        Coronal flaring 전, 후 초기근관장 파일크기의 분석

        The purpose of this study was to compare the inital apical file(IAF) first file that fits to the apex in each canal before and after early flaring to analyze if the size of file to fit to the apex would increase after flaring. Eighty anterior teeth with complete apical formation and patent foramens were selected. The samples were randomly divided into 4 groups(GG, OS, GT, PT Group) of 20 teeth each. A file was fit to the apex in each canal and that size recorded. Radicular flaring were completed using different types of instruments. After flaring a file was again fit to the apex in the same manner as before and its size recorded. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The mean diameter of IAF before flaring(file diameters in mm ×10^-2) was 19.81±8.32 before and 25.94±9.21 after(p<0.05). 2. The increase in diameter of IAF was approximately one file size for all groups. 3. Ranking of increasing diameter of IAF were GG>GT>OS>PT Group. There was a statistically significant difference between before and after flaring(p<0.05). 4. Ranking of the time for flaring were GG>GT>OS>PT group. There was a statistically significant difference between GG group and other groups(p<0.05). 5. In the case without change of IAF diameter, they showed decrease in force after flaring when IAF was pulled out from root canal(p<0.05). This study suggested that early radicular flaring increases the file size that is snug at the apex, and awareness of that difference gives the clinical a better sense of canal size. Early flaring of the canal provides better apical size information and with this awareness, a better decision can be made concerning the appropriate final diameter needed for complete apical shaping.

        特用資源植物의 硏究 : 한국임학회지에 게재된 논문을 중심으로 Based on the Articles Published in the Journal of Korean Forestry

        한국임학회지 (1962년의 1호~2002년의 91권 6호)에 게재된 특용자원식물 관련 논문에서 식·음용식물, 약용식물, 사료식물, 조경식물, 섬유식물, 산업용식물 및 밀원식물로 분류하고 그 내용에 따라 입지환경, 생태, 생리, 번식, 조림(또는 무육, 재배), 유전·육종, 분류(또는 식별), 병·충해와 방제, 동물피해와 방제, 성분분석, 식생정보, 생물공학, 경영·경제 및 총설로 나누었다. 총 1,434편의 발표 논문 중 유용식물자원을 대상으로 한 논문은 27.6%를 차지하는 396편이었고, 내용은 식생정보 60편(15.2%), 생리 56편(14.1%), 유전·육종 56편(14.1%), 번식 53편(13.4%) 및 생태 37편(9.3%)이었다. 조림(무육·재배)은 11편(2.8%)으로 특용자원식물의 규모경영이 이루어지지 않고 있음을 시사하고 있으며, 이것은 경영·경제 분야가 6편(1.5%)인 것과 맥을 같이 하고 있었다. 연구대상 식물은 잣나무(42편), 아까시나무(23편), 밤나무(14편) 및 은행나무(14편) 순으로 높았고, 이 식물들과 관련한 연구내용은 번식, 생리, 유전·육종, 생태 및 병·충해 순이었다. 연구의 목적, 내용, 결과 및 대상식물 등을 고려하여 보면, 1) 초본식물에 대한 보다 많은 연구, 2) 타산업 또는 학분 분야와의 공동연구, 3) 자원 보전적 연구 및 4) 연구주체자 간의 연구결과의 공유 등이 매우 요망된다. The articles, published in the Journal of Korean Forestry from Number 1(1962) to number 6, Volume 91(2002), were surveyed and investigated for the research trend analysis about resource-plants for special use or purpose, i.e edible plants, medicinal plants, feed resource, landscape plants, fiber plants, industrial usage, and bee plants. If the purpose or subject matter of the research was construction or furniture timber production, mushrooms and/or pulp and Paper, such research was not included in this study. These articles were classified again depending on the content of research into 14 categories : habitat environment, ecology, physiology, propagation, silviculture(tending and culture), genetics and breeding, identification, insect and disease control, animal-related research, cemponent analysis, vegetation survey, biotechnology, management, and review. Among the total 1,434 articles published, 396 ones (27,6%) were related with plants for special use or purpose. Vegetation survey was 60(15.2%) ; physiology 56(04.1%) ; genetics and breeding 56(14.1%) ; propagation 53(13.4%) ; and ecology 37(9.3%). Siviculture research field included 11 articles (2.8%), which indicates that the management of resource-plants is to far from economic income as seen in the low number of management research filed articles, i. e., only 6 reports(1.5%). Korean white Pine was most popular for research and included 42 articles ; Robinia pseudoacacia 23 Castanea crenata 14 : and ginkgo tree 14, Research related with these species had focused mainly or propagation, physiotogy, genetics and breeding, ecology and pest control. Based on this survey and analysis, the followings are suggested : 1. More research is required on forest herbaceous plants. 2. Cooperative research work with other industrial and/or scientific area is recommendable for commercialization including medicine, cosmetics, and food etc. 3. Research resource-plant conservation. which includes biology, social education and policy, should be supported for next generation. 4. Mutual correspondence and information exchange about the research results between researchers and institutes is more necessary than now.

