Efficiency and stability of an open sky network

North America, Europe, and Asia are three largest regional blocks in the global aviation. EU has liberalized its aviation market within the region, following the north America. However, Asia is still left behind, and most of the markets in the region are still governed by bilateral air service agreements. This paper shows that, any pair of countries with an exclusive bilateral air-service agreement has no incentive to open their market to the third country; and yet that a comprehensive multilateral air service agreement within the entire region improves the welfare of all countries in the region.

Feature extraction of EEG during motor imagery and cognition by using morphological MRA

Electroencephalograph (EEG) recordings during right and left hand motor imagery can be used to move a cursor to a target on a computer screen. Such an EEG-based brain-computer interface (BCI) can provide a new communication channel to replace an impaired motor function. Recently, we have proposed the detection method of Error Potential in order to add the fail safe function to BCI system. In this paper, feature extraction method based on morphological multi-resolution analysis is introduced to extract features concerned with motor imagery and cognition simultaneously from EEG signals. Morphological filter is composed of nonlinear operation between signal and structural function. We propose some design methods of structural function that decide the filter characteristic of morphology. These algorithms are compared to DWT from the view point of filter characteristics. Consequently, effectiveness of our method is confirmed.

Efficiency Measurement Theory and its Application to Airport Benchmarking

Efficiency measurement is critical for industries where firms do not face strong com-petition, as we cannot rely on the market to discipline the firms effectively. Airports are a typical example. At the same time, the fact that airports produces multiple outputs using a common set of inputs calls for a delicate and sophisticated treatment in measuring their efficiencies. The current paper starts out by presenting the conventional methodologies of efficiency measurement such as DEA, Stochastic Frontier method, Productivity Index, and some recent developments in efficiency measurement literature. We then provide a review of the existing literature on the results of airport efficiency measurement, recent advancement on the airport efficiency measurement, and some recent empirical estimates of the effects of ownership forms and governance structures on airport’s efficiency.

Feature Extraction from EEG Signals in P300 Spelling System

Recently, there are many studies on brain computer interface (BCI) system and some use EEG response at oddball paradigms. The aim of this paper is to extract feature (i.e. P300 response) from the EEG signals to improve the spelling system. We propose the method to analyze the averaged EEG signal concerned time and spatial. It is confirmed that the processing period with feature extraction is able to be shortened by averaging multi-channels. Effective information is obtained from the EEG signal near of the center part.

The research present condition of the latest Japanese-language-education community has very many fine data analysis, society announcements which are not helpful and petty papers. However, the most important Japanese Language education is usually done by usual Japanese lesson class. This research presents concretely the method of the teaching-materials development obtained through the Japanese language education for ten years, and a lesson. It is important to also let the student who can speak only Japanese of a beginners" class conversation level know about Japanese culture. Moreover, I think that student"s study motive about Japanese culture simultaneously with Japanese conversation in very many cases. For the education development business in 2011, we are developing Japanese language professor’s lesson method, e-running contests and a multi media lesson resource development. Many teaching materials (resources) devised so that it might be easier for a student to understand the Japanese culture by modern Btimes, modernization, and the present age ancient times of Japan and medieval times are written on this manuscript. The teacher who read this hopes to employ in the lesson which professor takes charge of efficiently.
