      • Selective Retina Therapy in Patients With Chronic Central Serous Chorioretinopathy : A Pilot Study

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We evaluated visual outcomes, changes of maximum macular thickness (MMT) and subretinal fluid (SRF), and safety in patients with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) after treatment with selective retina therapy (SRT). Retrospective cohort study of patients with chronic CSC presenting to a university-based hospital from January 2014 through January 2015 was conducted. A total of 12 eyes of 12 patients with chronic CSC lasting for at least 3 months was recruited. The follow-up period ranged from 3 to 12 months. Following evaluation of test spots at temporal arcades, SRT (Q-switched neodymium-doped yttrium lithium fluoride [Nd:YLF] laser; wavelength, 527 nm, pulse duration, 1.7 microsececond) was applied to the surrounding areas of leakage observed on fluorescein angiogram and/or pigment epithelial detachment (PED). Changes in best-correct visual acuity (BCVA), MMT, and SRF and macular sensitivity (MS) by microperimetry (MP) were evaluated. Eyes received treatment in a mean of 3.83 spots at the pulse energy of 65 to 90 μJ. Mean BCVA (logMAR) improved from 0.23 ± 0.12 at baseline to 0.14 ± 0.13 at 3 months. MMT decreased from 341.4 ± 85.5 μm at baseline to 236.0 ± 57.9 μm at 3 months. SRF completely resolved in 75% (9 eyes) at 3 months. Large PEDs (2 eyes) were flattened at 3 months. Retreatment was performed in 4 eyes. MP showed no evidence of scotoma around SRT-treated lesions. SRT treatment targeting the surrounding area of leakage point showed favorable visual and structural outcomes in chronic CSC patients without the risk of scotoma.</P>

        실리콘이 충전된 눈에서 부분결합간섭계를 이용한 인공수정체 도수계산

        목적: 실리콘이 충전된 눈에서 부분결합간섭계를 이용한 인공수정체 도수결정의 정확성을 알아보고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 실험군은 실리콘이 충전된 눈에서 부분결합간섭계를 이용하여 인공수정체 도수를 정하고 실리콘기름 제거술과 인공수정체 삽입술을 동시에 시행한 10안을 대상으로 하였다. 대조군은 실리콘 기름을 제거한 후 초음파를 이용한 A-scan (Tomey, Nagoya, Japan)으로 인공수정체의 도수를 계산하고 단계적으로 인공 수정체를 삽입한 12안을 대상으로 하였다. 술 후 3개월째 실제 굴절값을 측정하였고, 목표 굴절값과 차이인 굴절예측이상값을 구하여 두 군의 굴절예측이상값의 평균을 비교하였다. 결과: 실험군의 술 후 3개월째 실제 굴절값의 평균은 -1.30±1.57디옵터였고 굴절예측이상값의 평균은 -0.08±1.04디옵터였다. 대조군의 술 후 3개월째 실제 굴절값이 평균은 -1.63±1.75디옵터였고, 굴절예측이상값의 평균은 -0.48±1.27디옵터였다. 두 군의 굴절예측이상값 사이의 평균은 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다(p=0.674). 결론: 부분결합간섭계는 실리콘이 충전된 눈에서 인공수정체 도수를 결정할 경우 유용하게 사용될 수 있다. Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation in eyes that have been operated on by silicone oil removal combined with IOL implantation using partial coherence interferometry. Methods: 10 eyes of 10 patients with silicone oil tamponade were included in this study. The IOL power calculation for 10 eyes was performed using partial coherence interferometry. 12 eyes of 12 patients with silicone oil tamponade were also included in this study as control group. 12 eyes in control group had IOL implantation after silicone oil removal. The IOL power calculation for control group was performed using conventional ultrasound A-scan (Tomey, Nagoya, Japan). Three months after silicone oil removal combined with IOL implantation, actual refraction was measured. To compare the difference between the actual and target refraction, refractive prediction error was calculated. It is defined as substraction of target refraction from actual refraction. Results: At three months, actual refraction and refractive prediction error of the group using partial coherence interferometry were -1.30±1.57 diopter and -0.08±1.04 diopter, respectively. At three months, actual refraction and refractive prediction error of the control group using ultrasound A-scan were -1.63±1.75 diopter and -0.48±1.27 diopter, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference between two values (p=0.674). Conclusions: Partial coherence interferometry seems to be satisfactory accurate method to calculate IOL power in silicone oil-filled eye.

