        Accidents are important causes of death and disability in children. They also have enormous financial implications. Young children become a victim of accidents easily because of their physical fragileness and their coping behavior being vulnerable to any actions taken by accidents. Once they have an accident, the children whose not ful1y developed, suffer from devastating long-term after-effects. Lee, Lee, Kang and Han(1995) reported that ninety percent of accidents can be prevented. But there is no national system to manage, evaluate and analyse the information about child accidents, even though it is necessary for accident prevention policies and health promotion of the general public. The purpose of the study was to determine how often children have accidents and the Knowledge toward accident in Children. The investigator conducted a descriptive study by performing the interviews for the 268 young children. The data collection for the study began on September 2000 and completed on April 2001. The analysis of the data was done with Window SPSS 10.0 for descriptive statistics. Among those children, 247 case reported from accidents. The children who had accident answered that they injured from inside the home(31.2%), traffic accident(29.9%), on the playground(27.1%) and in the school(4.9%). Among 268 children 57.5% answered that they know what is safety accident. Among 268 children 43.7% answered that they obey the precautionary regulations a safety accident. Taking Societal responsibilities and changing public policies should be followed by legal enforcement accordingly. Greater efforts are required to reduce unnecessary deaths and disability from childhood accidents. The lessons already learned in many parts of the world must now be put into much wider use and practice in Korea. This study gave a very useful and important data to prepare accident prevention educational program and to prepare accident prevention strategies.

        Post-traumatic Stress Risk Factor in Fire Fighters

        As technical civilization took place, material abundance got increased, but life became in a state where it is more insecure and precarious in which now anxiety is increasing. Since the collapse of Sampoong Department Store 20 years ago, until nowadays as Sewol Ferry Disaster, danger is lurking everywhere, and as more disasters occur, the more attention on safety is increasing. Fire Fighters, due to the instability of scene, are exposed to various stress and often experience a post-traumatic stress (PTS). PTS reduces concentration on job and its satisfaction, and causing turnover urge, causes a negative consequences on reducing the result of the organization. This study was to identify which variables are most important risky factor in fire fighters PTS, progressed simple and multiple logistic regression. The risk factors of PTS of fire fighters are, age, period of working experience, current affairs, current job performance period, frequency of mobilization of past 1 year, the main stress-inducing tasks, group requiring no consultation, psychotherapy and any needs, and the group who hasn t used mental health service. Statistically significant predictor of post-traumatic stress were found to be frequency of mobilization of past 1year, group requiring no consultation, psychotherapy and any needs, and the group who hasn t used mental health service. As conclusion, Fire fighter’s PTS can be decreased by Putting fire fighters who has experienced traumatic events as targets, should discover a high-risk group in advance. It is necessary to develop a Critical incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) program. Through the linkage with the experts in the workplace, should maintain prevention and management on PTS.

        Purpose: To propose suggestions for future direction of health informatics in Sri Lanka with the understanding of existing situation in Sri Lanka and world. Methodology: Online literature search from journal articles and other documents Findings: Application of Health Information System (HIS) in health informatics has been implemented on project basis at district level by facing various barriers. Experience of efficiency and effectiveness have been motivated to expand the application up to national level. Conclusion: Applications of health informatics in Sri Lanka is limited when comparing with other countries in the world due to various barriers.

