강진 고려상감청자의 과학적 분석에 관한 연구

The chemical compositions and microstructure of the Celadon sherd excavated from Kangjin area were investigated by the scanning electron microscopy(SEM), X-ray fluorescence(XRF), X-ray diffraction(XRD), and dilatometer. The chemical compositions of body were SiO_(2)(73-77%), Al_(2)O_(3)(17-19%), RO·RO_(2)(4-5%, R=Ca, Mg, K), R_(x)O_(y)(1-2.5%, R=Fe) in weight ratio. Owing to the high content(12-25%) of calcium oxide the glaze is considered lime type. The chemical compositions of the white and black inlay were Al_(2)O_(3)(37-42%, 19.7%), Fe_(2)O_(3)(1%, 6%) in weight ratio, respectively. White inlay was higher Al_(2)O_(3), whereas black inlay was higher Fe_(2)O_(3) and CaO but lower Al_(2)O_(3). The body of celadon sherd was found quartz and mullite phase. The density of black inlay was higher than that of white inlay. Firing temperature range for the Celadon was presumed to about 1,180℃.

A 10 month-old Yorkshire Terrier was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with the history of lethargy, bile pigment in urine and anorexia. Blood smear showed Heinz body, polychromatocytosis, schistocytosis, anisocytosis, which were the results from the oxidative injury. Hematology demonstrated a moderate anemia(PCV 22.4%, reference rage 35-55%), which was regeneration based on the degree of RPI (4.03, reference rage > 1). Serum biochemistry demonstrated mild elevation in total bilrubin, and mild decrease in total protein and albumin concentration. A diagnosis of Heinz body hemolytic anemia secondary to onion ingestion was made and treated with fluid therapy, oxygen and antioxidant drugs. The dog recovered without any complication.

A Shih-tzu(8-year-old, castrated male) was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with the history of relapsing pruritus, recurrent dermatitis. On the physical examination, generalized erythema, otitis externa, alopecia and lichenification were observed. Using Favrot's criteria for diagnishing atopic dermatitis, 7 criteria were satisfied out of 8 criteria. After treatment for infection, intradermal skin test was performed(positive allergen : Df, Dp). And then immunotherapy was performed, but clinical signs were not getting better. Next treatment of glucocorticoid shown little improvement of clinical signs, and adverse effect(diarrhea) was shown after cyclosporine application. So application of leflunomide which is used for human atopic dermatitis treatment in some case was planned. After 6 months of application of leflunomide, clinical signs were decreased gradually.

A 11-year-old Yorkshire terrier anesthetized for computed tomography. The dog showed cyanosis and syncope during postanesthetic recovery, therefore drug administrated parenterally. Goose-honking was noticed after full recovery. As a result of survey radiography and fluoroscopy, grade 4 tracheal collapse was diagnosed. Prescription for the dog was oral administration of hydrocodone 0.22 mg/kg. theophylline 20 mg/kg, prednisone 0.5 mg/kg, amoxicillin 22 mg/kg and chlorpheniramine 2 mg/kg twice a day for 3 days. A 10-year-old Pomeranian was diagnosed as grade 2 traceal collapse at the local animal hospital 2 years before being referred to the veterinary teaching hospital of Chungnam National University. On physical examination, goose-honking, coughing and intermittent open-mouth breathing. Tracheal narrowing was observed on survey einradiography and fluoroscopy. Oral administration of theophylline 13 mg/kg, enrofloxacin 5 mg/kg, chlropheniramine 0.5 mg/kg twice a day was prescribed for 2 weeks.

A 14-year-old male pomeranian was present with swollen left ear. The swelling occurred from base to apex of pinna. Otitis externa persisted for two years. Hematological and serum biochemistry values were not remarkable. The surgery treatment was the most appropriate method among indwelling drain, surgical, and steroid treatment in the aural hematoma because the dog was very sensitive to touching pinna and the size of aural hematoma. Longitudinal incision was applied after general anesthesia. Cefovecin was injected to prevent secondary infection. The outcome of surgery was good. There was no evidence of recurrence for one year.

300V DC Feed System for Internet Data Center

Internet Data Centers (IDC), as essential facilities for modern IT industry, typically have scores of ㎿ of concentrated electric loads. Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) are necessary for the power feed system of IDCs because of stable power requirement. Thus, conventional AC power feed systems of IDCs have three cascaded power conversion stages such as (AC-DC), (DCAC), and (AC-DC), which results in very low conversion efficiency. On the contrary, DC power feed systems need just a single power conversion stage (AC-DC) supplying AC mains power to DC server loads, which gives comparatively high conversion efficiency and reliability [5]. This paper compares the efficiencies between 220V AC power feed system and 300V DC power feed system on equal load conditions which were established in Mok-Dong IDC of Korea Telecom Co. Ltd. (KT). Experimental results show that the total operation efficiency of the 300V DC power feed system is around 15% higher than that of the 220V AC power feed system.