        전이행렬을 이용한 고객수익성 분석

        최근 활발히 행하여지고 있는 금융 CRM(customer relationship management)의 주요 목적은 고객의 이해도 증진을 통하여 은행의 수익성을 높이는데 있으며 또한 그 과정에서 높은 수익과 낮은 수익을 주는 고객을 여러 가지 유형으로 나누어 관리에 효율성을 도모한다. 일반적으로 고객 세분화의 중요변수로 고객수익성을 고려하고 이러한 고객 세분화 결과에 의하여 마케팅 시사점을 도출하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 고객 세분화 그룹에 따른 수익성 변동과정을 모형화하여 보다 효율적인 고객관계 관리를 가능하게 하는데 있다. 수익성 변동의 모형화 과정은 수익금액에 따라 고객을 몇 개의 범주로 분류하여 여러 기간에 걸쳐 나타내는 고객별 범주의 변화 추이를 전이행렬(transition matrix)로 나타내고, 마코프 모형을 이용한 전이 확률의 추정을 통하여 다음 시점에서의 각 범주별 고객의 수를 예측 가능함을 보인다. From an analytical standpoint, CRM provides a host of resources that enable banks to fully understand customer segments, assess and maximize lifetime value of each customer, model what-if scenarios, predict customer behaviors, and design and track effective marketing campains. In this paper, we estimate the tramsition probability of customers by one-step markov model in a real bank data. And we forecast the flow of the customers from one time period to the next by transition probability. This enables the effective customer relationship management.

      • Age-Associated Changes in MicroRNA Expression in Bone Marrow Derived Dendritic Cells

        <P>MiRNAs have shown to regulate aging process at the level of cellular senescence, tissue aging, and lifespan of whole organism. Given that many miRNAs also function as important regulators of hematopoietic system as well as aging process, it is highly likely that miRNAs would be involved in the changes of myeloid function and differentiation during aging. Therefore, here we examine differential expression of miRNAs in aged myeloid lineage cells and assess if altered miRNA expression pattern would reflect the change of miRNA targets and related function. We demonstrated that the expressions of myelogenic miRNAs such as miR-155, miR-223, miR-146a, miR-146b, miR-132, miR-142-5p, and miR-142-3p were increased in aged bone marrow derived dendritic cells (BMDC) under normal and activated conditions. We also observed that the expressions of IRAK1 and TRAF6, the targets of miR-146a, and DC-SIGN, a target of miR-155 were diminished while miR-146a and miR-155 were augmented during aging. In addition, we found that the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which is mediated by the activation of NF-kB pathway via IRAK1 and TRAF6, was greatly reduced in aged BMDC. Taken together, our data reveal that age-associated changes occur in miRNA expression in BMDC, and this altered miRNA expression affects miRNA target expression and compromises BMDC function such as cytokine production during aging.</P>

