Numerical solution of special two-order boundary-value problems

        R. Jalilian,I. Almassi,A. Sephrianazar,H. Jalilian 장전수학회 2012 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.22 No.1

We develop a method for the numerical solution of singularly per-turbed two-point boundary-value problems by using quartic spline at mid knots. The purposed method is fourth-order accurate and ap-plicable to problems both in singular and non-singular cases. The convergence analysis of the method is discussed and numerical results are given to illustrate the effciency of our method.

Development of a $^{68}Ga$-Fluorinated Porphyrin Complex as a Possible PET Imaging Agent

        Fazaeli, Yousef,Jalilian, Amir R.,Amini, Mostafa M.,Ardaneh, Khosro,Rahiminejad, Ali,Bolourinovin, Fatemeh,Moradkhani, Sedigheh,Majdabadi, Abbas The Korea Society of Nuclear Medicine 2012 핵의학 분자영상 Vol.46 No.1

Aim Due to the interesting pharmacologic properties of porphyrins, the idea of developing a possible tumor imaging agent using PET by incorporating $^{68}Ga$ into a suitable porphyrin ligand was investigated. Methods $^{68}Ga$-labeled 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(pentafluoro-13 phenyl) porphyrin ($^{68}Ga$-TFPP) was prepared using freshly eluted $[^{68}Ga]GaCl_3$ obtained from a 68Ge/68Ga generator developed in-house and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl) porphyrin (H2TFPP) for 60 min at $100^{\circ}C$. Results The complex was prepared with high radiochemical purity (>99% ITLC, >99% HPLC, specific activity: 13-14 GBq/mmol). Stability of the complex was checked in the final formulation and in human serum for 5 h. The partition coefficient was calculated for the compound (log P = 0.62). The biodistribution of the labeled compound in vital organs of Swiss mice bearing fibrosarcoma tumors was studied using scarification studies and SPECT imaging up to 1 h. The complex was mostly washed out from the circulation through kidneys and liver. The tumor-to-muscle ratio 1 h post injection was 5.13. Conclusion The radiolabeled porphyrin complex demonstrated potential for further imaging studies in other tumor models.

Ab initio Calculations of Electronic and Optical Properties of BeO Nanosheet

        Sh. Valedbagi,J. Jalilian,S. M. ELAHI,S. Majidi,A. Fathalian,V. Dalouji 대한금속·재료학회 2014 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.10 No.1

The electronic and the linear optical properties of BeO nanosheet and wurtzite structure are investigated by using the full potential linear augmented plane wave plus local orbital (FPLAPW + lo) in the frame work of the density functional theory (DFT). The dielectric tensor is derived within the random phase approximation (RPA). Specifically, dielectric function, absorption coefficient, optical conductivity, extinction index, loss function, reflectivity and the refraction index of the BeO nanosheet are calculated for both parallel and perpendicular electric field polarizations. The results show that the optical conductivity in E|| x starts with a gap about 5.89 eV confirms that BeO nanosheet has semiconductor property also the optical spectra are anisotropic along these two polarizations. The static refractive index of nanosheet is smaller than wurtzite structure.

Modeling and forecasting of the under-five mortality rate in Kermanshah province in Iran: a time series analysis

        Mehran Rostami,Abdollah Jalilian,Behrooz Hamzeh,Zahra Laghaei 한국역학회 2015 Epidemiology and Health Vol.37 No.-

OBJECTIVES: The target of the Fourth Millennium Development Goal (MDG-4) is to reduce the rate of un-der-five mortality by two-thirds between 1990 and 2015. Despite substantial progress towards achieving the target of the MDG-4 in Iran at the national level, differences at the sub-national levels should be taken into consideration. METHODS: The under-five mortality data available from the Deputy of Public Health, Kermanshah Universi-ty of Medical Sciences, was used in order to perform a time series analysis of the monthly under-five mortality rate (U5MR) from 2005 to 2012 in Kermanshah province in the west of Iran. After primary analysis, a season-al auto-regressive integrated moving average model was chosen as the best fitting model based on model se-lection criteria. RESULTS: The model was assessed and proved to be adequate in describing variations in the data. However, the unexpected presence of a stochastic increasing trend and a seasonal component with a periodicity of six months in the fitted model are very likely to be consequences of poor quality of data collection and reporting systems. CONCLUSIONS: The present work is the first attempt at time series modeling of the U5MR in Iran, and re-veals that improvement of under-five mortality data collection in health facilities and their corresponding sys-tems is a major challenge to fully achieving the MGD-4 in Iran. Studies similar to the present work can en-hance the understanding of the invisible patterns in U5MR, monitor progress towards the MGD-4, and predict the impact of future variations on the U5MR.

