We present the science and technology roadmap for graphene, related two-dimensional crystals, and hybrid systems, targeting an evolution in technology, that might lead to impacts and benefits reaching into most areas of society. This roadmap was developed within the framework of the European Graphene Flagship and outlines the main targets and research areas as best understood at the start of this ambitious project. We provide an overview of the key aspects of graphene and related materials (GRMs), ranging from fundamental research challenges to a variety of applications in a large number of sectors, highlighting the steps necessary to take GRMs from a state of raw potential to a point where they might revolutionize multiple industries. We also define an extensive list of acronyms in an effort to standardize the nomenclature in this emerging field.

Jonathan Harvey’s Mortuos Plango, Vivos Voco: The Electronic Sacred
Carlotta Ferrari(카를로타 페라리) 한국전자음악협회 2023 에밀레 Vol.21 No.-
Jonathan Harvey’s 1980 electroacoustic piece Mortuos plango, vivos voco features compositional strategies with a strong mystical side. Its dualism of life/death elements, both linked to different sound materials (voice and bell respectively), encourages a meditation that involves the listener’s inner dimension, thus providing the basis for a re-humanization of electronic music.

Objective: Evidence has suggested that immune imbalance is involved with bipolar disorder (BD); however, its precise mechanism is poorly understood. This study investigated whether biochemical changes in the serum from BD patients could modulate the phenotype of cultured macrophages. Methods: Eighteen subjects with BD and five healthy individuals were included in this study. The human monocyte cell line U-937 was activated with phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) and polarization was induced with RPMI-1640 media supplemented with 10% serum from each patient for 24 hours. Gene expression of selected M1 and M2 markers was assessed by quantitative PCR. Results: Macrophages exposed to serum of manic and depressive BD patients displayed an increase of interleukin-1 (6.40±3.47 and 9.04±5.84 vs. 0.23±0.11; p<0.05) and tumor necrosis factor- (2.23±0.91 and 2.03±0.45 vs. 0.62±0.24; p=0.002 and p=0.004, respectively) compared to euthymic group (there was no difference between euthymic and controls). In parallel, U-937 macrophages treated with serum of patients in acute episode displayed a down-regulation of CXCL9 (0.29±0.20 vs. 1.86±1.61; p=0.006) and CXCL10 expression (0.36±0.15 and 0.86±0.24 vs. 1.83±0.88; p<0.000 and p=0.04) compared to the euthymia group. Conclusion: Our results are consistent with previous studies showing that changes in peripheral blood markers could modulate M1/M2 polarization in BD. The evidence of macrophages as source of inflammatory cytokines might be helpful to unravel how the mononuclear phagocyte system is involved in the etiology of BD.
PID CONTROLLER MODELLING AND OPTIMIZATION IN CR SYSTEMS WITH STANDARD AND REDUCED ACCUMULATORS
Alessandro Ferrari,Antonio Mittica,Pietro Pizzo,Zhiru Jin 한국자동차공학회 2018 International journal of automotive technology Vol.19 No.5
The proportional-integrative-derivative (PID) controller and the pressure control valve of a Common Rail system are modelled by taking into account electronic, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical aspects. A fully predictive model of the injection apparatus is realized and validated by means of comparison with experimental data. The effects of the PID parameters on the injection system dynamics are illustrated and discussed on the basis of model results, which refer to steadystate and transient working conditions. The influence of the accumulator size on the rail pressure time history is investigated when the rail volume is dramatically reduced (up to 2.5 cm3). In particular, the effect of the large rail pressure drop that occurs at the end of the main injection for Minirail layout solutions is examined when after injections are implemented. An objective is to try to determine possible suitable values of the PID controller parameters and of the pressure-sensor sampling-frequency for rails of reduced size.

Fernando Ferrari Putti,Camila Pires Cremasco,Luís Roberto Almeida Gabriel Filho,André Rodrigues do Reis 한국농업기계학회 2014 바이오시스템공학 Vol.39 No.4
Purpose: Concerns over the quantity of available freshwater for agriculture have triggered the development of technologiesintended to increase efficiency of water use, especially with regard to irrigation. A new technique called fertirrigation hasbeen developed to use the same irrigation equipment for fertilization. Methods: Since the above-mentioned techniquerequires care during installation and use on farms, current analysis focuses on some of its characteristics. Results: Highuniformity irrigation systems provide the best distribution of fertilizers, especially when used in combination with dripirrigation or micro-aspersion. The factors purity, compatibility, acidification, salinity, and solubility should be taken intoaccount. Conclusions: Fertirrigation provides a significant increase in productivity as it allows for highly controlled nutrientapplication during the entire growing season. However, it may cause serious problems if misused or overused.

This article proposes to review the theoretical and methodological path of the research programme Médias et mobilisations en Corse de 1945 à nos jours (https://sites.ina.fr/mobilisations-en-corse). From its first stages to its extensions, the objective was to give it a semiotic dimension essential to its elevation as a heritage while following the initial guideline, that of a thought forged by the question of triviality by Yves Jeanneret and inscribed more broadly in the line of the Sciences of the Information and the Communication.
FEASIBILITY STUDY OF AN INNOVATIVE URBAN ELECTRIC-HYBRID MICROCAR
Alessandro Ferraris,Federico Micca,Alessandro Messana,Andrea Giancarlo Airale,Massimiliana Carello 한국자동차공학회 2019 International journal of automotive technology Vol.20 No.2
This paper presents the feasibility study of a new platform for electric-hybrid quadricycles, developed by addressing important concepts like passive safety and comfort, which often represent a shortcoming in this vehicle category. Starting from packaging of energy storage system and macroscopic subsystems as the main technological constraint, the study has been entirely developed in a virtual environment, with finite element verifications on preliminary models, and a subsequent cooperation phase between computer aided design and finite element analysis softwares, with a guideline for the main tests being that each could feasibly be carried out on a complete vehicle model in order to validate the original assumptions. The resulting design, with a body curb mass of less than 100 kg, was capable of integrating optimal static stiffness characteristics and crash performance, together with improved vehicle dynamics thanks to an innovative suspension archetype.

Objectives: This study compared the flow and filling of several retrograde filling materials using new different test models. Materials and Methods: Glass plates were manufactured with a central cavity and 4 grooves in the horizontal and vertical directions. Grooves with the dimensions used in the previous study (1 × 1 × 2 mm; length, width, and height respectively) were compared with grooves measuring 1 × 1 × 1 and 1 × 2 × 1 mm. Biodentine, intermediate restorative material (IRM), and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) were evaluated. Each material was placed in the central cavity, and then another glass plate and a metal weight were placed over the cement. The glass plate/material set was scanned using micro-computed tomography. Flow was calculated by linear measurements in the grooves. Central filling was calculated in the central cavity (mm3 ) and lateral filling was measured up to 2 mm from the central cavity. Results: Biodentine presented the least flow and better filling than IRM when evaluated in the 1 × 1 × 2 model. In a comparison of the test models, MTA had the most flow in the 1 × 1 × 2 model. All materials had lower lateral filling when the 1 × 1 × 2 model was used. Conclusions: Flow and filling were affected by the size of the test models. Higher grooves and materials with greater flow resulted in lower filling capacity. The test model measuring 1 × 1 × 2 mm showed a better ability to differentiate among the materials.