        당뇨망막병증의 치료에서 후테논낭하 트리암시놀론 주입술과 범망막광응고술 병합치료의 효과

        `Purpose: To investigate the result of posterior sub-tenon triamcinolone acetonide injection combined with panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) in patients with diabetic retinopathy. Methods: A prospective study was performed on patients with diabetic retinopathy who required PRP. The study group consisted of 12 patients (12 eyes) of diabetic retinopathy without clinically significant macular edema (CSME) and 13 patients (13 eyes) with CSME. All patients were injected posteriorly with sub-tenon triamcinolone acetonide (40 mg) one week before PRP. During a six-month follow-up, best-corrected visual acuity, the development of macular edema, changes in fluorescein angiography, and related complications were monitored. Results: During a six-month follow-up, visual acuity was well preserved in patients with diabetic retinopathy without CSME (12 eyes). Only one patient in this group experienced temporary macular edema at 3 months after combined therapy. In the CSME group (13 eyes), the visual acuities of seven patients (53.8%) increased, those of five patients (38.5%) remained same, and one patient's visual acuity (7.7%) decreased in a study period of six months. Fluorescein angiography showed that macular edema was resolved in most patients except in one patient in whom macular edema remained for up to 6 months. Complications from combined therapy occurred in two patients who showed slight and temporary increase of intraocular pressure. Conclusions: Combined treatment with posterior sub-tenon triamcinolone acetonide injection and PRP may provide benefits for patients with diabetic retinopathy who require urgent PRP by preventing exacerbation of macular edema.`

      • First Demonstration of a Logic-Process Compatible Junctionless Ferroelectric FinFET Synapse for Neuromorphic Applications

        <P>A highly scalable synapse device based on a junctionless (JL) ferroelectric (FE) FinFET is presented for neuromorphic applications. The synaptic behaviors of the JL metal-ferroelectric-insulator-silicon FinFET were experimentally demonstrated after verifying the ferroelectric characteristics of the HfZrO<SUB><I>X</I></SUB> (HZO) film using a metal-ferroelectric-metal capacitor. The fabricated synapse showed distinguishable polarization switching behaviors with gradually controllable channel conductance. From neural network simulations using the proposed JL FE FinFET as synapses, the pattern recognition accuracy for hand-written digits was validated to be approximately 80% for neuromorphic applications.</P>

      • 자동차용 고무호스의 노화메커니즘과 신뢰성평가

        Coolant rubber hoses for automobile radiators co be degraded and thus failed due to the influence of contacting stresses of air and coolant liquid under the thermal and mechanical loadings. In this study, test analysis was carried out for evaluating the degradation and failure mechanisms of coolant hose materials. An increase of surface hardness and a large reduction of failure strain were shown due to the formation of oxidation layer for the specimens which had been kept in a high temperature air chamber. Coolant ageing effects hardly took place, which corresponded to only the pure thermal degradation. The degraded specimens by electro-chemical degradation (ECD) test showed a swelling behavior and a considerable increase in weight oil account of the penetration of coolant liquid into the skin and interior of rubber. The ECD induced material softening and fatal decreases in strength and failure strain. A procedure fur reliability analysis and evaluation of the degradation and failure mechanisms of FPDM rubbers used in coolant hoses for automobile radiators was proposed.

        새로운 ICT 기반 서비스에 대한 연구

        A novel concept of ICT based service, which is called N-device service, is proposed and implemented in the form of N-device smart education services. The N-device services are different from the existing N-screen services in terms of the number of devices a user is using for a specific service at the same time. A N-device service consists of several smart devices which are different in size, software and hardware platform, mobility, manufacturer and the like by fully utilizing the characteristic of each device. The major and unique features of N-device services are analyzed and depicted in a strict way. Those are shared role for each device, service by configurable device, one sensor multiple use, real-time data sharing, role shifting and new market creation. It is turned out that the N-device service is more human centric compared with existing ICT based services and can give richer digital experience to users because non-existent services become possible with the new concept. However, there exist several barriers to be implemented and commercialized in the real world. Those include high development cost and time, small market and different application platforms of devices. These barriers can be overcome by technical advances and cooperation between relevant parties. The smart education is very prominent area, in which the novel concept can be applied with high priority because Korean government announced its plan to boost up new educational services with big budget and these are acceptable by enthusiastic Korean parents and students. That’s why the N-device service is implemented in the education area, which is called as “livessam(live teacher),” with four smart devices, IPTV, tablet PC, PC and smart phone. By providing both detailed service scenario and techniques, we shows that the novel education service is technically feasible and acceptable by teachers and students