Preparation and Evaluation of 68Ga-ECC as a PET Renal Imaging Agent

        Alireza Mirzaei,Amir Reza Jalilian,Ayuob Aghanejad,Mohammad Mazidi,Hassan Yousefnia,Gholamali Shabani,Khosro Ardaneh,Parham Geramifar,Davood Beiki 대한핵의학회 2015 핵의학 분자영상 Vol.49 No.3

Purpose Development of a gallium-68-labeled renal tracer can be a good substitute for Tc-99m, a known SPECT tracer. In this study, effort was made to develop 68Gaethylenecysteamine cysteine (68Ga-ECC). Methods Ga-ECC was prepared using generator-based 68GaCl3 and ethylenecysteamine cysteine (ECC) at optimized conditions. Stability of the complex was checked in human serum followed by partition coefficient determination of the tracer. The biodistribution of the tracer in rats was studied using tissue counting and PET/CT imaging up to 120 min. Results Ga-ECC was prepared at optimized conditions in 15 min at 90 °C (radiochemical purity ≈97±0.88 % ITLC, >99 % HPLC, specific activity: 210±5 GBq/mM). 68Ga- ECC was a water-soluble complex based on partition coefficient data (log P; −1.378) and was stable in the presence of human serum for 2 h at 37 °C. The biodistribution of the tracer demonstrated high kidney excretion of the tracer in 10– 20 min. The SUVmax ratios of the liver to left kidney were 0.38 and 0.39 for 30 and 90 min, respectively, indicating high kidney uptake. Conclusion Initial biodistribution results showed significant kidney and urinary excretion of the tracer comparable to that of the homologous 99mTc compound. The complex could be a possible PET kidney imaging agent with a fast imaging time.

Predicting the combined effect of TiO2 nano-particles and welding input parameters on the hardness of melted zone in submerged arc welding by fuzzy logic

Masood Aghakhani,Mohammad Reza Ghaderi,Maziar Mahdipour Jalilian,Ali Ashraf Derakhshan 대한기계학회 2013 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.27 No.7

Submerged arc welding (SAW) is a high-quality arc welding process used in heavy industries for welding thick plates. In this process, selecting appropriate values for the input parameters is required for high productivity and cost effectiveness. A very important weld quality characteristic affected by welding input parameters is the hardness of melted zone (HMZ). This paper reports the applicability of fuzzy logic (FL) to predict HMZ in the SAW process which is affected by the combined effect of TiO2 nano-particles and welding input parameters. The arc voltage, welding current, welding speed, contact tip-to-plate distance, and TiO2 nano-particles were used as input parameters and HMZ as the response to develop FL model. A five-level five-factor central composite rotatable design (CCRD) was used in the experiments to generate experimental data. Experiments were performed, and HMZs were measured. The predicted results from FL were compared with the experimental data. The correlation factor value obtained was 99.99% between the measured and predicted values of HMZ. The results showed that FL is an accurate and reliable technique for predicting HMZ because of its low error rate.

      • Endometrial Adenocarcinoma: Clinicopathologic and Survival Characteristics in Yazd, Iran

Binesh, Fariba,Akhavan, Ali,Behniafard, Nasim,Jalilian, Samaneh Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.6

Background: Endometrial adenocarcinoma is the most common gynecological cancer in the Western world and its incidence appears to be rising. However, population-based studies on endometrial cancer providing survival estimates by age, histology, and stage in Asia have been sparse. The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinicopathological data and survival for patients with endometrial adenocarcinoma treated at three institutions in Yazd, Iran. Materials and Methods: Medical and anatomicopathological records at the Department of Pathology and Radiotherapy of the Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences and Madar private hospital, between 2005 and 2012 were reviewed. All cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma were included. The Kaplan-Maier method was used for survival analysis and Cox proportional hazards model for multiple regression analysis. Results: The study included 84 patients. Stages I, II, III, and IV were identified in 65.4%, 21.5%, 11.9% and 1.2%, respectively. Disease-free survival rate was $73.9{\pm}3.77$ months (95% confidence interval, 64.51-83.22 months) and relapse occurred in 12.3% of the patients. The overall survival rate was $78.2{\pm}3.65$ months (95% confidence interval, 71.0-85.3 months). A multivariate analysis revealed that stage and grade were associated with overall survival. Conclusions: In this survival analysis of patients with endometrial cancer, we found that the prognosis of endometrial cancer was fair but strongly varied by stage and grade, and moderately varied by histology and age.
