Parametric Resonance Characteristics of Laminated Composite Curved Shell Panels in a Hygrothermal Environment

Sahu, S.K.,Rath, M.K.,Datta, P.K.,Sahoo, R. The Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Scie 2012 International Journal of Aeronautical and Space Sc Vol.13 No.3

The present study deals with the parametric resonance behaviour of laminated composite curved shell panels in a hygrothermal environment using Bolotin's approach. A simple laminated model is developed using first order shear deformation theory (FSDT) for the vibration and dynamic stability analysis of laminated composite shells subjected to hygrothermal conditions. A computer program based on the finite element method (FEM) in a MATLAB environment is developed to perform all necessary computations. Quantitative results are presented to show the effects of curvature, ply-orientations, degree of orthotropy and geometry of laminates on the parametric instability of composite curved shell panels for different temperature and moisture concentrations. The excitation frequencies of laminated composite panels decrease with the increase of temperature and moisture due to reduction of stiffness for all laminates.

Dielectric and Frequency Dependent Transport Properties of Gadolinium Doped Bismuth Ferrite

        A. K. Sahu,S. K. Satpathy,S.K. Rout,Banarji Behera 한국전기전자재료학회 2020 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.21 No.2

Ceramics of (Bi 1−x Gd x FeO 3 ) [x = 0.5, 0.6 and 0.7] were synthesized through mixed oxide method. Structural studies of the ceramics were done using X-ray diff raction technique. At high frequency, nearly flat response in the dielectric constant and dielectric loss with temperature up to 200 °C were observed. Dielectric constant found to increase with decrease in Gadolinium concentration. Frequency dependent electrical data analysis at diff erent temperatures suggested a temperature dependent non-Debye type relaxation process in the ceramics. Frequency dependence AC conductivity at different temperatures obeyed Jonscher’s universal power law. The temperature dependence of DC and AC conductivity was fitted with Arrhenius equation. The activation energies at different temperature ranges were calculated to understand the conduction process.

Investigation of hydrogen adsorption behavior of graphene under varied conditions using a novel energy-centered method

        Luhadiya Nitin,Kundalwal S. I.,Sahu S. K. 한국탄소학회 2021 Carbon Letters Vol.31 No.4

The adsorption of molecular hydrogen on the monolayer graphene sheet under varied temperature and pressure was studied using molecular dynamics simulations (MDS). A novel method for obtaining potential energy distributions (PEDs) of systems was developed to estimate the gravimetric density or weight percentage of hydrogen. The Tersof and Lennard–Jones (LJ) potentials were used to describe interatomic interactions of carbon–carbon atoms in the graphene sheet and the interactions between graphene and hydrogen molecules, respectively. The results estimated by the use of novel method in conjunction with MDS developed herein were found to be in excellent agreement with the existing experimental results. The efect of pressure and temperature was studied on the adsorption energy and gravimetric density for hydrogen storage. In particular, we focused on hydrogen adsorption on graphene layer considering the respective low temperature and pressure in the range of 77–300 K and 1–10 MPa for gas storage purpose which indicate the combination of optimal extreme conditions. Adsorption isotherms were plotted at 77 K, 100 K, 200 K, and 300 K temperatures and up to 10 MPa pressure. The simulation results indicate that the reduction in temperature and increase in pressure favor the gravimetric density and adsorption energies. At 77 K and 10 MPa, the maximum gravimetric density of 6.71% was observed. Adsorption isotherms were also analyzed using Langmuir, Freundlich, Sips, Toth, and Fritz–Schlunder equations. Error analysis was performed for the determination of isotherm parameters using the sum of the squares of errors (SSE), the hybrid fractional error function (HYBRID), the average relative error (ARE), the Marquardt’s percent standard deviation (MPSD), and the sum of the absolute errors (SAE).

      • Survey Paper: Location Management in CDMA Network

        N. P. Nath,S. R. Parija,P. K. Sahu,S. S. Singh 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.8 No.1

With the rapid increase in international roaming and highly growing number of cellular subscribers it is important to locate the subscriber both efficiently and accurately not only to reduce the cost but also to decrease the load on MSC and decrease the paging delay. The procedure used by the service provider for both collecting and analyzing the information regarding the subscribers’ location is called location management. Location management comprises of location update and paging schemes. This paper tried to highlight the different location management techniques and paging schemes that are used in CDMA network. This paper also compares their features, merits and demerits. Finally the paper discusses various techniques that are used in order to optimize the location update schemes by categorizing them into two broad groups’ i.e. static location update and dynamic location update. Each group enlists different techniques that are used to decide the update frequency of MS (Mobile System). This study has tried to summarize their underlying concepts and various pros and cons.

Arp 202: a TDG formed in a parent's extended dark matter halo?

        Scott, T C,Lagos, P,Ramya, S,Sengupta, C,Paudel, S,Sahu, D K,Misra, K,Woo, J -H,Sohn, B W Oxford University Press 2018 MONTHLY NOTICES- ROYAL ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY Vol.475 No.1

We report on H alpha+ [N II] imaging of the Arp 202 interacting pair and its tidal dwarf galaxy (TDG) candidate as well as a GMOS long slit spectrum from the TDG candidate, observed with the Gemini North telescope. Our H alpha + [N II] imaging reveals the TDG to have an elongated structure, similar to 1.9 kpc in length with the two principal star-forming knots at either end. Our observations also show the TDG candidate has a recessional V-H alpha similar to 3032km s(-1), within 100 km s(-1) of the parent pair's mean velocity and an oxygen abundance of 12+log(O/H) = 8.10 +/- 0.41. The TDG's oxygen abundance is in good agreement with that of a star-forming region in NGC 2719A, one of the parent galaxies, which has an estimated oxygen abundance of 12+log(O/H) = 8.05 +/- 0.41. The TDG's V-H alpha and oxygen abundance confirm previous results validating the candidate as a TDG. The absence of detectable emission from the TDG in Spitzer 3.6 and 4.5 vim images together with the lack of absorption lines and weak continuum in the spectrum is consistent with absence the of an old population (greater than or similar to 0.5 Gyr). The location of the TDG within the interaction debris and the absence of indicators of an old stellar population in the TDG is consistent with a scenario in which the TDG is formed from H I stripped from the parent galaxies and within the extended dark matter halo of one of the parents as proposed by Bournaud et al. and Duc et al.

Deuterated formaldehyde in the low-mass protostar HH212

        Sahu, Dipen,Minh, Y C,Lee, Chin-Fei,Liu, Sheng-Yuan,Das, Ankan,Chakrabarti, S K,Sivaraman, Bhala Oxford University Press 2018 MONTHLY NOTICES- ROYAL ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY Vol.475 No.4

HH212, a nearby (400 pc) object in Orion, is a class 0 protostellar system with a Keplerian disc and collimated bipolar SiO jets. Deuterated water, HDO, and a deuterated complex molecule, methanol (CH2DOH), have been reported in the source. Here, we report the HDCO (deuterated formaldehyde) line observation from Atacama Large Millimeter Array data to probe the inner region of HH212. We compare HDCO line with other molecular lines to understand the possible chemistry and physics of the source. The distribution of HDCO emission suggests that it may be associated with the base of the outflow. The emission also shows a rotation but it is not associated with the Keplerian rotation of disc or the rotating infalling envelope, rather it is associated with the outflow as previously seen in (CS)-S-34. From the possible deuterium fractionation, we speculate that the gas phase formation of deuterated formaldehyde is active in the central hot region of the low-mass protostar system, HH212.