Identification and Characterization of a Ringspot Isolate of Odontoglossum ringspot virus from Cymbidium var.'Grace Kelly'

An isolate of Odontoglossum ringspot virus (ORSV) was identified from Cymbidium var. 'Grace Kelly' showing ringspot symptom on the floral and leaf parts, and was denoted as cymbidium ringspot isolate (ORSV-CR). In ultrathin sections of leaf tissue from diseased Cymbidium plants, clusters of virus particles were observed in the vacuole and cytoplasm. In the Western blot hybridization, the virus strongly reacted with ORSV-specific antiserum indistinguishable from ORSV, suggesting that the vims is serologically identical with ORSV. ORSV-CR sap was inoculated onto 20 species belonging to 12 genera. Systemic infection occurred in Cymbidium sp., Nicotiana benthamiana and N. clevelandii, the host of which was found to be different from that of ORSV-Cy, the Korean strain of ORSV. The analysis of coat protein (CP) gene showed that ORSV-CR was highly homologous to the known isolates of ORSV, with over 95.6% identity in amino acid level. Phylogenetic tree analysis of CP showed that ORSV-CR was clustered with the known ORSV isolates, suggesting that ORSV is a very stable tobamovirus.

산림공간유형이 기분 개선에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 산림공원과 도시숲 사이에서의 경험이 기분개선에 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위하여 대학생 50명을 대상으로 하여 수행하였다. 연구수행을 하기위해 대전광역시 인근의 산림공원과 도시숲을 대상으로 하였으며, 측정방법으로는 기분상태검사와 의미분별법을 사용하였다. 도시공원에서의 체류는 도시숲과 동일하게 도시환경과 비교하여 쾌적감, 자연감을 높이는 효과가 있었으며, 긴장, 불안감, 혼란을 억제시키는 효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 더 나아가 활력과 진정감을 높이기 위해서는 도시공원을 방문하는 것보다 도시에서 가까운 숲을 방문하는게 활력과 진정감을 높일 수 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. The purpose of this study was to examine the psychological relaxation effects of forest experience in forest park and urban forest on university students. Fifty university students participated in the study as subjects. The subjects seated on a chair and viewing a forest park landscape, urban forest landscape and urban landscape for 15minutes. The semantic differential (SD) method and the profile of mood states (POMS) method were employed in which a questionnaire after subjects sat and viewed the forest park landscape, urban forest landscape and urban landscape. These results support the suggestion that forest park and urban forest has another aims to visit for gain psychological relaxation effects.

Genetic Polymorphisms of CYPB1,and GSTs Genes in Koreans

Functional variants of CYP1B1, COMT and GSTs occur at different frequencies in different ethnic populations. In this study we focus on the distribution of polymorphisms in these genes among Koreans. Genomic DNA from 280 unrelated Korean individuals was assayed for CYP1B1432, COMT108/158 and GSTPl105/114 by PCR amplification followed by digestion with AflⅢ, NlaⅢ, and AciⅠ, respectively. Null genotypes of GSTM1 and GSTT1 were detected by multiplex PCR The CYP1B1432^*Val/^*Val and soluble/membrane genotypes, COMT108/158^*Met/^*Met, were observed at frequencies of only 2.1% and 5.4%, respectively. The frequency of the GSTPll05/114^*A/^*A, ^*A/^*B, and ^*B/^*B genotypes were 69.6%, 28.2%, and 2.2%, respectively. The frequency of null genotypes for GSTM1 and GSTTI was much higher in the Korean population than in most Caucasian populations. Null genotypes for GSTM1 and GSTT1 were present at 52.5% and 48.9%, and the frequency of individuals carrying both null genotypes was 26.8%. The frequency of all loci achieved Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The variant frequency pattern for CYP1B1, COMT and GSTs is similar in Korean and other Asian populations but different in Caucasian populations. These results form a valuable resource for establishing a genetic profile for Koreans and for investigating polymorphisms on a population basis to identify genes responsible for cancer.

Effect of Cooling Rate on Mechanical and Electrical Properties of Cu-TiB₂ by Turbulent In-Situ Mixing Process

<P>A copper matrix composite reinforced with in situ TiB2 nanoparticle was successfully fabricated by tubulent in-situ mixing process. The microstructure, mechanical and electrical properties of the in situ composite were investigated. The results showed that the in situ formed TiB2 particles, in which size varying from about 50nm to 200nm, exhibited a homogenous dispersion in the copper matrix. It is shown that the interface between the nanoscale particles and the matrix was clean without a transitional layer. Because of the reinforcement, the hardness and Young’s Modulus of the composite improved with increment of cooling rate. Moreover, the in situ Cu-TiB2 composite exhibited higher electrical conductivity with increasing of cooling rate.</P>