        Hydroxyapatite로 재건한 Orbital Blow-out fracture의 임상적 분석

        The blow-out fracture can be reconstructed by various autogeneous and alloplastic material. Particulate, nonresorbable hydroxyapatite is currently one of the choice of implant material available for reconstruction of blow-out fracture. Hydroxyapatite is radiopaque ceramic, physically and chemically similar to enamel and cortical bone. It is a biomaterial derived from natural corals to use as a bone graft substitute. And we looked into the clinical usefulness of 2 type of hydroxyapatite with their advantages and disadvantages in reconstruction of blow-out fracture. 183 patients with blow-out fracture who underwent surgical reconstruction with two types of hydroxyapatite from March 1933 to July 1977 have been analyzed the results of surgical reconstructions, and have been followed up for more than a year. And the condition of formerly inserted hydroxyapatite was observed in the patients who needed 2nd surgical reconstruction due to the enophthalmos. The disadvantages of hydroxyapatite are fragility, size and contour limitations. In spite of these demerits, hydroxyapatite can be one of the prospective materials to reconstruct orbital floor. Through the clinical experiences for 5 years, we have not found any of complications of exposure, infection, and foreign body reaction. Low rates of diplopia, limitation of ocular movement, and enophtalmos was observed. Hydroxyapatite was well adherent to adjacent orbital bone in most patients who needed secondary reconstruction for enopthalmos. In conclusion, our study shows that the availability of hydroxyapattite in reconstruction of blow-out fracture is recommendable, with low complication rates. Hydroxyapatite important appears to be well tolerated, and provides useful alloplastic prosthesis with few problems in reconstruction of blow-out fracture.

        Analysis of Carbonization Behavior of Hydrochar Produced by Hydrothermal Carbonization of Lignin and Development of a Prediction Model for Carbonization Degree Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy(열수 탄화 공정을 거친 리그닌 하이드로차(hydrochar)의 탄화 거동 분석과 근적외선 분광법을 이용한 예측 모델 개발)

        In this paper, we investigated the carbonization characteristics of lignin hydrochar prepared by hydrothermal carbonization and established a model for predicting the carbonization degree using near-infrared spectroscopy and partial least squares regression. The carbon content of the hydrothermally carbonized lignin at the temperature of 200 ℃ was higher by approximately 3 wt% than that of the untreated sample, and the carbon content tended to gradually increase as the heating time increased. Hydrothermal carbonization made lignin more carbon-intensive and more homogeneous by eliminating the microparticles. The discriminant and predictive models using near-infrared spectroscopy and partial least squares regression approppriately determined whether hydrothermal carbonization has been applied and predicted the carbon content of hydrothermal carbonized lignin with high accuracy. In this study, we confirmed that we can quickly and nondestructively predict the carbonization characteristics of lignin hydrochar manufactured by hydrothermal carbonization using a partial least squares regression model combined with near-infrared spectroscopy. 본 논문에서는 열수 탄화(hydrothermal carbonization)에 의해 제조된 리그닌 하이드로차의 탄화 특성을 조사하였고, 근적외선 분광법과 부분 최소 제곱(partial least squares) 회귀를 이용하여 탄화 거동을 예측하기 위한 모델을 수립하였다. 온도 200℃에서 열수 탄화된 리그닌의 탄소 함량은 무처리 시료 보다 약 3 wt% 높았으며 가열 시간이 증가할수록 탄소 함량도 서서히 증가하는 경향이 나타났다. 열수 탄화는 리그닌을 더욱 탄소 집약적으로 변화시키고 마이크로 파티클을 제거하여 더욱 균질한 특성을 부여하였다. 근적외선 분광법과 부분 최소 제곱 회귀를 이용한 판별 및 예측 모델은 수열 탄화의 적용 여부를 완벽히 구분했으며 높은 정확도로 열수 탄화 리그닌의 탄소 함량을 예측하였다. 본 연구로부터 근적외선 분광법과 결합된 부분 최소 제곱 회귀 모델을 이용하여 열수 탄화에 의해 제조된 리그닌 하이드로차의 탄화 특성을 빠르고 비파괴적으로 예측할 수 있다는 것이 확인되었다.

