The study investigates and measures the impact of the emotional intelligence orientation on audit sustainability in Vietnam. Survey data for this research were collected from 260 auditors (CPAs) currently working in auditing firms, for the period from April 2020 to July 2020. In this study, we have built a model with two dependent variables (Emotional intelligence orientation and Audit sustainability) and six independent variables (Proactive audit vision, Continuous audit development, Dynamic audit experience, Audit environmental change, Stakeholder expectation pressure, Advocacy culture). The research methods used include Cronbach's Alpha test, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmation factor analysis (CFA) and linear structural model analysis (SEM). The results showed that (1) Proactive audit vision, (2) Continuous audit development, (3) Dynamic audit experience, (4) Audit environmental change, (5) Stakeholder expectation pressure are positively related to emotional intelligence orientation. However, Advocacy culture is not positively related to Emotional intelligence orientation. The findings of this study suggest that emotional intelligence orientation positively impacts audit sustainability (similar to the findings by Thapayom, Ussahawanitchakit, & Boonlua, 2017, 2018 in Thailand). The results of this study provide a scientific basis for managers at auditing firms to make appropriate decisions to improve auditing activities in the coming years.
The Determinants of Listed Commercial Banks’ Profitability in Vietnam
Hai Thanh PHAN,Tien Ngoc HOANG,Linh Viet DINH,Dat Ngoc HOANG 한국유통과학회 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.11
The study investigates the factors affecting the profitability of listed commercial banks in Vietnam. Survey data for this research were collected from 10 Vietnamese listed commercial banks for the period from 2008 to 2018. In the study, we have built a model of econometric regression with the dependent variable being listed commercial banks’ profitability results measured through ROA. The research methods used include descriptive statistics, IV regression and OLS regression analysis, and the authors carried out the model verification with Stata 14 software. The results showed that operating efficiency, loans size, retail loans ratio, state ownership, inflation rate, and GDP growth are factors that have a positive impact on profitability On the other hand, variables such as capital size, credit risk, liquidity risk, bank size, and revenue diversification are statistically insignificant; hence, these variables are not statistically adequate to indicate the influence of those independent variables to banks’ profitability. The findings of this study suggest that the quality of assets should be considered in the context that bad debt risks come from lending heavily to the real estate sector. Meeting Basel II’s capital compliance requirements is relatively difficult for small listed commercial banks compared to bigger listed commercial banks in Vietnam.

The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine has been a leading concern worldwide. Artificial intelligence-based systems not only support storing a large amount of data but also assist doctors in making a diagnosis. In addition, deep learning has obtained numerous achievements that greatly supported the development of image-based diagnostic methods. On the other hand, deep learning models still work as a black box that makes interpreting the output a challenge. Diagnosis based on images is currently a trend that plays a key role in clinical treatment by discovering abnormal regions for disease diagnosis. This paper proposes a computer-aid diagnosis system to support a pleural effusion diagnosis based on Chest X-ray (CXR) images. This study investigated several shallow convolutional neural network architectures that classify CXR images as well as the technique for processing imbalanced data using oversampling technology. The best model in the experiments was chosen to generate explanations using the Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations (LIME) to support providing signals for pleural effusion diagnosis. The proposed method is expected to provide more informative CXR images of the pleural effusion diagnosis process.

Among 90 Vietnamese medicinal plant extracts investigated for their antioxidant activity by DPPH assay at various concentrations from 10 - 100 ?g/mL, 67 showed an inhibition rate over 50% at 100 ?g/mL; 47 had greater than 50% inhibition at 50 ?g/mL; 17 showed over 50% inhibition at 25 ?g/mL. 8 extracts which exhibited strong inhibitory activity more than 50% inhibition at 10 ?g/mL were further tested for lipid peroxidation inhibition by TBA assay. They displayed activity with IC50 values from 30.6 to 158.9 ?g/mL. Until now, this is the first report on antioxidant activity of the female flower of Borassus flabellifer, and the stem of Combretum latifolium, Embelia ribes, Spatholobus parviflorus, and Tetrastigma erubescens. Fractionations of the EtOAc extract prepared from S. parviflorus led to the isolation of protocatechuic acid (1), ferulic acid (2), epicatechin (3), and gallic acid (4). These compounds showed significant DPPH inhibitory activity with IC50 values from 6.5 to 23.6 ?M.
Data-Hiding for Halftone Images Using an Improved CPT scheme
( Phan Trung Huy ),( Nguyen Hai Thanh ),( Cheonshik Kim ),( Ching-nung Yang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2013 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.7 No.2
In publishing applications, it is advantageous to embed data in halftone images. The CPT scheme (Chen-Pan-Tseng, 2000) is a steganographic data hiding scheme that was proposed for binary images, e.g., facsimiles. The CPT scheme uses a secret key and weight matrix to protect the hidden data and can hide as many as r = [log2(m×n+1)] bits of data in the image by changing at most 2 bits in the image. Our proposed scheme also uses a secret key to protect it from being compromised and a weight matrix to increase the data hiding rate. Our scheme improves the performance of the CPT scheme by using the simple principle of splitting each block into two parts. Our proposed scheme is called improved CPT (ICPT) and has a very high embedding capacity compared to previous schemes. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed scheme generally has higher performance than previous schemes.

Phan Van Kiem,Nguyen Hai Dang,Ha Viet Bao,Hoang Thanh Huong,Chau Van Minh,Le Mai Huong,이정준,김영호 대한약학회 2005 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.28 No.10
Two new benzopyrans 6-[1'-oxo-3'(R)-hydroxy-butyl]-5,7-dimethoxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-1-benzopyran (1) and 6-[1'-oxo-3'(R)-methoxy-butyl]-5,7-dimethoxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-1-benzopyran (2) were isolated from the leaves of Mallotus apelta Muell.-Arg., (Euphorbiaceae). Their chemical structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses, especially by 1D-, 2D-NMR and MS spectra. Compound 1 was found to have strong cytotoxic effect against two human cancer cell lines as human hepatocellular carcinoma (Hep-2, IC50: 0.49 µg/mL) and rhabdosarcoma (RD, IC50: 0.54 µg/mL), while compound 2 showed moderate activity against Hep-2 cell line (IC50, 4.22 µg/mL) by in vitro assay.

Nguyen Hai Dang,Nguyen Van Thanh,Phan Van Kiem,Le Mai Huong,Chau Van Minh,김영호 대한약학회 2007 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.30 No.11
Two new triterpene glycosides, namely holothurin A3 (1) and A4 (2) were isolated from the methanol extract of the sea cucumber, Holothuria scabra, with their structures elucidated from the spectroscopic evidence (1D NMR, 2D NMR, ESI-MS and HRESI-MS). Compounds 1 and 2 were found to be strongly cytotoxic to both cancer cell lines, KB and Hep-G2, with 50% inhibitory concentrations (IC50) of 0.87 and 0.32 µg/mL (for compound 1) and of 1.12 and 0.57 µg/mL (for compound 2), respectively.
