E-INTERACTION BEHAVIOUR AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE: THE ROLE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL COMFORT

This study, based on mixed method research design, explores the mechanism by which online service provider experiences are indirectly influenced by service interactions (service manner and need identification) in a rarely explored context (e-learning service and digital product/online MBA). While the service provided by employees is argued to play an important role in consumers’ evaluations of service performance (Vasconcelos et al., 2015), the impact of service interaction on experience (combining credence service theory and customer experience theory) has to date not been explored.

Previously, an interspecific cross between Fusarium circinatum and Fusarium subglutinans was used to generate a genetic linkage map. A ca. 55 % of genotyped markers displayed transmission ratio distortion (TRD) that demonstrated a genome-wide distribution. The working hypothesis for this study was that TRD would be nonrandomly distributed throughout the genetic linkage map. This would indicate the presence of distorting loci. Using a genome-wide threshold of a = 0.01, 79 markers displaying TRD were distributed on all 12 linkage groups (LGs). Eleven putative transmission ratio distortion loci (TRDLs),spanning eight LGs, were identified in regions containing three or more adjacent markers displaying distortion. No epistatic interactions were observed between these TRDLs. Thus, it is uncertain whether the genome-wide TRD was due to linkage between markers and genomic regions causing distortion. The parental origins of markers followed a non-random distribution throughout the linkage map, with LGs containing stretches of markers originating from only one parent. Thus, due to the nature of the interspecific cross, the current hypothesis to explain these observations is that the observed genome-wide segregation was caused by the high level of genomic divergence between the parental isolates. Therefore, homologous chromosomes do not align properly during meiosis, resulting in aberrant transmission of markers. This also explains previous observations of the preferential transmission of F. subglutinans alleles to the F1 progeny.
The cellular response to plasma membrane disruption for nanomaterial delivery
Houthaeve Gaëlle,De Smedt Stefaan C.,Braeckmans Kevin,De Vos Winnok H. 나노기술연구협의회 2022 Nano Convergence Vol.9 No.6
Delivery of nanomaterials into cells is of interest for fundamental cell biological research as well as for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes. One way of doing so is by physically disrupting the plasma membrane (PM). Several methods that exploit electrical, mechanical or optical cues have been conceived to temporarily disrupt the PM for intracellular delivery, with variable effects on cell viability. However, apart from acute cytotoxicity, subtler effects on cell physiology may occur as well. Their nature and timing vary with the severity of the insult and the efficiency of repair, but some may provoke permanent phenotypic alterations. With the growing palette of nanoscale delivery methods and applications, comes a need for an in-depth understanding of this cellular response. In this review, we summarize current knowledge about the chronology of cellular events that take place upon PM injury inflicted by different delivery methods. We also elaborate on their significance for cell homeostasis and cell fate. Based on the crucial nodes that govern cell fitness and functionality, we give directions for fine-tuning nano-delivery conditions.

Analysis of ship propulsion system performance is often performed using detailed hydrodynamic models to assess load changes, which are subsequently compared to static engine limits, or by detailed engine models that are rarely integrated with sufficiently detailed propulsion models for load change estimation. To investigate the dynamic engine (overloading) behaviour and ship propulsion performance under various heavy operating conditions, a Mean Value First Principle Parametric (MVFPP) engine model is integrated into a ship propulsion system model in this paper. An upgraded thermodynamic-based MVFPP model for two-stroke marine diesel engines is presented, in particular a newly developed MVFPP gas exchange model. Based on the integrated propulsion system model of a benchmark ocean-going chemical tanker, the engine dynamic behaviour during ship acceleration, deceleration and crash stop has been investigated. Results show that, during dynamic processes, the engine could be thermally overloaded even if the engine power trajectory is inside the static engine operating envelope. The paper contributes to finding proper indicators for thermal overloading of modern two-stroke marine diesel engines. It is demonstrated that when matching the engine with the propeller and designing the ship propulsion control system, not only the static engine operating envelope, but also the dynamic engine behaviour should be considered.

The signature and almost unique characteristic of microbial technology is the exceptional diversity of applications it can address, and the exceptional range of human activities and needs to which it is and can be applied. Precisely because sustainability goals have very diverse and complex components and requirements, microbial technology has the ability to contribute substantively on many levels in many arenas to global efforts to achieve sustainability. Indeed, microbial technology could be viewed as a unifying element in our progress towards sustainability.
