본고는 전칭(universal) 양화사 ‘any’와 존재(existential) 양화사 ‘any’가 실제로는 하나의 기본 의미를 가지고 있으며 그들이 적용되는 정신 공간 배열로 인해 표면상 다른 현상이 나타난다는 것을 보여준다. 또한 극어로서의 ‘any’는 강조의 기능을 가지며 최소량을 나타낸다. 인지 의미론의 기본 개념 가운데 정신 공간(mental space), 역동성(dynamicity), 상상력(fictivity)은 ‘any’를 기술하기 위한 핵심 개념이다. 이 개념은 내포(implication), 부정(negation), 양화(quantification)와 같은 현상을 설명하는 데도 매우 중요하다.

At the beginning of this millennium robotic surgery was launched and quickly became accepted in many surgical specialties. Initially only resection procedures were performed with a few surgical steps made towards reconstructive elements. Robotic surgery helped to overcome disadvantages seen and experienced when performing laparoscopic procedures, mainly lack of haptic feedback, lack of ‘free movement’ in the abdominal cavity and inferior visualization. Since its initiation, robotic surgery was utilized more and more in complex procedures. Its use in complex liver and pancreatic surgery is still controversial as it requires a high volume center and superb training to achieve acceptable results. Robotic surgery for hepato-pancre-ato-biliary disease is only performed by a few centers in the United States. A team approach is mandatory and the bed side assistant is as important as the console surgeon in achieving acceptable oncological outcome. This article aims to review the most recent literature and gives some personal views into the near future with anticipated development of this exciting technology.
A Survey of Recent Evidence on Boards of Directors and CEO Incentives

This article surveys the recent literature on boards of directors and the interplay between director incentives and CEO incentives. The primary focus is on how the incentives and other characteristics of directors, boards, and CEOs interact to affect firm performance. The article reviews the recent evidence documenting a causal relationship between board independence and measures of firm performance. It also discusses the major limitations of the current measure of director independence. Finally, the article highlights how board independence provides strong incentives for CEOs to create firm value and examines the recent evidence on what other director characteristics improve board effectiveness.
