An Empirical Investigation of the Factors Influencing the Brand Extension of Lifebuoy
Shoaib Imtiaz,Jafar Ali,Changsu Kim,Hyun-Sook Ahn 한국디지털융합학회 2016 IJICTDC Vol.1 No.2
This paper investigates the factors affecting the brand extension of lifebuoy i.e. Brand equity, Brand loyalty, Brand image, customer innovativeness, Similarity fit, Brand association and Consumer behaviour. Quantitative approach was utilized in this paper. Data was collected from 150 students enrolled in graduate and post-graduate level programmes in Department of Management Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, through convenience sampling approach with the help of structured verified questionnaire. A series of statistical techniques i.e. Cronbach’s alpha, Multicollinearity, Correlation and Regression analysis were applied with the help of software SPSS. The results depicts that extensions into same categories to the original brand tends to be readily accepted. Brand equity and Brand loyalty increases after successful brand extension and are highly positive correlated with brand extension. It also showed the relationship between the brand image and brand extension. Customer innovativeness and consumer behaviour speeds up after successful brand extension. Results showed that Similarity fit have positive effect on brand extension, and also brand extension increases with brand association. Important guiding principle for future research would be to include large pool of respondents for in-depth analysis to understand the effect of culture also. It is suggested that companies should launch extensions with high similarity fit. Moreover, greater effort is required to extend low equity brands. Finally, companies need to know what the perception of consumers about their brands is, and how they evaluate it. It is noted that feedback effects of the same brand extensions can vary due to cultural differences between consumers.
HYBRID FIXED POINT RESULTS VIA E.A AND TANGENTIAL PROPERTIES IN METRIC SPACES
Shoaib, Muhammad,Sarwar, Muhammad,Tunc, Cemil The Honam Mathematical Society 2018 호남수학학술지 Vol.40 No.4
In this manuscript, hybrid fixed point results for four maps using (E.A) and tangential properties in the setting of metric space are studied. Application to system of functional equations is also studied.

Background Traditional systems of medicine use herbal drugs for hepatoprotection. Thus, the study was designed to evaluate the hepatoprotective and antioxidant effects of Spondias pinnata bark extracts against ethanol-induced liver injury in Wistar rats. Methods Group I animals were treated with 1 mL/kg 0.3% carboxymethyl cellulose and Group II with 12 mL/kg 50% ethanol for 8 consecutive days. Groups III–VII animals were first treated with 400 mg/kg petroleum ether extract, chloroform extract, acetone extract (AE), ethanol extract (EE), and 100 mg/kg silymarin, and then 12 mL/kg 50% ethanol orally after 2 hours pretreatment each day for 8 consecutive days. Six hours after the last dose, blood was withdrawn. The hepatoprotective activity was assessed by several biochemical and antioxidant parameters. It was accomplished by the histopathology and DNA fragmentation study of liver tissues. Results Treatment with S. pinnata extracts, mainly AE and EE significantly (p < 0.05–0.01) and dose-dependently prevented the ethanol-induced increase in serum levels of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase, cholesterol, bilirubin, and malondialdehyde, and decrease in reduced glutathione, catalase, superoxide dismutase, and albumin. They also attenuated the ethanol-induced DNA damage. Hepatoprotective potential of the extract was less than that of standard drug silymarin. Results of the study were well supported by the histopathological observations. Conclusion S. pinnata extracts AE and EE possess a potent hepatoprotective effect against ethanol-induced liver injury in Wistar rats, and protect them from hepatotoxicity by prevention of ethanol-induced oxidative stress, DNA-damage and altered biochemical markers.
Enhanced Pseudo Labeling Based on Bidirectional Object Tracker for Training Object Detection CNNs
Shoaib Sajid,HyungWon Kim 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 2022 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 학술대회 Vol.2022 No.10
This paper presents an improved approach to generate pseudo labels for unlabeled dataset. To properly train a network, large amount of dataset is required. The publicly available datasets are often not large enough or versatile. Although we can acquire a great deal of images from the internet, those images are not labeled. Conventionally, the generation of ground truth labels requires human effort which is very expensive and time-consuming. Recently, existing object detectors are being employed to automate the generation of labels, called pseudo labels. Such pseudo labels have poor accuracy, since most of the object detectors employ simplistic confidence thresholding, which tends to discard even good labels. This paper proposes an enhanced pseudo labeling technique that selects the predicted labels using a bi-directional tracking method instead of simplistic confidence thresholding. The proposed technique can recover many predicted labels that are actual good labels but would have been discarded due to their poor confidence. Our method can produce pseudo labels for new training dataset with higher accuracy than conventional pseudo labeling techniques, thus offering better training accuracy for object detector CNN models.
Multi Unit Iris Biometric Encrypted Template Formation and Authentication
Shoaib Amin Banday,Saba Mushtaq,A.H. Mir 보안공학연구지원센터(IJSIP) 2014 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.7 No.6
Biometrics has been one the main security solutions in almost every type of infrastructure (whether critical or non-critical) ranging from the main doors at home, libraries to the critical infrastructures like banks and airports. Despite the forceful impetus on research on biometric security that has taken biometrics from one simple level to much higher levels of security, there are still some open challenges in this field of security that need to be filled. Among all those challenges and loopholes, the security of template is of the most important concern. The reason for this is that we don’t want any identity compromises. If a biometric template in the database of the system of a person is compromised that consequently would mean identity theft of that person. This paper proposes a novel method that uses two different biometric data from the same person for making a biometric template against each person. The two biometric modalities that have been used in our work are left and right iris using best features. The features and verification of the proposed system has been done using MATLAB.
Digital Transformation: Development of New Business Models in the Tourism Industry
Shoaib Imtiaz,김동진 (사)한국조리학회 2019 한국조리학회지 Vol.25 No.4
People and businesses are equally accepting the digital revolution. People, businesses, government, friends, and family are now actively engaged with each other with the use of social networks and digital devices. In the new digital age, customers are transformed to use mobile devices to turn into more specialized in product and service offerings and their comparative benefits as they choose what to buy, where to buy, and who is trustable. They are highly dependent on mobile apps to perform their daily activities and because of the increased demand in mobile apps, organizations need to reshape their customer value proposition and their operating models by undertaking the digital transformation to compete in the new marketplace. The tourism industry has been at the forefront of digital innovation and continues to be transformed at an exponential rate across the globe. This study presents the literature which gives insight into the basic understanding of digital transformation in the tourism industry and provides the consideration of the development of new business models by reshaping the customer value proposition and operating model.
