This study investigates, first, whether the extent of corporate social and environmental responsibility disclosure (CSERD) differs between 2010 and 2014; second, whether government regulation affects the extent of CSERD; and, third, whether the CSERD is valued by investors. Content analysis method was used to extract 466 companies' annual reports to measure the extent of social and environmental responsibility disclosure based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) checklist. Independent sample t-test and multivariate regression analysis were also conducted to test the differences of the extent of CSERD as well as determinants and consequence of CSERD. Our results show that the extent of CSERD in 2014 is 21.60 percent higher than in 2010 (13.39 percent). Government regulation has a significant effect on the extent of CSERD. This study also finds that market values positively CSER information disclosed by company. Given that government regulation has a positive impact, however, the findings of this study suggests that the extent of CSERD is still low. To enhance CSERD, government should continuously encourage companies to abide by the regulations as mandated. This study provides a more comprehensive insights of CSRED practices from an emerging country and the effect of government regulation in enhancing CSERD.

This study aims to design a real-time system on STM32F4 to measure the density of liquid flow in construction building materials, which can be manually tested in laboratories or construction sites. The study provides an embedded system capable of sequentially and real-time measuring the velocity profile and pressure drop. Existing devices such as rheometers, which are expensive and require calibration, are used to measure fluid flows. However, this study presents a domestically developed device at a lower cost.

We report a 12-month-old female infant who had a history of neonatal sepsis with liver micro-abscesses that resolved with intravenous antibiotics during neonatal period. During her neonatal admission period, no umbilical vein catheter was inserted. Also, she did not undergo any abdominal surgeries or had a postnatal history of necrotizing enterocolitis. However, the child developed upper gastrointestinal bleeding in form of hematemesis and melena secondary to esophageal varices at the age of 12 months with an extra-hepatic portal vein obstruction with cavernous transformation and portal hypertension subsequently. The child underwent a successful endoscopic injection sclerotherapy. She is now 20-month-old and has portal hypertension but otherwise asymptomatic. We are proposing the possibility of a delayed-onset portal hypertension as a complication of liver abscess and neonatal sepsis.
Improvement of mechanical properties of bio-concrete using Enterococcus faecalis and Bacillus cereus

The present study aimed to investigate the potential of Enterococcus faecalis (E. faecalis) and Bacillus cereus (B. cereus) in improving the properties of bio-concrete. E. faecalis and B. cereus strains were obtained from fresh urine and an acid mire water at cell concentration of 1.16×1012 and 1.3×1012 cells mL-1, respectively. The bacterial strains were inoculated in a liquid medium into the concrete with 1, 3 and 5% as replacement of water cement ratio (w/c). The ability of E. faecalis and B. cereus cells to accumulate the calcite and the decrement of pores size within bio-concrete was confirmed by SEM and EDX analysis. The results revealed that E. faecalis exhibited high efficiency for increasing of compressive and splitting tensile strength than B. cereus (23 vs. 14.2%, and 13 vs. 8.5%, respectively). These findings indicated that E. faecalis is more applicable in the bio-concrete due to its ability to enhance strength development and reduce water penetration.

The energy demands of the world have been accelerating drastically because of the technological development, population growth and changing in living conditions for a couple of decades. A number of diferent techniques, such as batteries and capacitors, were developed in the past to meet the demands, but the gap, especially in energy storage, has been increasing substantially. Among the other energy storage devices, supercapacitors have been advancing rapidly to fll the gap between conventional capacitors and rechargeable batteries. In this study, natural resources such as pistachio and acorn shells were used to produce the activated carbons for electrode applications in a supercapacitor (or an electrical double-layer capacitor—EDLC). The activated carbon was synthesized at two diferent temperatures of 700 °C and 900 °C to study its efect on porosity and performance in the supercapacitor. The morphology of the activated carbon was studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A solution of tetraethylammonium tetrafuoroborate (TEABF4)/propylene carbonate (PC) was prepared to utilize in supercapacitor manufacturing. The performance of the EDLC was investigated using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Activated carbons from both the pistachio and acorn shells synthesized at 700 °C in argon gas for two hours exhibited better surface textures and porosity. There activated carbons also exhibited more capacitor-like behavior and lower real impedances, indicating that they would have superior performance compared to the activated carbons obtained at 900 °C. This study may be used to integrate some of natural resources into high-tech energy storage applications for sustainable developments.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, primarily arisingfrom the stomach. With the widespread utilization of and technical advancements in endoscopy, gastric GISTs are being increasinglydetected at an early stage, enabling complete endoscopic resection. Endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) is an advancedtechnique that has been recognized as a treatment tool for neoplasms in the digestive tract in selected patients. Although a numberof methods are available, closing large iatrogenic defects after EFTR can be a concern in clinical practice. If this potential problem isappropriately solved, patients with gastric GISTs would be suitable candidates for resection utilizing this technique. To our knowledge, this is the first study to propose omental patching and purse-string endosuture closure following EFTR as a feasible endoscopic optionin patients with gastric GISTs.
(∈, ∈ Vqk)-FUZZY IDEALS IN LEFT REGULAR ORDERED LA-SEMIGROUPS
Faisal Yousafzai,Waqar Khan,Tariq Aziz,Asghar Khan 호남수학회 2013 호남수학학술지 Vol.35 No.4
We generalize the idea of (2; 2 _qk)-fuzzy ordered semi-group and give the concept of (2; 2 _qk)-fuzzy ordered LA-semigroup. We show that (2; 2 _qk)-fuzzy left (right, two-sided) ideals, (2;2_qk)-fuzzy (generalized) bi-ideals, (2; 2 _qk)-fuzzy interior idealsand (2; 2 _qk)-fuzzy (1; 2)-ideals need not to be coincide in an or-dered LA-semigroup but on the other hand, we prove that all these(2;2 _qk)-fuzzy ideals coincide in a left regular class of an orderedLA-semigroup. Further we investigate some useful conditions foran ordered LA-semigroup to become a left regular ordered LA-semigroup and characterize a left regular ordered LA-semigroupin terms of (2; 2 _qk)-fuzzy one-sided ideals. Finally we connectan ideal theory with an (2; 2 _qk)-fuzzy ideal theory by using thenotions of duo and (2;2 _qk)-fuzzy duo.