        하구순에 발생한 편평상피암의 치료

        The squamous cell carcinoma is the most common cancer of lower lip. Although various treatment methods have been introduced, surgical resection and reconstruction is considered to be the most important medical remedy. We surveyed 11 patients who received the surgery for squamous cell carcinoma on lower lip from January 1992 to December 1997. The survey included the size and location of tumor mass, the presence of lymph node metastasis for a preoperative evaluation, the aesthetic and the performance of lower lip after the operation, the recurrence rate, the complication and the mortality rate. In resectioning tunmor mass, the surgery has to completely remove the mass and meanwhile has to minimize the loss of normal tissues. Also in reconstruction of lower lip, it has to resemble, aesthetically and functionally, the normal lower lip as well. To achieve such s, the pre-excisional frozen biopsy was performed to determine the surgical margins and various reconstructive methods were tried according to the location and size of the defect remained in the lower lip. In the most of clinical cases, appropriate vermillion and nasolabial sulcus were fashioned and they functioned normally in both speech and mastication. As for complications, each case of drooling and macrostomia were reported, There was no mortality from lower lip carcinoma and its recurrence. Due to determination of the safe surgical margin by pre-excisional frozen biopsy and reconstruction by appropriate procedure according to the location and the size of defect, the survey indicates minimized postoperative complications, no recurrence and no mortality as well as aesthetically and functionally adequate lower lip

        Immobilization stress increased cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) expression in the ovary of rat

        Under the stressed condition, a complex feedback mechanism for stress is activated to maintain homeostasis of the body and secretes several stress hormones. But these stress hormones impair synthesis and secretion of the reproductive hormones, followed by suppression of ovarian function. Cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) plays a major role in metabolizing exogenous substances and endogenous hormones, and its expression is recently identified at not only the liver but also several organs with respect to the pancreas, lung and ovary. Although the expression of CYP1A2 can be also affected by several factors, understanding for the changed pattern of the ovarian CYP1A2 expression upon stress induction is still limited. Therefore, CYP1A2 expression in the ovaries from immobilization stress-induced rats were assessed in the present study. The stress-induced rats in the present study exhibited the physiological changes in terms of increased stress hormone level and decreased body weight gains. Under immunohistological observation, the ovarian CYP1A2 expression in both control and the stressed ovary was localized in the antral to pre-ovulatory follicles. However, its expression level was significantly (p < 0.01) higher in the stress-induced group than control group. In addition, stress-induced group presented more abundant CYP1A2-positive follicles (%) than control group. Since expression of the ovarian CYP1A2 was highly related with follicle atresia, increased expression of CYP1A2 in the stressed ovary might be associated with changes of the ovarian follicular dynamics due to stress induction. We hope that these findings have important implications in the fields of the reproductive biology.

        외상성 안구함몰에서 안와용적 변화에 관한 연구

        The CT examinations of 72 consecutive patients attending the department of plastic surgery in Pusan National University Hospital for surgical correction of orbital blow-out fractures were reviewed. Additional 13 patients, post-traumatic enophthalmos had undergone the same evaluation. All scans were performed on a SOMATOM Plus using transaxial scan technique (12OkVp, 210mA, 1 second scan time, 3mm contiguous sections). Each orbital volume and enophthalmos was measured on the CT console. Orbital volume in post-traumatic enophthalmos showed linear correlation with enophthalmos: lcm increase in orbital volume causing 0.97mm of enophthalmos. This confirms the cause of enophthalmos after blow-out fracture to be inereasni in orbital volume rather than fat atrophy or fibrosis. In blow-out fracture, orbital volume correlated well with enophthalmos, with a lcm increase in orbital volume causing 0.68 rnm of enophthalmos. This was probably because of the presence of edema, hemorrhage, or both behind the globe which would prevent immediate development of enophthalmos. CT masurement of orbital volume in blow-out fracture may predict the final degree of enophthalmos and edentify those patientd at risk of late enophthalmos, allowing approriate early surgical intervention.

        Olive flounder CD276 (B7-H3) a coinhibitory molecule for T cells: Responses during viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV) stimulation

        <P>Coinhibitory pathways in the B7-CD28 family provide critical inhibitory signals that regulate immune homeostasis, defense and protect tissue integrity. CD276 (B7-H3) is an important immune checkpoint member of this family, which is induced on antigen-presenting cells (APCs), and plays an important role in the inhibition of T cell function. We have characterized the CD276 gene of olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus. OfCD276 has an ORF of 912 bp that codes for 303 amino acids with a predicted molecular mass of 33 kDa. It is a type I trans membrane protein with a single extracellular V- and C-like Ig domains, a transmembrane region, and a highly diverse cytoplasmic tail. This gene was distinctly expressed in gill, spleen, and skin, and sparsely expressed in other tissues. Pathogen stimulation by VHSV revealed that transcription of OfCD276 was induced on early hours in liver and expressed late in head kidney, spleen, intestine and gill tissues. Flow cytometry analysis of leukocytes revealed the percentage of granulocytes and lymphocytes that expressed OfCD276 molecules on their cell surface was 85.1% and 3.1%, respectively. Our study shows a significant role played by this coinhibitory molecule that participate in the regulation of the cell mediated immune response.</P>
