This study is an intensive study on Tae Rin Lee’s research results. A linear system for Estimating the Strength of Super Personal Conflict (ESSPC) in animations is proposed. Tae Rin Lee has extracted the Super Personal Conflict (SPC) shots of animations, and obtained the strength through the experts’ psychological test experiment. The purpose of this study is to find a model that automatically computes the superpersonal conflict intensity value (ESSPC). By utilizing these results, 1) 20 image feature vectors are suggested for analyzing the SPC, and 2) a linear system is found for auto-calculating ESSPC by using the pseudo inverse matrix. The proposed system shows 9.25% root mean square error and the effectiveness is proven.

The purpose of this study is to set up the concept and classification standard of unethical linguistic expressions(ULEs) as word unit that can appear in the machine learning of interactive artificial intelligence systems and humans conversation. The study also examined the characteristics of each type, based on examples. According to the results of the study, ULEs as word unit can be divided into three categories: ‘swear words’, ‘vulgar words’, and ‘derogatory slangs’. These three types are common in that they are all regarded as ULEs in any variance of emergence. However, they differ in two attributes, aggression and degradation. This study also suggests that there are two other types of ULEs: the ‘Context’ type, in which certain expressions may or may not be used unethically according to the context, and the ‘Content’ type, which can not be considered unethical linguistic expression in of itself, but its related content can be unethical linguistic expression overall. Therefore, this study identifies that the word-based unethical linguistic expression is classified into five types such as ‘swear words’, ‘vulgar words’, ‘derogatory slang’, ‘context’, and ‘content’, and each of these characteristics and examples were reviewed extensively.

Lee, Jae-Rin Mun, Yoon-Hee Jung, Su-Jin Lee, Mi-ra 대한임상예방치과학회 2010 International Journal of Clinical Preventive Denti Vol.6 No.1
Objective: The purpose of this study was to discover the effect of fluoride for desensitization treatment. Materials and Methods: We sectioned extracted 15 healthy human 1st and 2nd molar teeth into 6 pieces to make 90 specimens in total. The specimens are divided into 6 groups (15 specimens for each group). Group 1 is the control group with no treatment at all, Group 2 is treated with topical application of NaF solution, Group 3 with NaF iontophoresis, Group 4 with APF gel, Group 5 with neutral gel and Group 6 with fluoride varnish. After topical application, the surface of each group was observed with SEM and the obstruction level of the dentinal tubules was calculated. Results: The obstruction level of Group 1 with no treatment is 1.89±0.93, which is statistically valid enough to indicate that its obstruction level is lower than other groups which were treated with topical application of flour (p<0.05). The obstruction level of Group 2 with topical application of NaF solution is 2.85±0.84 while that of Group 3 with NaF iontophoresis is 3.69±0.23, which is statistically valid enough to indicate that the obstruction level of iontophoresis is higher than that of topical application (p<0.05). The obstruction level of Group 4 with APF gel application is 3.79±0.42 while that of Group 5 with neutral gel application is 3.28±0.32, which is statistically valid enough to indicate that the obstruction level of acid gel is higher than that of neutral gel application (p<0.05). The obstruction level of Group 6 with fluoride varnish is 3.92±0.27, which is statistically valid enough to indicate that the obstruction level of Group 6 is higher than NaF solid application, iontophoresis and neutral gel application (p<0.05). Conclusion: It is concluded that in desensitization treatment, fluoride varnish application, iontophoresis and APF gel topical application can be clinically useful among by various fluoride applications when it is evaluated in obstruction level.
A Hybrid Correction Technique of Missing Load Data Based on Time Series Analysis
Lee, Chan-Joo,Park, Jong-Bae,Lee, Jae-Yong,Shin, Joong-Rin,Lee, Chang-Ho The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2004 KIEE International Transactions on Power Engineeri Vol.a4 No.4
Traditionally, electrical power systems had formed the vertically integrated industry structures based on the economics of scale. However, power systems have been recently reformed to increase their energy efficiency. According to these trends, the Korean power industry underwent partial reorganization and competition in the generation market was initiated in 2001. In competitive electric markets, accurate load data is one of the most important issues to maintaining flexibility in the electric markets as well as reliability in the power systems. In practice, the measuring load data can be uncertain because of mechanical trouble, communication jamming, and other issues. To obtain reliable load data, an efficient evaluation technique to adjust the missing load data is required. This paper analyzes the load pattern of historical real data and then the tuned ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average), PCHIP (Piecewise Cubic Interpolation) and Branch & Bound method are applied to seek the missing parameters. The proposed method is tested under a variety of conditions and also tested against historical measured data from the Korea Energy Management Corporation (KEMCO).
Resonant behavior and microfluidic manipulation of silicone cilia due to an added mass effect
Lee, Tae-Rin,Oh, Kieseok,Chung, Jae-Hyun,Chang, Yoon-Suk,Choi, Jae-Boong,Yagawa, Genki,Kim, Young-Jin Royal Society of Chemistry 2011 Soft matter Vol.7 No.9

In a microfluidic device, cilia are good candidates to generate complex flow in solution by stirring the microscale fluid. To realize the potential as a novel microfluidic system, it is essential to understand the resonant behavior of cilia in solution and optimize the performance of a cilia-based device. In this paper, the resonant behavior of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) cilia in water is investigated by a novel computational method in order to understand the underlying physics and to suggest the optimal design of a cilia-based device. The resonant frequency of a single cilium in water is quantitatively compared to both analytical solutions and experimental results considering an added mass effect. Also, to propose the optimal design of cilia-based device as a microfluidic mixer, the fluid velocity and the pressure in multiple cilia are analysed according to the spacing between neighboring cilia. When the spacing increases from 100 µm to 600 µm, the flow pattern generated by the tips of cilia is changed from a large vortex to multiple small vortexes, which can be utilized for transport, separation and reaction of biomolecules. The particle dispersion with the mixing efficiency in multiple cilia is analysed to predict the performance as a microfluidic device.

Graphic Abstract

Depending on the spacing between resonating cilia, voltex flows can be either merged or separated.

Ka-mi-kae-kyuk-tang (KMKKT) is an Oriental herbal medicinal cocktail. Our collaborative team has shown that it has potent anti-angiogenic, anti-cancer and anti-metastatic activities in vivo without observable side effects. We have documented evidence for KMKKT to alleviate drug-induced hematotoxicity in vivo. In the present study, we investigated the mechanistic and signaling events through which KMKKT enhances hematopoiesis, using hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) isolated from the bone marrow of 8-12 week-old C57BL/6 mice. Our results show that KMKKT significantly increased the expression of the hematopoietic cytokines interleukin (IL)-3, stem cell factor (SCF), granulocyte-macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF), thrombopoietin (TPO) and erythropoietin (EPO) at the level of mRNA and secretion in HSCs. KMKKT also increased the expression of c-Kit, a cytokine receptor expressed in HSCs. In addition, KMKKT enhanced phosphorylation of Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) and signal transducer and activator of transcription 5 (STAT5), and increased the binding activity of STAT5 to gamma interferon activated sites (GAS) that mediate JAK2 downstream signaling. Furthermore, we found that KMKKT significantly enhanced the growth rate of colony-forming unit granulocyte erythrocyte monocyte macrophages (CFU-GEMM) and burst forming unit erythroid (BFU-E) of mouse HSCs (mHSCs) stimulated by IL-3/EPO. Overall, our results demonstrated that KMKKT alleviated drug-induced side effects through enhanced hematopoiesis, at least in part through cytokine-mediated JAK2/STAT5 signaling.
