      • Robust Detection of the Coordinate of a Solar Panel Using Deep Learning Algorithm

Kumar Saurav,Seul Jung 제어로봇시스템학회 2019 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2019 No.10

The objective of this paper is to develop a robust and intelligent algorithm for the detection of the coordinates of the solar panel or its array in the field. This goal is achieved by using a TensorFlow-based real-time custom object detector developed for a solar panel. Collecting the database consisting of labelled pictures of solar panels in different environments and lightings is done for training and testing the ML-based deep learning models. After several experimentations and testing, the coordinates of the solar panel is successfully detected.

Heating and phyiso-mechanical characteristics of porous spinel developed by Starch

Kumar Saurav,Manas Ranjan Majhi,Vinay Kumar Singh 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2016 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.17 No.10

Among the techniques used to produce these materials (such as the addition of foaming agents and organic compounds), thepore generation via phase transformation presents key aspects, such as easy processing and the absence of toxic volatiles. Inthis study, this technique was applied to produce porous ceramics by decomposing an EX potato known as starch soluble(C6H10O5)n. Porous MgO ceramics prepared at different sintering temperatures is studied. Porous MgO was synthesis byheating pellets at 1100 oC for 1hr. The resultant porous MgO was then immersed in an 10 mol/L aluminium nitrate solution, dried, and reheated at 1300 oC for 2 hrs to convert it to spinel. The method results from generalized relations that weredesigned for study of physical properties of fractal structures. As it is shown these relations are in a good agreement with theequations used for the description of time responses of temperature for the pulse input of supplied heat. The volume fractionof porosity can be defined as the fraction of void space relative to the apparent total bulk volume of the sample. Porosity inmaterials originates from different processing and synthesis routes.

Magnet retained intraoral-extra oral combination prosthesis: a case report

        Saurav Banerjee,Surender Kumar,Amit Bera,Tapas Gupta,Ardhendu Banerjee 대한치과보철학회 2012 The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics Vol.4 No.4

Facial prosthesis is generally considered over surgical reconstruction to restore function and appearance in patients with facial defects that resulted from cancer resection. Retention of the prosthesis is challenging due to its size and weight. Retention can be achieved by using medical grade adhesives, resilient attachments, clips and osseointegrated implants. It can also be connected to obturator by magnets. This clinical report highlights the rehabilitation of a lateral midfacial defect with a two piece prosthesis that included an extra oral facial prosthesis and an intraoral obturator with the use of magnets.

Approximate solution of non-linear dynamic energy model for multiple effect evaporator using fourier series and metaheuristics

        Drishti Yadav,Saurav Kumar,Om Prakash Verma,Nikhil Pachauri,Varun Sharma 한국화학공학회 2021 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.38 No.5

This article presents the approximate solution of non-linear dynamic energy model of multiple effect evaporator (MEE) using Fourier series and metaheuristics. The dynamic model of MEE involves first-order simultaneous ordinary differential equations (SODEs). Prior to solving the dynamic model, the non-linear steady-state model is solved to obtain the optimum steady-state process parameters. These process parameters serve as the initial conditions (constraints) for the SODEs. The SODEs are exemplified as an optimization problem by the weighted residual function to produce their approximate solutions. The optimization task is to find the best estimates of unknown coefficients in the Fourier series expansion using two preeminent metaheuristic approaches: Particle swarm optimization and harmony search. Besides, the influence of the number of approximation terms in Fourier series expansion on the accuracy of the approximate solutions has been investigated. The solution of the dynamic model assists in the investigation of open-loop dynamics of the MEE. Moreover, the acquired results may assist in designing suitable controllers to ensure energy-efficient performance of MEE and to monitor the product quality. The optimization results reveal that both the metaheuristic approaches offer minimum violation of the constraints and, therefore, validate their efficiency in solving such complex non-linear energy models.

