        포유동물에 있어서의 시간생물학(chronobiology)

        곤충류는 지구상의 육상동물중 개체의 생존에의 필수의 방어능력, 유지에 해당되는 가장 잘 조화된 행동반응(behavioral periodicity)으로 오늘날에 이르고 있는 것으로 알려져 있어 이들의 기본적인 반응(Circadian 리듬등)에 대하여 소개하였다. 이와같은 현상은 사람이나 마우스의 혈액세포 또는 비장세포에서도 circadian 리듬이 있음이 밝혀졌다. 이와같은 기초연구를 바탕으로 하여 똑같은 조건하에서 수술시간대만을 달리 설정하여 쥐에서 신장이식 수술을 실시한 결과 수술시간대별에 따라서 생존율에 크게 차이가 있음(circadian 리듬)이 알려졌다. Many of activities of insects(locomotion, feeding, mating, oviposition, eclosion, etc.) also occur at regular intervals. The patterns of recurrence of particular activities may be every 24 hours, monthly, annually, in coordination with thee lunar cycle(rhythm), and so on Periodicity in behavior involves both endogenous and exogenous components. Endogenous components are related to its heredity. These include, in particular, rhythms, but the stage in a given physiological-behavioral cycle, developmental stage, and other endogenous factors may also play a role. Exogenous components arise from the external environment Rhythms are processes that are controlled by an biological clock gene. They characteristically continue even when external conditions(temperature, light, etc.) are kept constant. Most rhythms that have been identified have a period of approximately 24 hours and are referred to as circadian(about a day) rhythms. Several examples of circadian rhythms have been identified in mammals. A variation of the immune response are studied by performing kidney allografts across a strong genetic barrier at different time points of the day in rats standardized in light from 06^(00) to 18^(00), alternation with darkness. Transplantations were done at each of the following midpoints : 00^(00), 04^(00), 08^(00), 12^(00), 16^(00), and 20^(00). A mode in mortality is found in this histocompatible combination at approximately seven days after kidney transplantation. At 21 days the survival rate is 50 percent for the allografts performed at 20^(00). Rhythme characterizing the surgeon, as well as the donor and the recipient, probably are involved in transplantation. The interaction of such rhythms is revealed by the bioperiocity of postoperative survival times.

        Double-plane steps discontinuity in rectangular waveguide is investigated with TE^(x)_(mn) mode analysis. This method accounts for the influence of evanescent fields and power transmission due to higher order modes. For these discontinuites the electromagnetic fields are derived and the scattering matrix is derived by applying the continuous condition in discontinuity. The scattering coefficients of a X-band to Ku-band waveguide transition as well as of resonant iris with finite thickness (t=2.0mm) are calculated and compared with Patzelt's result. The scattering coefficients of the resonant iris (a= 7.112mm, b= 3.556mm, a_(1) = 4.0mm, b_(1) =1.0mm, t=0.5mm) are calculated and compared with Bornemann's results.

This paper analysis propagation chracterics to multipath and then compute theoretical value of field strength which vectorial compose and compared with measured value. Seorm base station is to unity south area of Cheju by single propagation area. But Gunwelak base station cause a weak and impossible received field area to increase obstruction. In order to replace it, we necessary technique study of new mobile communication propagation environment. For take a accuracy received field strength, the first thing field strength of a point must measure many times and calculate mean value of it. The second we must suggest an analytical modeling to compose to these measured values.

        Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber의 열적 열화 특성

        Thermal degradation of Acrylonitrile butadiene rubber(NBR), which is used for 0-ring material as elastomeric sealed diaphragm valve in the nuclear power plants, is examined. The thermal degradation is accelerated at l30℃ by Arrhenius exploit method using the activation energy calculated by thennogravimetric analysis. The weight loss temperature and glass transition temperature are verified for thermally aged NBR The relationship between dynamic mechanical properties and elongation at break are also investigated. The threshold value of thermally aged NBR is a ten year in the change of elongation at break.

        Monoclonal antibody to progesterone was produced using the antigen 11α-hydroxyprogesterone hemisuccinate conjigated to bovine serum albumin. Hybridomas secreting antibody to progesterone were detected by radioimmunoassay and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and cloned in soft agar. Five to fifteen percent of antibody producing clones were obtained from the fusants. These clones orginated from cultures producing very low binding affinity were therefore not cloned. Two stable Monoclonal antibodies are highly specific, so they may be advantageously used to study on serveral physiological functions including immunological research.

        Establishment for Improving Productivity of Cattle by Fecal Steroid and Milk Urea Nitrogen Analysis : I.Development of Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay for Progesterone and Milk Urea Nitrogen Analysis in Cattle

        This study was carried out to determine the blood and milk progesterone by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and milk urea nitrogen (MUN) in cows. MUN and protein concentration were determined using automated infared procedures. The optimum conditions of ELISA system was investigated including the first and second antibody titres, bound percent, and enzyme conjugate and also the factors on MUN and protein concentration by sampling procedures and addition of preservatives. Progesterone antibodies did not react to pregnenlone, testosterone, estrone, estradiol-17β, aldosterone, cortisol, corticosterone and 11α-dehydroxycortisone (DOC), but reacted with only progesterone. The intra and inter-assay coefficient of variation 4.5%, 6.1∼9.4% when used of bovine serum. The morning, MUN concentration (17.6±2.8 mg/100 ml) in the 13 herds was similar to that of evening MUN concentration of the lactating cows from the same herd. A significant relationship between moning and evening milk samples of upper parameters was found r = 0.93. Difference in MUN concentration with sampling procedures and using of preservatives were investigated.

        Background: Vitiligo is a pigmentary skin disorder characterized by the chronic and progressive loss of melanocytes. Human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-G is a nonclassic, major histocompatibility complex class I molecule that plays an important role in suppression of the immune response. Several recent studies have provided evidence that a 14-bp insertion/deletion polymorphism in the HLA-G gene might be associated with autoimmune disease. Objectives: Our aim in this study was to determine whether the 14-bp insertion/deletion polymorphism in the HLA-G gene contributes to the risk of developing non-segmental vitiligo (NSV) in the Korean population. Methods: We conducted a case-control association study of 192 NSV patients and 491 matched, unaffected controls. The HLA-G 14-bp insertion/deletion polymorphism was analyzed by gene scan after amplification using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results: Genotypes for the 14-bp indel were different between the vitiligo group and Korean control group. The proportion of subjects with a homozygote 224 bp/224 bp genotype was significantly higher in the vitiligo group than the control group (7.1% vs. 3.5%, OR=2.25, 95% CI=1.06-4.76, P=0.039 in the recessive model). Conclusion: Our results suggest that the HLA-G 14-bp insertion/deletion polymorphism is associated with the development of NSV in the Korean population.

      • Characteristics and Application of Monoclonal Antibody to Progesterone : Ⅱ. Development of Progesterone Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay(ELISA) Ⅱ. ELISA 기법의 개발

        The experiment was carried out to develop a sensitive, raoid, solidphase microtiture plate asssy for quantification of progesterone using the monoclonal antibodt to this hormone. Monoclonal antibody to progesterone exhibiter much higher titre and binding affinity about 10 times than conventional polyclonal antibody to progesterone. Dot-blot analysis of monoclonal antibody revealed a single precipitation band when reacted with anti-mouse IgM and anti-mouse K. A competivitive reaction eas used with a reaction time of 2 hours. The standard dose-response surve was linear(logit/log) though 1000pg/well. This ELISA system approach is applicable to evaluation for the rapid assessment of luteal function and reproductive status in both clinical and research in a wide variety of animal species.
