The Superiority of 68 Ga-FAPI-04 over 18F-FDG in a Case of Gallbladder Cancer

A 56-year-old man presented with vague upper abdominal pain for more than 4 months. His abdominal ultrasound and MRI showed thickening of the neck and base of the gallbladder and nodule formation at the base of the gallbladder. 18F-FDG PET/CT revealed intense FDG uptake in the base of the gallbladder and multiple lymph nodes. 68 Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT not only showed intense FAPI uptake in the above mentioned FDG-avid lesions but also showed intense FAPI uptake in the neck lesion of the gallbladder and some other additional lymph nodes. Finally, histopathological examination confirmed poorly differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma of the neck and base of the gallbladder. Our case illustrated that 68 Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT may outperform 18F-FDG PET/CT in the detection of gallbladder cancer primary and metastatic lesions.

A simple and improved analytical model (AM) for linear permanent magnet synchronous machine (LPMSM) based on the correction factor is presented in this paper. A slotless linear permanent magnet machine (PLPM) with AM developed in Cartesian coordinate is selected to investigate. Consequently, the fitting equations of curvature factors for the permanent magnet and armature are obtained. The subdomains for LPMSM are simplified from 6 down to 3 domains based on curvature equations. The magnetic flux density and force show that the proposed approach agrees with the finite element (FE) model. Moreover, the reduced calculation domains and harmonic orders make AM proposed in the paper much faster. The main contribution of the work is to present a simple strategy for coordinate transformation and calculation strategy for LPMSM, which provides guideline for designers to investigate the machines developed in Cartesian coordinate.

To investigate the coupling relationship between earthquake and ionosphere perturbation, we process the global total electron contents (TECs) estimated from GPS data of IGS stations by CODE and analyze TEC anomalies before MW 8.6 Sumatra earthquake and MW 6.7 Mexico earthquake on April 11, 2012. The sliding interquartile method with the sliding window of 27 days is used to process data of SSN, F10.7 solar flux, Dst and Kp to eliminate the effects of solar activity and the geomagnetic activity. The results show that there are positive and negative TEC anomalies over epicenter on the 11th day and the 3rd day prior to the Sumatran earthquake respectively. But the decrement and increment of TEC anomalies over epicenter occurred on the 11th day and the 3rd day prior to the Mexico earthquake. The global TEC anomalies are analyzed on the 11th day and the 3rd day before these two great earthquakes, respectively. The magnitudes of TEC anomaly occurred on the 3rd day before earthquakes are larger than that occurred on the 11th day before earthquakes. This indicates the magnitude of anomaly may be related to the number of days prior to earthquake. But the magnitude of TEC anomaly near Sumatran is lower than that near Mexico, and the duration of anomalies occurred on 11th day is longer than those on 3rd day prior to earthquake, which are different from previous results. The TEC anomaly of Sumatran earthquake mainly occurs in the afternoon and night local time, but the TEC anomaly of Mexico earthquake mainly occurs in the morning local time. The TEC anomaly peak regions before these two earthquakes appeared on the south of epicenters instead of the vertical projection of the epicenter. Corresponding ionospheric anomalies are also observed in the magnetically conjugated regions. These can be guidance for the ionosphere monitoring in earthquake study.

In response to infection, insects produce a variety of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) to kill the invading patho-gens. To study their physicochemical properties and bioactivities for clinical and commercial use in the porcine industry, we chemically synthesized the mature peptides Bombyx mori moricin and Hyalophora cecropia cecropin B. In this paper, we described the antimicrobial activity of the two AMPs. Moricin exhibited antimicrobial activity on eight strains tested with minimal inhibitory concentration values (MICs) ranging between 8 and 128 g/ml, while cecropin B mainly showed antimicrobial activity against the Gram-negative strains with MICs ranging from 0.5 to 16 g/ml. Compared to the potent antimicrobial activity these two AMPs displayed against most of the bacterial pathogens tested, they exhibited limited hemolytic activity against porcine red blood cells. The activities of moricin and cecropin B against Haemophilus parasuis SH 0165 were studied in further detail. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) of moricin and cecropin B treated H. parasuis SH 0165 indicated extensive damage to the membranes of the bacteria. Insights into the probable mechanism utilized by moricin and cecropin B to eliminate pathogens are also presented. The observations from this study are important for the future application of AMPs in the porcine industry.
A Comparison of Developmental Trajectories of Prepulse Inhibition between Male and Female Rats

Objective: Various studies have demonstrated that childhood and adolescence are critical periods of brain development characterized by both dramatic changes and sexual dimorphism in anatomy, physiology and cognition. Prepulse inhibition (PPI) is an operational model of sensorimotor gating process, but data concerning the interactions of sex and normal ontogeny of PPI is of a particular paucity. Methods: We led a longitudinal study to compare the PPI between male and female Sprague-Dawley rats during postnatal day 23 to 43. Results: We found that the PPI of both male and female rats increased during this period. We also found that the PPI of male and female rats had different developmental trajectories when the prepulse intensity was 20 dB [A] above background, a result similar with a previous study done in humans. Conclusion: The finding confirms the face validity of PPI as a model of information processing across species and supports its utilization for investigation of potential aetiological factors implicated in mental disorders.
