine 540 with photosensitization seems to be useful for ex vivo purging of residual leukemic cells in autologous bone marrow grafts.
A New Battery Equalizer Based on Buck-boost Topology
Sang-Hyun Park,Tae-Sung Kim,Jin-Sik Park,Gun-Woo Moon,Myung-Joong Yoon 전력전자학회 2007 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.- No.-
A new technique based on buck-boost topology is proposed to equalize a series-connected battery stack in this paper. The proposed scheme transfers the energy from fully charged battery cell to the weakest charged battery using buck-boost operation. This operation maintains batteries at the same charge and voltage level. Unlike previous battery equalizing schemes, the new battery equalizer uses only one magnetic component, resulting low cost and small size. Experiment results are provided to verify the operation of the proposed battery equalizer.
Validity and reproducibility of a food frequency questionnaire for breast cancer survivors in Korea
Moon Sang-Eun,Shin Woo-kyoung,Song Sihan,Koh Dahye,Ahn Jeong Sun,Yoo Youngbum,Kang Minji,Lee Jung Eun 한국영양학회 2022 Nutrition Research and Practice Vol.16 No.6
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to examine the validity and reproducibility of a food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) developed in Korea for breast cancer survivors. SUBJECTS/METHODS Ninety-nine breast cancer survivors who completed an FFQ twice and three 3-day dietary records (DRs) between 2016–2017 were included. Energy and 14 nutrient intakes were calculated from FFQs and DRs. To determine the validity of the FFQ, energy-adjusted de-attenuated Pearson correlations between two FFQ assessments and the average of the three 3-day DRs were calculated, and to determine reproducibility, energy-adjusted Pearson correlations and degrees of agreement were calculated between the first and second FFQ assessments. RESULTS Correlation coefficients of validity ranged from 0.29 (protein) to 0.47 (fat) (median value = 0.36) for the FFQ assessment and from 0.20 (riboflavin) to 0.53 (calcium) (median value = 0.37) for the second. Correlation coefficients of reproducibility ranged from 0.22 (sodium) to 0.62 (carbohydrate) (median value = 0.36). Regarding FFQ reproducibilities, percentage classifications of exact agreements for energy-adjusted nutrients ranged from 27.3% (sodium) and 45.5% (fat). A median 76.8% of participants were classified into the same or adjacent quartiles, while a median of 5.6% of participants were classified in extreme quartiles. Bland–Atman plots for the majority of data points of three macronutrients, calcium and vitamins A and C fell within limits of agreement. CONCLUSIONS These results indicated that the newly developed FFQ for Korean breast cancer survivors has acceptable validity and reproducibility as compared with three 3-day DRs collected over a one-year period.

Xanthelasma is a subtype of plane xanthoma occurs on periorbital regions and causes substantial cosmetic and psychosocial burden for patients. Various methods including surgical excision, topical therapy and laser therapy have been used for the treatment of xanthelasma depending on the location and size of the lesion. All these methods have some advantages and disadvantages, gold-standard treatment has not been established. We present the case of a 46-year-old woman with a 1-year history of yellowish large plaques on both lower eyelids, clinically consistent with xanthelasma. Laser therapy was selected in order to prevent possible functional impairment such as ectropion or scar after surgical excision. Split-face trial was performed to allow comparison of therapeutic effect between 1444nm Nd:YAG laser for the right and fractional CO2 laser for the left lesion. 1444nm Nd:YAG laser treatment showed excellent lesion clearance and high patient’s satisfaction, although there was longer down-time and post-laser erythema as compared with fractional CO2 laser. After 6 months of 1444nm Nd:YAG laser therapy, more significant cosmetic improvement was achieved than fractional CO2 laser. To our knowledge, external application of 1444nm Nd:YAG laser for extensive xanthelasma has not been reported in Korean dermatologic literature, and it can be considered as one of effective therapeutic options for xanthelasma based on our experience.
The Effects of Passive Static Posterior Compression on the Spine of Growing Dogs
Moon, Myung-Sang,Woo, Young-Kyun,Ha, Kee-Yong,Lee, Young-Soo CATHOLIC MEDICAL CENTER 1988 Bulletin of the Clinical Research Institute Vol.16/17 No.1
Spinal instrumentation such as Harrington or Luque rod has been recommended frequently for surgical correction of the various deformities and maintenance of the correction. Authors tried to find out the effect of passive posterior static compression with hooked rods on growing spine of dogs. The results were as follows: 1. Radiologically the immobilized bony vertebrae grew less than the mobilized vertebrae above and below. 2. Narrowing of the intervertebral disc space in the immobilized segments occurred in all dogs. 3. The A-P diameter of the spinal canal in the immobilized segments increased up to 14% in comparsion with the mobilized vertebrae above and below. 4. Narrowing of the facet joint space and degenerative changes of the facet joint developed gradually after passive compressive immobilization. 5. From 16 weeks onward, microscopically the growth plate cartilage of compressed vertebrae developed degeneration. These areas were sharply demarcated from the remaining normal growth plate cartilage layer. 6. The direction of horizontally arranged fibers of annulus fibrosus began to distort and all the fibers of the annulus were vertically arranged completely at the end. 7. The vertebral end-plate cartilage gradually became thinner and lastly there were profoundly degenerative changes in the cartilage.
