Generally, shear wall system appears to resist the lateral loads, because high-rise buildings require satisfaction of building drift limit due to lateral loads. However shear wall system used mostly concrete, in this paper steel plate shear wall use to resist the lateral loads instead of reinforced concrete wall system. But, there is lack of research and understanding of steel plate shear wall system so that no real building of such system exists in Korea. This paper demonstrates stability and serviceability of steel plate shear wall by preliminary experimental test.

현재 폐목재의 발생량은 국내의 연간 목재사용량의 40% 정도의 수준으로 국내의 목재자급율을 고려해볼 때, 목재패널산업에서의 이런 폐목재의 재활용은 많이 장려되어야 한다. 본 연구는 폐목재로부터 얻어진 파티클과 실험실에서 합성한 요소수지를 폐목재파티클의 전건무게에 대해 6% 첨가하여 열압온도 162℃와 열압시간 5분에서 파티클보드를 제조하고 ASTM D 1037 방법에 의해 파티클보드의 성능을 평가하였다. 파티클보드의 성능을 평가한 결과는 KS F 3104 파티클보드 8.0형의 최소요구를 만족시키는 것이다. 이런 파티클보드의 성능평가 결과는 폐목재가 파티클보드의 원료로 적합하다는 것을 보여준다. The generation of wastewood is currently about 40% level of the amount of domestic wood use. When the rate of wood self-supply is considered, the recycling of wastewood in wood panel products industry should be encouraged. This study was evaluated the performance of particleboard (PB) made from wastewood. PBs were manufactured with the synthesized urea-formaldehyde resin at 5 minutes hot-press time, and at 162℃ press temperature with 6 percent resin solids level on an ovendry wastewood particle weight basis. The PBs were tested by the procedure of ASTM D 1037. Test results exceeded the minimum strength requirement according to KS F 3104 Particleboard type 8.0. The PB's performance showed that wastewood is suitable raw material for PB.

Abstract - In this thesis, we propose a QoS supporting method on wireless ad hoc-based active network for improving reliability. On the loss of route path, the existing DSR routing protocol has several problems with wireless network communication because of decease of data reception rate and increase of network load. The proposed method improves reliability of data transfer by using functions of active network. That is, by using functions of active nodes and active packets, the proposed method supports QoS with reservation transfer method that saves data packets on transfer at intermediate nodes with lost path and then re-transmit the packets after route reconfiguration.

In this paper, we propose a bidirectional mobile Ad Hoc routing protocol based on AODV(ad-hoc on-demand distance vector routing) with QoS(quality of service) support. At presence, wireless mobile communication focuses on how to efficiently support mobility of users more than QoS guarantee. However, in order to satisfy requirement of various applications which have been or will be served, QoS guarantee between end points is a very important issue. The existing AODV routing protocol is implemented to use only BE (Best Effort) service. However, actual wireless mobile environment requires to reduce a waste of communication resources and meet with the real-time change of data paths by setting up routes with QoS support, considering available communication resources at each node in advance. Therefore, in this thesis, we propose an adaptive QoS support method using hello message in order to rapidly meet with the change of available communication resources and to smoothly perform route maintenance. For performance evaluation, we analyzed the average data reception rate. At that time, we used evaluation parameters such as node's mobility-stop time, hello message period, and packet priority, considering the node's mobility and the number of best effort/QoS data flows. As results, we found that with our proposed method the average data reception rate was increased 16.293%, 15.914%, 17.238% for 300 mobility-stop second case and 4.809%, 4.264%, 2.956% for 300 mobility-stop second case.

In this paper, we propose an formation-keeping and changing methods for outdoor multiple mobile robots in chained form. The proposed method is designed to maintain the follower to its desired distance and orientation with respect to the pole using the concept of virtual force such as potential field. We use the centralized system and the client robots use the behavior-based control to perform kinematic control to keep formation. The relationship of each poles that is expressed by set of distance and angle is the description of the formation type and the type converting is performed using this set. In addition, we also examine the stability and capability in the simulation and experiments with real robots.
Cerebral Artery Dissection: Spectrum of Clinical Presentations Related to Angiographic Findings

<P><B>Purpose</B></P><P>Cerebral arterial dissections are recognized as a common cause of stroke. However, few studies have reported on the distribution of cerebral arterial dissection and angiographic pattern related to the presenting clinical symptom pattern. We analyzed the distribution of cerebral artery dissection along with angiographic and clinical presenting a pattern as depicted on angiograms.</P><P><B>Materials and Methods</B></P><P>From January 2000 to January 2007, 133 arterial dissection patients admitted to our institutes were retrospectively reviewed. The characteristic angiographic findings of all cerebral arteries were carefully evaluated on 4-vessel angiograms. The male-female ratio was 77: 56 and the mean age was 51 years. According to the angiographic finding depicting the location of the dissection plane in the arterial wall, we categorized to steno-occlusive, aneurysmal, combined and unclassifiable pattern. In each dissection pattern, we evaluated presenting symptoms and presence of infarction or hemorrhage.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>The most common symptom on presentation was headache (47%), followed by motor weakness of arm or leg (31%), dysarthria/aphasia (19%) and vertigo (16%). The most common angiographic pattern was steno-occlusive (46%), followed by combined (steno-occlusive and aneurismal) (27%) and aneurysmal (22%) patterns. Steno-occlusive pattern was most commonly related to infarction (33/61, 54%) in contrast that aneurysmal pattern was most frequently related to subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) (7/29, 24%). The most frequent abnormality in patients with dissection of the intradural vertebral arteries including posterior cerebral artery (PCA) was SAH (23/70, 33%), followed by infarction. Infarction was the most common abnormality in patients with the extradural and intradural carotid arteries, and the extradural vertebral artery.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>In contrast that the extradural arterial dissections tended to result in ischemia with steno-occlusive pattern, the intradural arterial dissections tended to result in SAH with aneurysmal type, especially in the vertebral artery. Dissection requires combined analysis of angiographic pattern and type of stroke depending on the location.</P>
Zinc finger proteins orchestrate active gene silencing during embryonic stem cell differentiation

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Transcription factors and chromatin remodeling proteins control the transcriptional variability for ESC lineage commitment. During ESC differentiation, chromatin modifiers are recruited to the regulatory regions by transcription factors, thereby activating the lineage-specific genes or silencing the transcription of active ESC genes. However, the underlying mechanisms that link transcription factors to exit from pluripotency are yet to be identified. In this study, we show that the Ctbp2-interacting zinc finger proteins, Zfp217 and Zfp516, function as linkers for the chromatin regulators during ESC differentiation. CRISPR-Cas9-mediated knock-outs of both Zfp217 and Zfp516 in ESCs prevent the exit from pluripotency. Both zinc finger proteins regulate the Ctbp2-mediated recruitment of the NuRD complex and polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) to active ESC genes, subsequently switching the H3K27ac to H3K27me3 during ESC differentiation for active gene silencing. We therefore suggest that some zinc finger proteins orchestrate to control the concise epigenetic states on active ESC genes during differentiation, resulting in natural lineage commitment.</P>