      • Youth Mental Health CRISIS and Countermeasure in KOREAN

        Adolescence is a rapid change of physical, psychological state mental health problems but also the prime of life is easy to develop also in times of crisis. This study was tried to examine realization degree about children s mental health problem to parents who keep youth children, and presents countermeasure plan on the basis of youth mental health problem admin-istration present condition from domestic and outside the country. Examined to parents who keep youth children inhabiting to B city for parents realization investigation about youth mental health problem, investigation period was enforced over about 1 month from October 8, 2012. By enumeration method through preparatory audit (pilot-test), expert inquiry correction and supplementation. It was said that there is no result of study, 27.3% of parents responded that youth children have mental health problem, and experience that 67.2% of these seeks cooperation in the school for problem solution. De-gree that recognize youth mental health problem and experience that seek cooperation in the school for chil-dren’s mental health problem solution of study were shown low ratio. Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Ministry of Education, Health-Welfare Ministry and NGO is pro-gressing youth problem behavior administration, mental health examination, suicide courtesy call and pro-gram for positive realization change for our country youth mental health administration, and the United States of America and Britain are administering support program for each parents·family support program and school violence prevention as outside the country example. Present our country youth mental health administration who analyze interior and exterior s program are do-ing to school and youth mainly, and program that manage with parents can confirm that is unprepared rela-tively. Therefore, for communication and stress administration program and family bonds strengthening doing to parents and youth children for youth mental health problem solution. Must have systematic backing, and need continuous educational connection and national policy for mutual interchange that compose parents - school conference. I wish to quoat countermeasure plan to manage youth mental health problem on the basis of this. First, need two-way and positive communication education program. Second, it must be educational link and on-time interchange composing school-parents conference. Third, weekend must strengthen family’s bonds by recreation of holiday that attend to learning program or experience program after school. Fourth, it must be establishment of debate culture policy.

        Achievements of the International Safe Community Movement in Busan Metropolitan, Republic of Korea

        Community-based injury prevention under the International Safe Community model is a cost-effective and successful way to reduce injury and increase safety in communities. Safe community programs are important factors influencing overall health and major public health issues around the world. The purpose of this study is to describe and evaluate outcomes and achievements of the Busan Metropolitan International Safe Community program. For this study, we analyzed all data from 13 administrative agencies from 2009 to 2018 and compared each year of injury statistics with injury indicators including core indicator, supplementary indicators, and optional indicators as central data in order to identify outcomes of the Busan Metropolitan Safe Community program. We also evaluated effectiveness of programs through a statistical testing. The Sustainable Busan Metropolitan City Safety Community Program will contribute to realizing the government s goals for the Busan Metropolitan Safety policies and improving the quality of life for Busan citizens. We ultimately plan to contribute to an establishment of the safety culture targeting the whole citizens of all ages, genders, and social classes.

        A Concept Analysis on Emotional Competency of Nursing Students for their Crisis Management Competency

        병원에서의 위기관리를 하는 주역인 간호사가 될 간호대학생의 감성역량에 대한 개념분석을 통해 개념의 명확한 속성과 이론적 기초를 마련하기 위함이다. 간호대학생의 감성역량을 잘 이해하는 것은 중요하며, 명확한 감성역량을 이해하고자 Walker & Avant(2005)의 개념분석 방법에 따라 여러 문헌 고찰을 통하여 분석하였다. 간호대학생의 감성역량의 속성은 (1) 자기 인식 및 관리, (2) 타인과 의 교감, (3) 학업에 대한 동기부여로 도출되었다. 간호대학생의 감성역량의 선행요인은 (1) 대인관 계 기술 필요, (2) 환자의 서비스 요구도 증가로 도출되었고, 간호대학생의 감성역량의 결과는 (1) 공감적 이해, (2) 조화로운 대인관계, (3) 학업 성취 향상으로 도출되었다. 본 연구에서 밝혀진 속성을 모두 포함할 수 있는 간호대학생의 감성역량을 측정할 수 있는 도구의 개발이 필요하며, 이 개념을 적용한 중재 전략에 대한 후속연구가 이루어지기를 제언한다. The purpose of this study is to provide a clear understanding of the concept and the theoretical basis of the emotional competence of nursing college students who will take the lead in crisis management in the hospital. In order to understand the emotional competence of nursing students, we used the concept analysis method of Walker and Avant (2005) through various literature review. The main attributes of emotional competence among nursing students include (1) self-awareness and self-management, (2) communication with others, and (3) motivation for study, while the outcomes of their emotional competence consist of (1) empathic understanding, (2) harmonious interpersonal relationship, and (3) improvement in academic achievement. We need to develop a tool to measure the emotional competence of nursing students based on all the attributes revealed in this study.
