Labeling of oral spirochetes with fluorescent fatty acids
Jin Hong,Kyu Joong Kim,Si Young Lee KOREAN ACADAMY OF ORAL BIOLOGY 2008 International Journal of Oral Biology Vol.33 No.2
Oral spirochetes are anaerobes known as one of causative agents for periodontal diseases. In this study, we investigated the possibility of utilizing fluorescent fatty acids for labeling oral spirochetes. Bacterial labeling was standardized with three different lengths of fluorescent fatty acids: 5-octadecanoylaminfluorescein (OAF), 5-dodecanoylamin-fluorescein (DAF), and 5-hexadecanoylaminfluorescein (HAF). Among these fatty acids, OAF showed the best labeling activity. Treponema denticola ATCC 35405 was totally saturated to the maximum when incubated with OAF 1 μg/ml for 1 hour. Treponema vincentii LA-1 also increased in fluorescence in proportion to incubation time length and the concentration. In conclusion, these findings showed the possibility that the fluorescent fatty acid can be used for labeling oral spirochetes.
Performance comparison of cryptanalytic time memory data tradeoff methods
Jin Hong 대한수학회 2016 대한수학회보 Vol.53 No.5
The execution complexities of the major time memory data tradeoff methods are analyzed in this paper. The multi-target tradeoffs covered are the classical Hellman, distinguished point, and fuzzy rainbow methods, both in their non-perfect and perfect table versions for the latter two methods. We show that their computational complexities are identical to those of the corresponding single-target methods executed under certain matching parameters and conclude that the perfect table fuzzy rainbow tradeoff method is most preferable.
Outage Performance for DF Two-Way Relaying with Co-Channel Interference over Nakagami-m Fading
( Jinhong Fan ),( Chaowei Yuan ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.11
In this paper, we investigate the outage performance of a two-way decode-and-forward relaying network in an interference-limited Nakagami-m fading environment. More specifically, assuming the presence of Nakagami-m faded multiple co-channel interferers at the source/destination terminals, the closed-form approximate expression for the outage probability is derived by using moment-based estimators attaining the appropriate Nakagami-m fading parameter. Simulation results demonstrate that our analytical result is in excellent agreement with the Monte Carlo simulation.
Tracking of Multiple Moving Targets using Mobile Networks based on Mutual Information
Jinhong Lim,H. Jin Kim 제어로봇시스템학회 2016 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2016 No.10
Tracking multiple targets is one of the important problems to make unmanned ground or aerial vehicles autonomously perform specific tasks. However, the tracking problem has several challenges due to factors such as limited field of view of sensors, unknown number of targets, and difficulty in predicting future movement of the targets. In this paper, the target tracking and estimation of the number of targets are performed using Gaussian mixture-probability hypothesis density (GM-PHD) filter, enhanced by Gaussian process-based motion model learning to predict movement of targets. Next, autonomous control framework of mobile networks is presented, maximizing mutual information between estimated target positions and measurements from sensors. The Gaussian process-based motion model learning enables more accurate estimation of GM-PHD filter for the targets with unknown dynamics. Besides, the mutual informationbased mobile networks control enables autonomous distribution of sensors to detect maximum number of targets. The performance of the framework is evaluated by simulation in terms of the expected number of targets detected by the mobile networks.
Technical Analysis of Clearwell in Water works using CF
Jinhong Jung,Gyewoon Choi 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.9 No.3
The purpose of this study was to evaluate retention time distribution and flow line clearwell in water works using computational fluid dynamics. With the finite volume method using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD), a technical diagnosis of clearwell in the water purification process was performed using an unstructured hexahedral grid system. A vector simulation showed stagnation for over 400 seconds at the circulation areas. Where clearwell have an average flow rate, a vector analysis at a height of 1.0 m showed a normal flow downstream. However, some sections of the L-shaped rear section at the left bottom of Clearwell No. 1 partially had the vortex that could cause stagnation. An analysis of flow speed contour line showed that a row of dividers in clearwell partially served as partitions. The results of the analysis can be used as basic data for the creation of alternatives such as the installation of supplementary training walls within clearwell.

A grid-connected hybrid distributed generation system, composed of PV(photovoltaic) array, wind turbine and BESS(battery energy storage system), is proposed for various power transfer functions to the distribution network. The proposed system has several operation modes which are normal operation, power dispatching, and power averaging, according to coordinate control of the BESS and grid inverter. PV array and wind turbine are individually controlled to operate at the maximum power point for the most use of renewable energy. The BESS operates as an energy buffer to flexibly shift the generation from the renewable energy sources without excessively frequent shifts between battery charging and discharging. A grid interface inverter regulates the generated power injection into the grid. Developed prototype system design and experimental results are presented to demonstrate the performance and to validate the proposed system during its operation modes.
Influence of Interface Structure on Dielectric Properties of Epoxy/Alumina Nanocomposites
Jinhong Yu,Genglin Wang,Ruimei Huo,Chao Wu,Xinfeng Wu,Pingkai Jiang 한국고분자학회 2012 Macromolecular Research Vol.20 No.8
Alumina (Al2O3) nanoparticles with three different interface structures have been selected as reinforcement fillers for epoxy nanocomposite, that is surface untreated Al2O3 nanoparticles, γ-aminopropyl-triethoxysilane modified Al2O3 nanoparticles (Al2O3-APS), and hyperbranched aromatic polyamide grafted Al2O3 nanoparticles (Al2O3-HBP). The interface structures of the Al2O3 nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction and atomic force micrographs. Our studies reported the influence of the interface structure of Al2O3 nanoparticles on the morphology and dielectric properties of epoxy nanocomposites. It was found that the incorporation of the Al2O3-APS and Al2O3-HBP nanoparticles not only improved the dispersion of the nanoparticles in the epoxy matrix, but also enhanced the glass transition temperatures (Tgs) and largely influenced the dielectric properties of the epoxy nanocomposites as compared with the nanocomposites filled with the surface untreated Al2O3 nanoparticles. The improvement of Tgs, volume resistivity, dielectric strength, and the reduction of dielectric loss could be attributed to the good dispersion and special interface structure of the Al2O3 nanoparticles in the epoxy matrix.