Bone microarchitecture and bone mineral density in Graves’ disease

        Hiya Boro,Rakhi Malhotra,Suraj Kubihal,Saurav Khatiwada,Vinay Dogra,Velmurugan Mannar,Ashok Kumar Ahirwar,Vandana Rastogi 대한골다공증학회 2023 Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia Vol.9 No.2

Objectives: Graves' disease (GD) is the most common cause of thyrotoxicosis. There are many studies that have evaluated bone mineral density (BMD) in Graves’ disease. However, the strength of a bone also depends on its microarchitecture which can be assessed by various techniques. Trabecular bone score (TBS) is a new method for assessing bone microarchitecture that is non-invasive and easily performed. Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional study that involved 50 patients with active GD and 50 healthy controls. Both groups were subjected to an assessment of biochemical parameters followed by measurement of BMD and TBS on the same dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) machine. Results: The mean age of patients with active GD (N ¼ 50) was 31.9 ± 10.9 years while that of controls was 31.2 ± 4.9 years (P ¼ 0.640). The female: male ratio was the same for both groups (F ¼ 31, M ¼ 19). The mean lumbar spine BMD, femoral neck BMD, total hip BMD, and distal radius BMD were significantly reduced in GD when compared to that in controls. The mean absolute lumbar spine TBS in GD was 1.263 ± 0.101 while that in controls was 1.368 ± 0.073 (P < 0.001). On multivariate regression analysis, the factors that predicted TBS were serum thyroxine (T4) and L1-L4 BMD. Conclusions: Patients with Graves’ disease had reduced bone density at all sites and degraded microarchitecture. Long-term studies are required to understand the pattern of recovery of bone microarchitecture after the restoration of euthyroidism.

Intestinal membrane transporter-mediated approaches to improve oral drug delivery

        PANGENI RUDRA,Kang Soim,JHA SAURAV KUMAR,SUBEDI LAXMAN,박진우 한국약제학회 2021 Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation Vol.51 No.2

Background Effective oral delivery of drugs remains a major challenge given their possible undesirable physicochemical properties, physicochemical factors, and the physiological conditions of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Continuous efforts have been made to overcome these issues by improving the intestinal permeability and oral bioavailability of drugs. Recently, the strategy to improve intestinal permeability has shifted towards targeting drugs to intestinal membrane transporters. Area covered In this review, the usefulness of various solute carrier (SLC) and ATP (adenosine triphosphate)-binding cassette (ABC) transporters that are widely expressed in the intestinal epithelia and their impact on increasing the membrane permeability and oral bioavailability of drugs are discussed. Expert opinion Targeting intestinal membrane transporters has emerged as a promising avenue to increase the oral absorption of drugs. Recently, several approaches that target intestinal membrane transporters have resulted in significant improvements in oral bioavailability, such as the use of absorption enhancers or excipients, modification of a drug’s physicochemical properties, and/or the development of novel drug delivery vehicles that enhance drug influx and inhibit efflux. Additionally, efforts have been made to elucidate the role of dual-transporter targeting in drug delivery. Therefore, implementation of transporter-mediated drug-delivery strategies may be a promising approach to increase oral bioavailability.

Seroprevalence of antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 and predictors of seropositivity among employees of a teaching hospital in New Delhi, India

        Pragya Sharma,Rohit Chawla,Ritika Bakshi,Sonal Saxena,Saurav Basu,Pradeep Kumar Bharti,Meera Dhuria,S. K. Singh,Panna Lal 질병관리본부 2021 Osong Public Health and Research Persptectives Vol.12 No.2

Objectives: Healthcare workers (HCWs) are at a high risk of contracting severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) due to the increased likelihood of clinical exposure during patient management. The study objective was to determine the seroprevalence of antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 and its predictors among hospital employees. Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted at a teaching hospital from August 2020 to September 2020 among 1,401 employees, including 1,217 HCWs, in New Delhi, India. The serum samples were examined for immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 using the COVID Kavach-Anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG Antibody Detection enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit. Data were collected electronically using the EpiCollect mobile platform. A p<0.05 was considered to indicate statistical significance. Results: A total of 169 participants (12.1%) had detectable IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. The highest seropositivity rate was observed in the administrative staff (20.1%), while it was lowest among medical doctors (5.5%, p<0.001). Male sex and ever having lived in a containment zone were independently associated with past infection with SARS-CoV-2. Conclusion: The seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in health workers may be lower than in the general population in New Delhi. However, nonpharmaceutical interventions were not associated with a reduction in the risk of acquisition of SARS-CoV-2.
